Kayla and Serenity

In a small town named Switzerfield there was a little boy named John Parker Lyons. Over the years of hard work, and stress John grew very goofy. At first, everyone at his school thought it was funny and just a joke. Once at his school concert while everybody was gathering there things and leaving he was dancing. He was prancing around on stage not looking where he was going when he fell off the stage onto the ice-cream seller. Everyone just laughed at him. Nothing was the same for him.

Later that night Amira started singing because singing always makes her feel better. When Amira was singing quietly to herself she imagined her grandma there with her. Soon enough when she finished she noticed how quiet everyone in the auditorium was. Everyone had been listening to her but everyone liked her voice. The people clapped and clapped and cheered her on “Bravo, bravo!”

An incoming freshman who goes by the name of Junie B. Jones had her first day of high school today. It was her first time ever driving to school without a parent present in the car, and boy was she nervous. After she had gotten ready and eaten breakfast, she headed out for her first day at a school called Dubuque Senior High school. As soon as she gets there she realizes she'd have to parallel park because all the parking spots in the lot were sadly taken. Junie was nervous, she'd never parallel parked before and this time everyone was watching her. It was time for Junie to make her move and she wings it! It was a huge relief for her, and she was just happy nobody saw her terribly mess up on parking, and didnt make a bad first impression.

In life, people can gain friends quickly, but what no one talks about is that they can lose them just as fast. I learned how quickly a friendship can begin and end about two years ago. In August of 2013 a girl named Moriah Ebron was deemed my best friend. She lived in Delaware while I was all the way in West Virginia. That was a small challenge, but we made it work. We were able to visit each other and have an amazing friendship, but suddenly, something went terribly wrong. Never had I realized how fast friendships can end until I became friends with Moriah Ebron. This is an epic story of friendships and trials as well as love and hate. This is all about how I gained and lost a best friend in the same amount of time, and how that shaped me as a person.

A four-year-old girl named Lila was in need of a kidney transplant. The family had looked all over the country to find a match, but they were not able to find one. The next day Emily was to return back to school. Emily knew no one was going to talk to her for a very long time. Emily went shunned for days. She began to fear no one would ever talk to her again. While waiting in line at the ice rink one day, a little boy smiled at me and began making the cutest funny faces. He looked about four years old. My friend and I made funny faces back at him before going off to skate. Thirty minutes later, I noticed the boy again. His mother wanted him to skate, but only encouraged him from the sidelines since she wasn’t wearing skates. I asked my friend if we should help the little boy. She agreed. The mom smiled and nodded her head when we asked her. The little boy was so energetic. My friend and I took turns holding him up and steadying him. After an hour passed, he skated with a walker by himself.

She has nothing to show, but she tells the class that her brother died. She says, “I the only Park now. I keep my name like boy” (Na, 2001, p. 35). A boy asks how he died, but the teacher gets upset and tells him not to ask that. On Fridays, the class makes warm fuzzies, but the teacher decided to have the class make them for her.

The Movie New Year Baby is a documentary directed by Socheata that delves into the Poeuv family’s past of fleeing from Cambodia during the reign of the Communist, Khmer Rogue and how it has affected their family, despite living in America. I would like to focus on Kear Poeuv who is Socheata’s mother. Poeuv created an artificially, normal life while coercing her family to live a lie. Kear reflects the opposite of the Chinese Existential principle as the mother does not confront conflicts that have arisen in life and deal with them directly. Kear’s response to her conflicts that have arisen can relate to Skinner’s personality theories of how past traumas can affect future behaviors
