“Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students” – Solomon Ortiz
Do you agree with this quotation? Thai society believes that education is the key to make them or their child success in their life. It’s true but not totally true. Education is one part of successful. It’s not the whole thing to make us success.
Most of Thai parents will support or coerce their child to study in famous school such as Triam Udom Suksa School, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School and Satriwitaya School which they trust that this academic can make their child smarter than other students and they will have more chance to achieve in admission. Another belief of them is encouraging their child to study in top three private universities in Thailand as Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University and Kasertsart University because it can lead student to find better career so they will have greater future than student who graduate from public university.
Moreover, most of us believe that the higher education degree you have the greater accomplishment you will. However, it has someone who doesn’t have a chance to study in university because they are poor so they need to work so hard to find money to stay alive.
As I mention at first that education is not the whole thing to make our life success. Why? Because some of achievement people don’t graduate from private university and some of them have the highest education level
Andrew Simmons published his article for The Atlantic, “The Danger of Telling Poor Kids that College is the Key to Social Mobility” on January 16, 2014, which raises his concerns that higher education is only being promoted as an opportunity to increase their economic status, when it should be an opportunity to experience an education (Simmons). Through the use of students such as Isabella, Simmons disagrees with the way students now look at higher education and blames the educators through the students’ lives for this view. Instead, Simmons views education as an intellectual opportunity rather than a way to elevate ones economic class which is all people see when they see “higher education.” He believes that education, ambition and work ethic is how you have a satisfying life, not with how much you make. He makes the point that when economics becomes the main goal of education it’s all children begin to think about and they might not pursue something that they are truly passionate about or what they want to learn about, which then does not create an intellectually awakening experience (Simmons).
In Today’s Modern World, Higher Education or College-level education has become a valuable tool to be successful in life. Higher Education not only helps you to get up on your feet but also helps you to secure your and your families future. Higher education not only leads to a happy life but also teaches you how to overcome through some inconvenient situations in your life. Higher Level education opens a whole new world and shows you many more options that you can take in your life. Yes, I Know that colleges are expensive, and students first have to go through this hurdle first of paying for college to get the higher education they need.
Education has been one of the ways I have been able to add competititive advantage in my personal life. Although there are other components critical to my personal success. These include: determination, willingness to learn, and dedication. Having a great job that reaps monetary rewards is great, however, there are other factors necessary to be successful. These include my value as a human being, what do I do for others, how I am with my family, who I am as a fiancé and
“I am inspired by many educators I meet,” he says. “I believe education is at the forefront of humanity having the ability to solve problems.”
In an interview with a local elementary school teacher Elizabeth Romero, when asked the question “Why teach at the elementary level versus teacher higher up such as high school or college?” , She responded with the answer “ I believe that in this time of the kids life is the most influential. If I as a teacher can teach these kids the rights things to do and prepare them for the future than I believe that they all can do great things with their lives.” Mrs. Romero began teaching at the age back in 2004 originally teaching high school. She realized that there was only a select few who chose to excel in their studies. In her words “…some were what some would call lost causes but there were only a select few who put real efforts into their studies.” It was at that moment that
Although holding a degree doesn’t have muchpower as it did decades ago, people who have a bachelor’s degree earn twice as more than peoplewith a high school diploma. Most students do not have the capability of enduring four moreyears of college, and furthermore indicate that not everyone should be able to attend highereducation.Higher education is supposed to be considered an essential component of a democraticsociety. It is almost a rite of passage to seek college after high school graduation. Societynowadays requires basic analysis of finance, education, and public health in order to prosper inAmerica. But due to low demand of motivation for college, students are highly discouraged on
One such educational opportunity is college, which studies have shown that students with low incomes are less likely to enroll at or graduate from (Left Behind). Meanwhile, 90% of students with high incomes are still enrolling and participating at colleges (Left Behind). In addition, one’s education is compromised when funding for schools is low or non-existent as schools cannot afford the necessary materials for learning. Unsurprisingly, without an education, one does not possess the required knowledge to attain and maintain a high paying
It is assumed that if you are poor then you will not receive a form of higher education. It is even more realistic that when this is the case lack of education impairs your chances of gaining ground beyond that of poverty. About 34% of unemployed people never got a high school diploma compared to the 6% of unemployed people who have attained a bachelor's degree (U.S. Census Bureau). These unemployed individuals never got the education needed to hold a middle-class worthy job so they live in poverty. This chart below demonstrates how education increases chances of employment, allowing an income that may keep you above poverty level.
On the other side, the economy of Texas and Florida lost 33,000 jobs in September 2017, unemployment rates also dropped down to 4.2%. Unemployment situation is increasing seriously in America. Finding a job is so hard, and recruitment company always required their employees who have bachelor or master degree, they also compete each other for getting a job. The State Higher Education Executive Officers Association reported a high school degree earned a median average of $300,000 per year; nevertheless, bachelor’s degrees and advanced degrees earned from $50,000 to $70,000 a year. Therefore, if we don’t have a good education, our dream will be compromised. Furthermore, preparing a good education is the best investment because it helps us live out American Dream that is called a success and finance. America is developed country so education is a necessary factor for growing economies. Otherwise, a good education is known as our honor and outward appearance that give us more confident to contact with many people. Evidently, person isn’t complete perfect if they don’t have education because it is not only a key to success but also a door to open our
“What If the Secret to Success is Failure?” by Paul Tough presents how Dominic Randolph, the headmaster of Riverdale Country School, wants his students to succeed, but he believes that in order to succeed, you have to learn how to fail. It is believed that character is the most important part for success. Dominic Randolph, and David Levin, superintendent of the Knowledge in Power Program (KIPP) schools, work together in order to to reach a conclusion, that is character traits is needed in order to succeed in academic and in life. Though a student could be smart in academics, but he has to have character in order to succeed. “The Inverse Power of Praise” by Po Bronson and Ashley Merriman cite how praising a child too much could affect their
Now a days, education plays an important role in everyones's carrier. Be it at college level or at university. The only thing that distinguishes a person from others in a crowd is his qualification. “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” – Henry B. Adams. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to play a big part in children’s education, which is why I have decided to enroll for an education course. I believe that educators have a lifelong impact on their students and on the development of resilience. Thus, I aspire to inculcate my love for learning into the next generation, by influencing and inspiring children all through their formal education.
As of late, there has been major contention about the standards of American education, one of the major points being the cost to obtain a degree. Current societal standards have condition people to aim for a prestigious degree that will help make it 's holder successful. Of course, society defines success, for an individual, as being highly intelligent, outgoing, wealthy, and family-oriented. Yet, many American citizens are still stuck trying to meet the first item in the success definition. If a person refuses to attend post-secondary school in fear that the certificate of completion will offer no return on investment, or decides to quit due to financial hardships, then how can society uphold its expectation of that person 's success? Much work needs to be done to assuage the fear of a wasted investment, to motivate an individual to continue attending school despite financial difficulties, and to help individuals achieve the expected level of success that comes from higher education.
Michelle Obama says the key to life is success being successful. If you want to live a successful life then you must get an education.
Throughout the history of civilization, education has been an important tool in shaping an individual as well as the society that the individual is a part of. In the older civilizations, only the elite upper class had access to education. This kept these people at the top of the social ladder, and suppressed the common people who did not have access to the same education as the nobles. We have come a long way since then, with every child having access to a free high school degree. However, there is still some inequality in this modern education system that has similarities to the old injustices. In this day and age, a college degree is a great start for a young adult starting to enter the work force. According to a study conducted by Pew
