Juvenile boot camps are styled after military training camps and are designed to instill disciple and structure in young people. It started as an alternative to jail teenagers who had committed crimes and most state run programs for these troubled teens. The biggest advantage of boot camps are that they teach self-control, responsibility, and respect for authority. In a typical teen boot camp they are required to get up, shower, get dressed in their uniforms, study, work or play according to their daily schedule. According to the researchers, teens who found success in boot camp generally reported that the camp’s control and structure helped them on how to control themselves better. They always emphasize on disciple and responsibility, camps avoid feelings of homesick or depression. If the teen has self esteem issues it is best to find an alternative way to deal with them., for boot camps are not a right option for emotionally behaviors. All teens are treated equal, physically unfit or physically challenged teens will be included in the same physical training as the others. There is no exceptions made for unfit teens, to most it is unfair and unjust but that is how boot camps
All of these things that go into the training are just to make the soldier more aware of the choices they have, and to make sure they understand they are not alone in this.

While legislative attempts to properly address and correct boot camp abuses and inadequacies, there are several promising alternatives to these private military style facilities. Multi-systemic therapy, which aims to keep offenders and their families together and works on problems in a practical home setting, avoids the problems that come with returning juveniles from restricted settings to the real world. A report done by the Wisconsin Council on (Children and Families) revealed that programs that promote a supportive family environment in the community are most effective at reducing recidivism and encouraging positive adolescent brain maturation. Every crime that people commit have consequences, depending on how big the crime was, the consequences can be worst and worst, those crimes can be paid on jail or community service, if you go to jail, and you are an adult, you are going to a jail in which everybody is an adult, or if you are an juvenile you are going to rehabilitation center, which is like jail but for juveniles. If you committed a crime, the court will decide where are you gonna go or how are you gonna pay for your crime, that is determined by whether you are an adult or a young person, they can say that you are an adult or a young person by your age, those ages can change according in what city or country you are. There are two kind of systems that say what is gonna be penance, those systems are the adult justice system and the juvenile justice system. This document is about the juvenile justice system in comparison to the adult justice system.
Now looking back I realize that 1 group of people can sit together and change the world I really and deeply care for people who need help in any way. I started to be a little less self centered and decided to be a little more caring to others who had less things than I did. My experience at the camp let me see how some people are living a hard life. I know that school is the only way to learn to stay out of those sad times. But every time I go to bed It reminds me of the people who needs someone who is happy with life the way they have
Imagine you are eighteen, just graduated high school. You decide to enlist into the United States Army. It is your first time away from home, your first real job outside of a summer job. This is your first time away from home, everything you grew up to know, your friends and family. This is the case with many newly enlisted Soldiers. The Army is their first real world experience away from home and the feeling can be overwhelming. Not only do they need to figure out how to be a Soldier but also an adult, a functioning member of society. So what do they do? They will rely on the guidance and experience of another, a Mentor.
The discussions surrounding boot camps has always been extremely controversial. Many question the abilities of the inmates to learn with the strict military style regimen ( O’Neill, MaKenzie, and Bierie 2007). Although there are many basic similarities among the boot camps other aspects differ greatly. Each program is constructed differently with
According to Brad Plumer in the article Throwing Children in Prison Turns out To be a Really Bad Idea, “The United States still puts more children and teenagers in juvenile detention than any other developed nations in the world, with about 70,000 detained on any given day in 2010. And as it turns out, this is very likely a bad idea” (Plumer, 15). Juvenile delinquents are children under eighteen years old that commit illegal crimes. Juvenile delinquents are kids that are likely to come from an urban area where they lack education opportunities. They are defiant, hostile and impulsive. They started to commit crimes because of the lack of economic opportunities they were facing. For example, in urban areas they do not have any jobs

Juvenile boot camps (shock or intensive incarceration programs) are a short - term residential programs that resembles military basic training and target adjudicated juvenile offenders. The reasoning behind having juvenile boot camps is to shorten the time that the offenders are given for their sentence. Boot camp is meant for trouble teens who have a minor jail or prison sentence. If they fail to complete the whole sixteen month program they will be sent to jail or either state prison to complete the full years of their sentence. The correctional boot camp program is meant to be an eye opener for teenagers to see that there is more to life than just getting in trouble. Most of the teenagers that end up going to prison or jail are the
I have found the process of self and learning reflection to be very therapeutic and using the Blackboard Learning Tool, (Blackboard Learning, 2013) focusses my thoughts and my state of being. I have committed to journal entries on a biweekly basis on a Wednesday and Sunday evening. A key tool for effectively recording and unpacking complex information is the Henley Mind Map Tool. (Buzan, 2006), (Appendix 2 – PD1) The key focus on the journey of my MBA will be to manage my time effectively and make sure that my 60 hours a month are incorporated into my work and family life in a successful manner.
In every corner of the Earth, there’s art. In houses, nature, outside. If you don’t notice, you aren’t looking hard enough. Creating art is extremely important to me. All types ranging from music, painting, using Prisma colors and more. Art has always been present in my life, but I began to get serious about it when I visited my Aunt’s home last year. I saw my cousin sketching in a small notebook with a black pen. I asked her what she was doing, and she showed me some pages. It mesmerized me. Her drawings were so flawless, but best of all, they looked like fun. From that day forward, I vowed to make art a part of my world, including all the practicing, art-block and the different mediums of art.
