Kent State University (KSU) is a college campus in Kent, Ohio that has over 28,000 students enrolled, many who enjoy the various restaurants throughout downtown Kent. For example, a simple drink such as a gin and tonic can have 10 or more different price options. Each type of gin the bar has in stock has a different price. Customers might want diet tonic or even a double shot of gin. With multiple combinations available for every normal drink the bar serves, it would be incredibly tedious and time consuming for a menu to be created. Bar managers also feel that normal drink menus will not vary much from bar to bar. What makes each bar unique is the environment and its specials. Consensus: With the apparent pushback from bar managers, making a menu will not be as easy as we had originally thought. Our solution has to provide some sort of accurate menu for the students, without being overwhelmingly large, but it also cannot be so small that it makes students feel limited in their options. 2-2. Specials: Students: Specials are an important requirement for students. Specials are how students are going to save the most money while also being able to frequently try new things. Currently, many bars do not post their specials anywhere besides in the bar itself. This makes it difficult for students to know what the bars have to offer. Even students who go regularly have told us that they have been to the same bar week after week and didn’t know that a particular special existed. Some have stated that specials on the weekend are particularly sought after and are the most

Council Bill 20-409 establishes adequacy by addressing the social concern of marijuana possession in small amounts for personal use. Prior to the bill, individuals were charged with a criminal offense which remains on their permanent record. Having said violation on a permanent record potentially has negative effects on employment status and housing options. The bill, which decriminalizes small amounts of marijuana now provides for individuals caught in possession the opportunity for a self-sufficient life.

Focusing on more of a diverse food menu alone can generate more foot traffic . People may avoid The Dive due to the lack of food options since we are more well known as a drinking spot. It is my opinion that HBCU’s certainly do remain not only relevant, but also necessary. HBCU’s were originally established due African American’s pursuit of an education and the acquiring a piece of the “American Dream” was thwarted by racial segregation. HBCU’s provided our young men and women with an education and developed future leaders. I came into Norwalk Community College looking for a fresh start. I previously attended a 4 year university that became too much for me; attending school full-time, working 30 hours per week while trying to enjoy the college experience. At the cost of an “experience” I ended up failing most of my classes, putting my health at risk drowned by the tremendous amount of stress and just wanted to completely give up. Though this decision created self-doubt in the beginning, it soon came to my realization that it was the best decision I ever made. Immersed in an environment full of positive people, I was able to put my pieces back together.
