Three minutes, that is the average length of most popular songs that are available today. Three minutes is all it takes to send a message and have it resonate with its intended audience. All songs are written to have a meaning, but many listeners rarely analyze the lyrics to understand what the meaning really is. Unlike the article “17 Things You Should Do If You Are Struggling With Self-Love”, song lyrics are purposefully written in an indirect way so that the meaning is almost hidden from the audience. The messages in the article tend to be easier to identify since many people tend to analyze written material rather than songs. Style wise, this song was a little different for Katy Perry. The upbeat tempo helped the syllables of the words fit into a flowing musical meter. This caused the song to be very appealing to listeners, making it a very successful song. Katy Perry's purpose still remained to send out a message of loving who you are, regardless of your differences and always staying strong. Songs usually evoke some type of emotion and “Firework” is no exception. The repeated phrases “Just own the night” and “show’em what you’re worth” are sung by Katy Perry but echoed with bright sounding music and strong vocals. This method moved the listener and inspires them once they understand the meaning behind the song. The music video gave the song a visual element that followed a storyline. The audience we are trying to target with this song are young adults to adults. As artists, we want our music to influence people positively yet also be a form of entertainment. Compared to an online article, this message we are trying to get across is hidden in our lyrics but our purpose still remains to remind people that you are not alone. This song represents the talents that i have and what I have that we call determination. the song is fun and addicting for the whole family and more. Talent is tricky subject to get into, because this can go into many categories. I don't have many talents, but i get by and get the job done. In oak hill high school i was a silent and did not interact with anyone during class and man did i have bad acne. That's in the past and I grew confidence and i'm a manager at kfc. So things are not bad as their were back in the day when i was young and free. That's not the subject at hand, talents are really helpful and can entertain for years to come. Having no talent would make a person into that business guy that nobody likes. I mean nobody wants to be left out (except emos). The artist artist 009 sound system can be a good contender on what a person wants to be when the grow up and goto college” You can do anything you want to” that phrase helps represents the talent of adapting which I found out to be the most helpful to me. anyways talent can be a major part of like and should be taken seriously one day that talent can get that job the everyone else
In Katy Perry’s song “Roar,” she inspires several to stand up for what they believe in and not let other people push them down. It is trying to motivate people to come back as a better and stronger person and be proud of who you are. The lyrics in this song are very inspirational considering the fact that they are trying to explain that you don’t have to be afraid of other people and know that you are an excellent person. We should be proud of who we are and accept the fact that we are going to get pushed down by other people, but we are able to come back as a stronger person. Sometimes you are going to be beaten down by someone, but you have to prove to them that you are not going to accept those actions and revive as a different person.
The first song I chose is Firework. I chose firework because it uses a lot of figurative language, such as simile. Katy Perry firework, do u ever feel like a plastic bag. That’s a simile because she is comparing you to a plastic bag. Another form of figurative language is a metaphor, cause baby you’re a firework. That is a metaphor because she's saying you’re a firework. Another form of figurative language is a idiom, come on let your colors burst. That is a idiom because she telling you to let your colors burst like show what can do. Those are a few examples of a figurative language in firework by Katy Perry.
The idea of “The Fire” started when Billy Joel was talking to one of his friends about how crazy it is to live in an era with all these things happening. The song suggests the spark of something in history. The fire is a representation of the start of an idea or fad in history. While there's always things coming up in history there were always things before it and always things coming after it. In the song Billy Joel mentions the moon landing as a part of the fire.
Different songs can have different intentions on what message they are trying to send to the listener. As the listener, they are the only ones who interpret what they think about the song or if they like it or not. To me certain songs have lyrics that tell stories and teach life lessons and other songs I don’t even have to listen to the lyrics to like the song. Songs can reflect different sides to a person and may also relate to people’s lives. Through my three songs “Logic – The Come Up” and “Yung Dash – Momma I Made It” they represent the saying of “You will get knocked down but it’s your choice whether to get back up or not” as well as not letting anyone who doubts you get in your way with whatever you are working for.
This song creates yet another heartwarming story by incorporating the values of love and marriage into its lyrics. For example, the line “So, we planned it all out for the middle of June, from the wedding cake to the honeymoon, and your momma cried when you walked down the aisle,” gives the audience the classic, lovely vision of getting married. Similar lyrics in the song such as “Yeah baby I love you a lot” and “I think we’ve got a real good shot” also tie in the human desire to be loved by another individual. These specific lyrics are significant because they all appeal to human nature’s yearning for interpersonal connection. This means an audience member can connect to the lyrics in this song on a deep level.
Pink sings about the difficult past that has shaped her personal life. Pink not only sings to express herself and her emotions but also to express what she feels her mission is in life. She describes her mission as wanting to open minds and break stereotypes in music, sex, and everything, and that's just what she does through the lyrics and the powerful message she sends. Pink captures the heart of the neglected, angry, lonely, outcast, those experiencing family dissolution, confused teens, and youth of today's culture. “Her lyrics capture that same take control of life resolve” (Pink-Reflecting).
Roar In the song “Roar” by Katy Perry, the message encourages you never to give up. This is very helpful in many people's lives, because everyone has their own struggles they go through everyday. Katy Perry uses many literary terms throughout her song. “Louder than a lion” and “I am a champion” are hyperboles she uses, she over exaggerates.
Her music allowed her to escape reality, leaving her with a smile on her face at the end of the video. A short escape to something enjoyable can lead to easy
There are thousands of songs, and the artists and songwriters who wrote them. Each song has their own meaning, which the listener can identify by, can relate to. The listener can listen to the beat, the lyrics, anything about the song, and connect with it. Music is unlike anything else. There is nothing else that can mend a broken soul, get a message across, or a way to identify with as music can and will.
Boom, Boom, Boom! Is an example of onomatopoeia, which is a figurative language. In the song “Fireworks” by Katy Perry is filled with numerous types of figurative language and poetic elements. From personification to internal rhyme, there is more to it. Along with that, there are means behind the words. Throughout the song, what the singer is saying is that you are unique and that you should show others what you got.
Katy Perry “Firework” song is a power anthem which plays a huge role when it comes to popular culture in today’s society. It creates an empowering message to women by portraying them as strong willed, independent human beings rather than the stereotypical portrayal of women who depend on men. Although in the movie, the song Firework is used as a encouraging anthem to children because it is a children’s movie. In the Hollywood reporter review article it states that the 3d scene helps influence the song choice because it is a very loud and fun song. The song portrays women to be as strong as men, although the film i chose doesn’t express the song in that way.
Katy Perry takes a similar approach by creating a song that allows people to be the way they are. Katy Perry had created the song “Fireworks.“ This song is an inspirational song that allows people to reveal themselves to the true world instead of keeping it a secret. Katy is trying to portray the fact that people should not be afraid to represent the way they truly are. She wants everyone to show his or her “true colors“. In a sense, Katy wants to people to embrace what they are. In the first few lines she states, “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag. Drifting through the wind. Wanting to start again“ (Fireworks). This part of the song reveals that a lot of people go with the flow. They just follow the norms of society and do not fight against it. She continues on to talk about how people continue to go with the flow until she states, “Do you know that there 's still a chance for you. 'Cause there 's a spark in you“ (Fireworks). This portion of the song reveals there is hope even if want to go against the norm. Just a small push is needed in order to get over the hurdle. Then Katy states, “ 'Cause baby you 're a firework. Come and show 'em what you 're worth. Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh! As you shoot across the sky-y-y“ (Fireworks). When you do reveal yourself, it will feel like a huge burden is lifted off your shoulders. Katy is trying to say to her fans be motivated and keep reaching for the stars. Being unique might be a bad thing, but don‘t let their voice reach you.
This song has a lot of emotion behind it. I believe that when Beyoncé sings this song, she is sending off a message to the families of those who lost their lives during 9/11. She is singing from the victim’s point of view saying to remember me for the positive impact I have made in the world and how I strived to make the world a better place. She is singing to tell us that no matter how rich, successful, or famous you may be, always live your life to the fullest because you never know when it
The tone she brings about in her first statement is one of concern. By asking a rhetorical question like, “are we crazy,” Perry makes the listeners question their actions and self-reflect (1-2). In addition, she also asks her onlookers if they are satisfied with the way they live life. This question also requires self-reflection. Later in the song, she asks her listeners if they are tone deaf. With words like “crazy” and “tone deaf” having negative connotations, it makes people more aware of the issue Perry is bringing to light. Throughout the first two verses, Perry’s lyrics hold a tone of concern, but when the verses turn to the chorus, the tone changes from concern to mocking.
