This book is about the final girls in the selection who are fighting for the spot of being Maxons wife. In this journal I would be predicting if America or kriss will be marrying Maxon. First off I predict that America will be marrying Maxon. I think America will be marring Maxon because at the Halloween Ball, Maxon said that he is going to be marrying America. He even had a toast to his “future wife” and as he was saying it he looked at America and gave her a wink. Maxon also showed only America the princess room. He did not show anyone else besides her. When the rebels last came, America was outside. So when she saw them, she ran in to the woods and got lost. Maxon was worried sick about her and not knowing where she is. As soon as America got checked in to the hospital, Maxon went to go and see her right away. But I also predict that Kriss will be marring Maxon. I think Kriss will be the one marring Maxon because he has been spending a lot of time with Kriss. He even siting by her during the meals. For every Party, Maxon always asks Kriss for the first dance. Maxon said that he does not want to send Kriss home but he also does not want to send America home. I predict that America will be the one marrying Maxon because of all the things he has said/promised her and the way he has acting around
The last engine of the plan goes out as the crew of the “superman” hurls towards the ground; “Prepare for impact” was a understatement. An american biographical war thriller book, Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand describes Louis Zamperini life as he grows up from getting in trouble to becoming one of the most bravest and strongest people to date. In early childhood, Louis Zamperini grew up getting in trouble as much as possible, but as he grew older he became more of a man due to his new love for running. Running became such a passion and talent it brought him to the 1936 Summer olympics; unfortunately he only came in 8th. Louis later got drafted into the army where he became part of the “superman” crew in the United States Air Forces. Through traumatic events, he gets lost at sea and eventually gets captured to be sent to a camp of war. He faces many obstacles following the rest of the
In many ways I am like Thelma Arnold of Lilburn, Georgia (pg. 59). The book states that Thelma had not realized that her search browser, AOL, had kept and released records of what she had searched. When her records along with others records, were released complete strangers were able to identify her and find where she lived by what she had searched. Another man’s records were released with Thelma’s and the reports showed that he had searched for things like how to kill his wife (pg. 60). I personally had no idea that there is a “big brother” out there watching what we search and look at on our electronic devices (pg. 48). Of course I had known that even the things we delete off the internet are never really deleted. Although, I feel that our
After reading 80 pages of, “Skud,” by Dennis Foon, I felt motivated by the actions and determination shown by the main characters of the story, especially Andy. In the book, all the characters had a goal or objective and worked hard to reach that goal. Although most people would not advise someone to center their life around one certain thing, I think that when one finds a purpose or objective in life they should always do their best to reach this goal regardless of what others say or thinks of it. In the book, Andy dream was to become a popular actor.Although the possibility of getting cast is low and although he was hurt and unwell, Andy still went to the audition because of that small possibility. After reading about this, I felt determined and motivated by actions like this.
Before America found out that Aspen worked at the palace she came to find herself in a deep love for prince Maxon. She had always loved Aspen but had slowly forgotten about him when she joined the selection. As she got deeper into the selection she became more in love with Maxon. Furthermore she says ¨Maxon knows how I feel, and thatś all that matters¨(Cass 24). For Maxon to know how she feels means that they have discussed the way they feel for each other and they have already said that they love each other

During the whole story, it talks about how the girls in the Selection face suspense because they aren’t sure what will happen next , or who Maxon is leaning towards. After the girls made a conclusion on where they stand in the Selection, it impacts another suspenseful moment. Who will get kicked out next? In the perspective of a reader reading this book this is seen as a cause and effect situation . For example, for every girl that is eliminated from the Selection must have done something to provoke Prince Maxon. That leads to the remaining of the girls and on pins and needles so they won’t be next ones eliminated. To introduce the characters, Kiera Cass shows that the readers could know more about each character without having them fully introduced. For instance, a good example would be how people can easily tell the personality of Celeste because of what America and the other girls have said behind her back. But truly the author was giving more information about the personalities the different girls have in a silent but directed
No one would have guessed that, at a very innocent book-reading, would blossom a wedding. During a Q and A with Carrie Brownstein and Amy Poehler, two female book fans asked if Brownstein might be able to marry them. Right at that moment - on the very spot.

America never really wanted to go to the palace in the first place, she only went for the sake of her family. The longer America stays in the selection at the palace the more money her family recieves. However if America marries Maxon the prince, her family will be royals instead of commoners and that would help them a lot.

I don’t understand why Prince Maxon in The Elite by Kiera Cass is hesitant to propose to America even after she assured him that whenever he decides to propose to her that she will say yes. Why would the prince make the other girls believe they have a chance when he knows that the only girl he wants is America? From the moment he got to know America he fell in love with her and forgot about all the other girls in the competition. So why wait any longer and spend time with the other girls when he knows his heart belongs to America. This is evident when America herself says: “ Now I was his. I knew it. I’d never been so sure. For the first time I could see it. I saw the aisle, the guests waiting, and Maxon standing at the end of it
In the book The One by Kiera Cass, the main character America Singer battles with many decisions like who she loves, how to protect her family, and how to survive the selection. The One is the third book in the selection series, in the first two books America is sent to the selection where she fights for the love of Prince Maxon along with 35 other girls, but America doesn’t want to be there because she loves someone Aspen, her neighbor back in her hometown. Throughout the books America learns who and what she values in her life. The author uses techniques such as Inner thinking to build suspense, support the theme, and show characters motivation.
The book Max can be viewed in the perspective of many different people, the one that is going to be focused on is through the eyes of Max and Justin. Max is a military dog that watched his partner Kyle get killed in action while they were in Afghanistan serving a tour. Max’s job is to protect his partner and to warn him of any danger that may be ahead. After losing his best friend, hero and marine Max becomes traumatized and is no longer able to work with the Marines. Along with the setting that takes place in Afghanistan, there is characterization, conflict, foreshadowing, points of views and symbols throughout the book.
To begin, I have two predictions for the main character, Poppy. The first prediction is that Poppy will not marry Magnus. The first piece of evidence for this prediction is that she feels like she is not good enough for Magnus. His family is a knowledgeable family with many accomplishments, for example they go around the world talking on television and writing books. Poppy feels like she is not smart enough for them because she does not know big words, but she secretly feels that accomplishment is not measured in how many books people have wrote, or how big of words people know. She thinks accomplishment is measured in how people feel at the end of the day, if they feel happy that is an accomplishment. When she is around Magnus’s family her
