One of the proudest moments in my life is when I hit a homerun that won the game for my baseball team. I just completed the sixth grade and was looking forward to baseball season with my friends that summer. I was so happy we were all on the same team, the Red Wings. I was playing second base, and for the first time, I felt confident about my position. I didn’t let a ball get past me. I was catching and throwing that ball like a pro. In addition, I was hitting balls like never before, and scoring runs for the team. For the first time since T ball I felt like a real star!
Throughout my entire life I have always sought to be the best version of myself that I can be. I believe that through hard work and dedication anything is accomplishable. From being the valedictorian and starting quarterback at my middle school, my love for academics and sports has motivated me to stay focused in my high school career and onwards.
It was the last day of school where we got our report cards and it stated what our 6th grade classroom would be. I was a very weak student and I ended up in a place that wasn’t my best. People have made so many comments and put so many labels, but I pushed myself to change. Ever since this moment I have worked hard to make a change. I’ve had put so much pressure on myself and now I have the honor of being the one to stand here, in front of all of you as your Valedictorian.
From the passing of our mother until last year my brother decided to go back to our hometown in Los Altos de Jalisco, to live with our family. I encouraged him to come to live with me and to continue his education here in the U.S., to which he agreed. He recently graduated from H. M. King high school and has been accepted into Texas A&M University - Kingsville.
My proudest moment was probably last year from the middle of January until the end of February. I didn’t lose a match. From a tournament on January 21st, I won every single match from there until sectionals.
On September 1, 2012, I walked into my fifth grade teacher’s classroom for the first time in my life. Mrs.Cullen was standing in the front of the door with open arms ready to welcome her new fifth grade students. As I made my way to my desk and sat down next to Charlie Schutt and Quin Timmerman, I got the feeling that middle school would be a time of talking to some of my best friends and cruising through classes. As the school year progressed, and classroom seats changed, my thought of how Middle school would be changed as well. On the first day Mrs.Cullen explained our schedule, Homework detentions, and demerits. After about fifty questions, she sent us off to our first class, and the first step of our Middle School journey. The fifth grade

Every human being has their own career aspirations. A college student mindset is different than high school student. They must have a multiple initiative and active learning. I was about to face my greatest challenge in my new life. How to fit in with people in middle school. Arriving in America was already hard to adjust, what more can it be with my school life. It was in August when my school started. I was already nervous, and I haven’t even step foot from this mysterious school that I’m about to spend 2 years of my life.
Everyone must make a choice, once they reach a certain age, that will determine everything in their life. My dream job is to become an electrical engineer one day because I find interest in circuits and building electronic devices. When I was a young boy my dream not to be an electric engineer but something more along the lines of being a cook; however, that dream was short lived because my interest of being able to cook changed over as I got older and became interested in electronics. The way electronics work is simply amusing to me because I could not understand how the devices were operating, and honestly I still may not understand how these devices actually work. My backup plan for my future career would have to be becoming a
Imperialism occurs when a strong nation takes over a weaker nation or region and dominates its economic, political, and cultural life. Colonialism is a key component of Imperialism going as far back as ancient time. Establishing colonization affects a nation’s world dominance and power. Imperialism began in the world of exploration and continues today in the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. Imperialism has changed through time. “Old Imperialism” was aggression, military invasions, diplomatic pressures, take-overs and colonization. “New Imperialism” has many differences. The strongest being that it is more economic than military.
