The reason for this is because many of these Chicanos/as find their inspiration from Los Tres Grandes (The Big Three). These are Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco and David Alfaro Siquieros; three of the most prominent male artist in Mexican history. Also, murals were an easy method of recording history and telling stories that were about the Chicano movement and the fair representation of this culture.

When Vargas died in 1705 after repossessing the governorship in 1703, he was succeeded by Governor Francisco Cuervo y Valdes. Governor Cuervo y Valdes campaigned for a more militant approach against the indigenous tribes, predominantly the Navajos, whose troublesome acts were thought to be influencing the Pueblos to resist the Spanish’s reoccupation. Cuervo in June 1705 launched successive offensive attacks against the Gila Apaches, coming back to the Navajos, who were stealing cattle from settlers and missionaries. I am Joshua Sosa, the newspaper reporter, introducing a famous Mexican artist, Diego Rivera. Guanajuato, Mexico and December 8th of 1886 is the time and place where Rivera was born. His passion for art began in his early life and kept constantly growing inside of him. Diego commenced his studies of art in the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts in Mexico City. In 1907, Rivera traveled to Europe, there he was inspired by many influential artist, was inspired to make murals, and meaningful artwork.
The Mexican muralist I have chosen is Diego Rivera. I have chosen him because I think his works are some of the more interesting ones from this time. He stands out as a muralist who bravely painted the social and political scenes of his country. He portrays these to the public in order to educate the poor and the illiterate to the reality of the times they were living in. In this essay I will discuss Rivera’s career, and compare and contrast three of his murals in the context of the Mexican muralist movement.
1. Frida Kahlo is one not only Mexico's most iconic artists, but one of the world's most iconic artists as well. She was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyocoan Mexico City, Mexico. Her father was of German descent and migrated to Mexico where he met her mother, who was half Spanish and half AmerIndian. She also had three sisters. Frida was always very close to her father, and was very proud of her Mexican heritage. During her childhood, she contracted a disease called Polio. She was very ill and had to stay in bed for a whole 9 months. The disease caused her right leg to become much skinnier and weaker than the left one. She had a permanent limp because of it and always wore long skirts to hide it. She met her future husband, Diego Rivera, when she was in preparatory school. One day in 1922, she was on a Bus and got in a horrific accident. She was severely injured, as a steel rail impaled her through the hip. During her period of recovery is when she began to paint her famous self-portraits. Frida and Diego reconnected in 1928 and them married in 1929. Their marriage, however, wasn't a healthy one. Diego cheated on Frida many times and they lived in separate houses. Frida, given her condition was always very depressed. She sadly passed away in 1954. Her death was reported to be caused by a pulmonary embolism, but many suspect her death may not have been accidental.
Her paintings represented “the cultural nationalism of [Mexico]” (Meadows). She had a strong artistic style in which she showed her Mexican patriotism and her communist ideals. In addition, she also made political statements on the U.S. and the industrialization.
This image may interpret parts of Diego Revers past where he was apart of the Mexican Communist party in 1992 to 1999. He was beginning to form ties with mexico which the party disapproved of. He was able to explore his own passions and became well liked in the United States. The people who opposed his ideas asked for his art to be removed. He was a very popular artist but, also popular in those who disagreed with his views.
Why do people do stupid things I ask? Well, there is a variety of reasons, but here are several of them. The first reason is stress. When you are stress you are not in the right mindset to make any important decision because all that you are thinking of is the stress you are feeling. For example, you should never make and important decision when you are stress unless is a life or death situation like in a war zone because you might regret it. Love is another reason people do stupid things. When someone is in love and then something happens between them they start do stupid things to get back at them. For example, when a teenager is in love for the first time and then they split up for any reason like cheating that person might start
