The CBP Recruitment Event at Fort Hood was held at the Oveta Culp Hobby Soldier and Family Readiness Center on Monday, May 8, 2017. The event focused on military personnel and veterans who were interested in a career in the various fields of business, marketing, law enforcement and transportation. Veterans and military personnel were also provided with information on real estate, mortgage, and continuing education opportunities.
Organizations in attendance were Primerica Financial Services, Texas Veterans and Workforce Commission, Z Systems, Veterans Land Board, La Salle Corrections, Facility Solutions Group, Stevens Transport, and Troops into Transport to name a few were in attendance at the mini-career fair. Candidates were also briefed on the current announcement in USAjobs, the CBPO GS9 17-8 & CBPO 17-8, as well as the Veterans only announcement found in the cbp.gov/careers. The Career Fair was a learning experience for me to take with me because the career fair taught me of how I could have many opportunities to explore from than just having one opportunity for your future. On November 5, 2009 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a gunman opens fire inside the base's Soldier Readiness Center at U.S. Army Base, Fort Hood, Texas. In conclusion, my attendance to this career fair was about what I expected given the fact I didn't think very many businesses would be offering internships to aspiring physician's assistants. One thing I wish the Business and Technology career fair had was hospitals or more medical related opportunities. Outside that fact, I would say my overall experience at the fair was a positive
