Kanye West. One of the most meaningful names in history, where it is literally decorated with a bunch of different meanings. In the everyday society, it is a phenomenon popularly known as the Kanye West Effect, signifying obnoxious confidence. In the pop realm, it alludes to ill-mannered individuals whose actions are often defined by reckless behavior. In the business world, it represents the underestimated success of self-starters. In my English class, however, it refers to the creative introductions to essays, in which success is what we strive for, confidence is what we intend to attain, and reckless behavior is what we are encouraged to avoid. In other words, Kanye West has become the symbolic figure in my English course, representing …show more content…
I am, indeed, a quite arrogant and ambitious individual, two attributes that most distinctively define me. When an ordinary student enters a classroom, s/he usually is entering with a goal of learning. On the other hand, I am the student who enters a classroom with the mindset that thy are not worthy of my patience. This mindset can only be dissolved when the professor exceeds the arrogance and confidence that I maintain. And Professor had successfully broken my stubborn walls of ego, only to repair it sixteen weeks later into a stronger wall of ego. When my walls are broken, I tend to rebuild them off of what I take from the destroyer, who in this case was Professor. Without the walls, I generally strive to learn and grasp and prove myself, and that is exactly what had happened. During this period of “walllessness,” I was introduced to two major weakness of mine that consistently got in the way of my writing: verbosity and insistence. It is hard to admit, though the truth is as blatant as can possibly be, that verbosity is a refuge for desperate writers trying to not look desperate. Verbosity reliably contaminates my literary pieces, whether this be a letter, a research essay, or even a poem. With complete gratitude, I would like to note that Professor was brutally honest with this fault of mine, but it was for my sake, which I completely respect. Perhaps using “irrevocability” to define “ultimate defeat” was
The controversial artist Kanye West has always attempted to make known what he thinks, no matter if he has to be disrespectful or graphic in his illustrations of said topic. So it wasn't a real surprise when he chose to focus his energy into reveling to the American public horrors happening that had a direct connection with the beloved diamond stone. West's 2005 music video “Diamonds from Sierra Leone” shows the corrupted underground diamond trade in the African country, Sierra Leone. From this groundbreaking video, West showed the devastated lives those who worked on the mining rivers live. However upon further investigation into the issue of diamond workers in Sierra Leone there emerged the true source of the situation, a violent
Throughout history, the biggest reforms in government, philosophy, and behavior have been made by freethinking and outspoken people. People such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela changed the world with their actions and words. While others, including Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Walt Disney implement their talents to business to change the world. All are spoken highly of and are highly regarded. One name that is wrongly ostracized from this list is Kanye West. Kanye West is an intelligent person whose actions and outbursts, despite the media’s attempts to make them look incoherent and uncivilized, actually come from a place of goodwill and promote a platform of freethinking.

When I was younger my mom always played music loud around the house while cleaning up. She kept stacks of cds in the car. Majority of the time we listened to female r&b artist. Growing up I was exposed to female singers like Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, and Erykah Badu ect. The song I always enjoyed singing was “Tyrone” because it’s funny. The live performance for this song is very entertaining too because she’s a great performer and the band is great. Badu is very lyrical and some of her songs can be described as poetry. Her amazing creativity really stands out in the Def Jam Poetry. This is a performance I’ll always enjoy watching.

Kanye West produced the popular song “All Falls Down” in 2004. He is well known for creating many wonderful tunes but this one stands out above the rest. While his other songs contain bass-heavy instrumentals and contain lyrics about money and women, this one is strays away from the previous structures. “All Falls Down” catches the attention of youth, with its mellow melody, to send a strong message concerning the overemphasis on money and education and how it can be harmful through the lyrics.
