Kudler Fine Foods is a local upscale specialty food store located in the San Diego metropolitan area solely owned and operated by Kathy Kudler. The company has three locations La Jolla, Del Mar, and Encinitas. Each store has approximately 16,000 square feet of retail space located in a fashionable shopping center. The stores are stocked with the very best domestic and imported foodstuffs and divided into the following departments; Fresh Bakery and Pastries, Fresh Produce, Fresh Meat & Seafood, Condiments and Packaged Foods, and Cheese’s and Specialty Dairy Products. The positions that will be created will establish and define KFF needed to support and provide help to Kathy Kudler. These positions will centralize the operations and help give more time to Kathy Kudler to roam to the other stores and providing and dealing with her customers. In addition, open up new opportunities that can be attained with more time dedicated to it.
Implementing a training program will be the most effective way to ensure that current and newly appointed team members can engage the needs of the customer base. This culture can be very positive and supportive, or it can be threatening, and destructive. In many cases, managers, supervisors, and workers do not know the nature of the career development culture because they have not had an objective appraisal of it (Stuart, 2002).
