I would like to inform you that today there was a fight at our juvenile detention center. The children that were involved was a boy named Stanley Yelnats, Hector Zeroni, and the main participant was named Rick. The incident took place around 12:00 p.m. and in the middle of the field where all of the boys dig their holes during the day. I pulled up in the water truck with all of the boys lunches and water to fill their canteens. Just like any other day hey all lined up and the only thing that seemed different was that Stanley was near the front of the line and not at the back where he usually is. I didn’t really suspect anything that was going to happen. The boys were having their regular chit-chat as I handed them their lunches and filled their canteens with some fresh water and then went to the back of the truck to go get some ore lunches for the rest of the boys. While I was in the back of the truck I heard something about someone wanting someone else to take their cookie, the only thing I thought was that they wanted to be nice to each other for a change. I continued to take the lunches back and …show more content…
I was paralyzed with shock and I had no idea what to do next. The other boy next to Rick had a scared look on his face. I stood there for a split second then decided to do something about this. Everyone was standing around the boys wondering what would happen next. I quickly ran to the water truck to grab my pistol trying to make sure that no one would see me so I could get there faster. I then sprinted across to where all of the other boys were huddled up and put my pistol in the air and shot it into the purple and drowsy looking sky. Hector jumped off Rick and ran away to the middle of nowhere, and no one tried to stop him. That was the reason that I am writing you this letter today about this tragic incident. Have a pleasurable rest of your day,
While I was at the school, a subject, who requested to remain anonymous and would not provide me with his name, stated he believed the juvenile males Officer Pedersen and I were contacting earlier were the males who knocked over the bin. The subject told me he did not know which one of the males knocked the bin over, but went on to say the males threw rocks at the front door of the school. I walked to the front door and did not see any damage to the windows or doors and I did not see any rocks on the ground near doors.

In Medina’s text, “Why the U.S. juvenile justice system needs serious reform,” she presents three main claims. The main claim is that the juvenile justice system is inhumane. The secondary claim is that the system is ineffective. Lastly, the third claim is that the system is expensive. In her first claim, in which she states that the system is inhumane. That stands for “Without compassion for misery and suffering; cruel.” She carries reasons why the juvenile justice system is cruel. The first example shows what occurs in the situations youth offenders end up in a detention facility. Maria Medina states “They spend more than 22 hours in solitary with nothing but a book or a Bible, and if lucky study materials.” Medina uses the rhetorical
On Tuesday, November 08, 2016, I, Officer B. McMillon, #135, of the Mansfield ISD Police Department was on assignment at Legacy High School located at 1263 N. Main in Mansfield, Texas 76063. At approximately 12:00 pm I was informed by AP Cousins, Leonard B/M, dob 03/06/1962 in regards to a physical altercation that occurred in the third floor boy’s rest room.
Luvelle Kennon barged into his daughter’s school during the early afternoon and attacked an elderly teacher, who he then dragged into a nearby classroom and held hostage for hours. Luckily, the teacher’s students were out of the classroom at the time and did not witness the altercation. A fellow teacher attempted to stop the incident, but was beaten by Kennon. Police were called several minutes after the incident began.
My orotund voice elevated around the room as I presented the final youth speech to the California State Board of Education. I remember the cheers of my fellow youth advocates as I walked out of the building with poised shoulders and my internal giddiness. Nevertheless, I knew that the time I spent at Californians for Justice was worth it.
Within a century ago, juveniles justice system were created because of the unspeakable acts of kids learned in adult jails when placed in that interment. when juveniles are placed with adult prisoners , the juveniles return to the community as a more knowledgable criminal.

Australia's juvenile detention system is breaking apart. It's time we started seeing our wayward youth as young people needing support and rehabilitation rather than merely callous criminals to be punitively punished, degraded and demeaned writes Anna Tran.
Serious crimes such as murder, burglary and rape have raised questions as to whether the young offenders should face severe punitive treatment or the normal punitive measures in juvenile courts. Many would prefer the juveniles given harsh punishment in order to discourage other young people from engaging in similar activities and to serve as a lesson to these particular offenders. However, results from previous studies indicate such punitive measures were neither successful nor morally acceptable. Instead, the solutions achieved have unfairly treated the youths and compromised the society status (Kristin, page 1).
A deep look into juveniles in adult prisons. Touch bases on several smaller issues that contribute to juveniles being in and effects of adult prisons. The United States Bureau of Prisons handles two hundred and thirty-nine juveniles and their average age is seventeen. Execution of juveniles, The United States is one of only six countries to execute juveniles. There are sixty-eight juveniles sitting on death row for crimes committed as juveniles. Forty-three of those inmates are minorities. People, who are too young to vote, drink alcohol, or drive are held to the same standard of responsibility as adults. In prisons, they argue that the juveniles become targets of older, more hardened criminals. Brian
