The title of my paper is called Kids or No Kids. Today married couples have a big decision on whether or not they want kids. I start out my paper by talking about how important this decision is and how it effects other people. Then I start to talk about all the pros of having kids. After that I point out all the cons of having children. The next part of the paper is all about the pros and cons of not having kids. As you will see there are a lot of different perspectives on this topic. This paper is not to persuade you to have or not to have kids; it is simply just to give you both sides of the topic and a better understanding. I explain all this at the end of the paper.

If you take care of your kids most of their life chances are they will take care of you when the places are reversed. There are also a lot of cons about having children. Kids can be very expensive. A lot of people think having a kid will bring their family closer together when in reality it could tear them apart. If you are not financially stable then you are wasting your time (Anderson). On another note, kids can be very stressful. They need a lot of your time and effort. They are very demanding. You might have to give up a lot of our old ways to accommodate the needs of your child (Anderson). Having a kid is a full time occupation. There will be no days off or rarely any alone time (HubPages). When you first have the baby, you will have sleepless nights (HubPages). There are defiantly a lot of things to talk about if you decide you want to have a baby. Being a parent means that you will worry about your child from the moment they are born until the day that you die (Glatzer). Now there are also a lot of pros and cons if you decide not to have a baby. There are quite a few good things about not having a baby. The first one being that you are still free to do the things you love. You do not have the responsibility of taking care of someone else’s life. You only have to take care of yourself (Glatzer). Another good thing about not having children is you are not being selfish. A lot of people have kids for all the wrong reasons. If you do not have
Have you ever wanted a child? For those that are not dealing with pregnancy, this is a very simple question, that can be answered with only a, “Yeah, having one wold be neat in the future,” or, “No thanks, I don’t really like kids,” But what about those that are pregnant? Having this question of whether or not someone truly wants a child or not can be very complicated for those that maybe aren’t financially stable, have been sexually assaulted and the child is a result of that, or maybe, its just that the person isn’t ready. For those that are not equipped for such a task of responsibility, what would they do? There are several possible options that could be done for those that do not want to have children, or for those that are pregnant but
If I were a parent right now, I would definitely not have nearly the freedom that I have right now. I also would be much more stressed. That would make school harder than it already is, and would probably show negative effects in my grades. My focus would no longer be on my best interest, but my child’s and that would be a huge barrier to cross. I know that I personally am not ready to have a child.

"If I grow up, I'd like to be a bus driver." If -- not when. Sentiments like this echo hauntingly through the pages of Alex Kotlowitz's account of his two-year documentation of the lives of two brothers, Lafeyette and Pharoah Rivers. The boys are afforded little happiness and too much grief, trying to survive from day to day in their appartment at the crime-ridden Henry Horner Homes housing project on the outskirts of Chicago. When Kotlowitz approached the boys' mother, LaJoe, about writing the book about her children, she agreed with him, but felt the need to set him straight. "But you know, there are no chlidren here. They've seen too much to be children," LaJoe told Kotlowitz.
Alex Kotlowitz’s book, There are No Children Here, is a story about two boys, Pharoah and Lafeyette Rivers growing in the late 1980’s in Henry Horner, a housing project in Chicago. The boys try to retain their youth while they see constant gang violence, death of close friends, their brother in jail and their dad struggling with a drug addiction.
The road to parenthood is not all fun and games though, a lot can go wrong. For example there are a number of diseases that both males and females can receive. (Zimmerman, Kim Ann). Cancer is usually the main one people think of, but there is also STD's, HIV, AIDS, and they are all spread from person to person from sexual activity. Along with all the diseases there are many things that can prevent a child from being produced: "Infertility in women is considered a disorder." (Zimmerman, Kim Ann). Although infertility is not a disorder in the male, it is in women because of the fact that the woman carries the babies in their bodies. The partners only need one person to be infertile but also they wont know that they are until the usual birthing process would supposed to be happening. Other problems can occur other than disease, like a pre or post mature baby or in extreme cases even a miscarriage. There are also gender specific cases, the most common is Erectile Disfunction which happens in 1 out of 10 males, doctors are providing pills to erase this condition. (Zimmerman, Kim Ann). Just because you have any one of these conditions does not mean that all hope is lost for having a kid: "Reproductive conditions are treated by a variety of specialists." (Zimmerman, Kim Ann).
The book “There Are No Children Here” follows the life of two young boys, Pharoah and Lafayette as they battle everyday life in the dangerous neighborhood of Henry Horner. Many of the life events of Pharoah and Lafayette’s book “There are no Children Here” can be tied to lessons in the book of “Juvenile Delinquency.” Some of the more prominent themes are macro level theories, critical theory of labeling, juvenile justice system, and drugs and gangs. In this book summary I will be discussing how these theories can be applied to the book “There Are No Children Here.”

There is a contradiction in the mind of teenagers which has been difficult to transcend. The issue of making right decision on the activities they are to embark on and whose counsel to follow has been of high importance to teenagers. Teenagers in the present age find themselves in a tight situation with decision making in that their school psychologists made them realise that being happy is based on the ability to make friends and the development of skills. Meanwhile, teachers and parents advised that, happiness lies on competing and outperforming others.
The Results of Unchecked Ambition William Shakespeare’s skills have allowed us to dive deeper into the human condition and the analyzed results of unchecked ambition through a piece that has stood unrivalled over the centuries known as Macbeth. Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare is a powerful tragic and action packed play where the audience is implanted with a deeper understanding of the results of the decisions that we make. Macbeth is the 16th century story based on a man by the name of Macbeth. He was originally a loyal and honest man, and his descent into murder and unfaithfulness is the tale of how ambition can smear even the cleanest of the souls.
There are many reasons and scenarios to why people may have difficulties in raising a child. Financial reasons may be one of the major reasons people consider abortions or adoptions. It cost a fairly decent amount of money to raise a child and provide for it. In some tragic cases women decide to have an abortion or an adoption due to rape. In such a case it is almost conceivable to consider that as being an exception. Premarital relations and teenage pregnancies are other reasons as to why one would choose either of these alternatives. No teenager wants to be a parent or be forced to grow up while they are still in their youth. In today’s society, the
In The Call of the Wild written by Jack London, Buck doesn’t simply want to survive, he wants to master his environment. His struggle for survival is accented by Charles Darwin’s idea of natural selection, another prominent idea in the story. Likewise, Herbert Spencer’s concept of Social Darwinism is present in the novel. The themes of the struggle for survival as well as the struggle for mastery are integrated throughout The Call of the Wild.
After reading the article, I have come to the opinion that childfree people have legit reasons to not conceive or birth children and their reasons are not just completely black & white choices for their decision. In the article “Childfree by Choice” by Kelly J. Welch, goes well in depth in the increasing growth of young people deciding to not have children. The article brings in factual evidence and intriguing viewpoints that percentages of young or childless adults in modern has a high jump compares to it’s past recordings. The evidence in the article shows multiple reasons theses people chosen this option, but brings up three prominent and logical opinions on what lead to them choosing to not have children. I understand and relate to this topic more than anything else, for I am a young adult myself trying to find my place in this world and one of the main things in my head that constantly comes up is the potential to become a parent later on down the future. Also I am witnessing an increase of my former high school peers becoming parents at very young ages, where an average citizen would think these next generation has much more to give than being a parent right now. So with this thought into my brain I taken the three reasons that interest me to why some people don’t want kids, which are timing, career, and personality.
3. One of the major impacts of couples not having children would have on society has been seen in China with their one child policy. The population will have a larger number of elderly to take care of than it will have of a working population to take care of them, such as social security. Having a child
Let children be children, is not only a popular phrase heard in education, but it is also my motto. Yes, it is true, today’s children are tomorrow’s future; but how we choose to raise our children determines the outcome of our future. Many believe academics should be stressed more in schools, taking away from children’s playtime. I feel that play is what molds a child. Play allows not only a child’s imagination to run freely, but builds and strengthens children’s motor, language, cognitive, and social emotional development skills. I believe that play; along with parental involvement forms a child’s identity. Play is what makes children: tomorrow’s future.
