One person I would choose to be if I had to pick fictional or nonfictional, is Jessica Day, or Jess, from the T.V. show, New Girl. Jess has this certain personality that would clash with mine in a positive outlook. In the show, Jess is a teacher for elementary kids, and that I find pretty substantial. I remember when I was younger, I suggested to be a teacher as one of my professions and Jess was basically who I wanted to be when I first witnessed the show. She’s simple in the way her life is structured and how she decides to decipher her decisions. Jess’s personality--to me, I consider her bubbly, outgoing and somewhat blunt, or straight to the point. Jess’s bubbly personality could be seen as annoying or obnoxious. But in her way, she makes it suffice herself. She always tries to be genuinely generous to everyone she comes face-to-face with. Jess generally searches for the good in every person. She doesn’t believe that everyone is bad, unlike her friend, Nick. I remember this one episode in particular, that made me open my eyes to her route. In the beginning of the episode, Jess and Nick were about to park into this space but another car came into the picture. Nick started to scream rude and uncalled for statements to the guy, which caused him to pull out a gun. Jess took this matter …show more content…
Most times, it’s better to keep your thoughts to yourself because a good amount of people might disagree upon your words or even become hurt. Of course, that’s a natural way to respond but I believe it just depends on what you’re saying. In Jess’s case, when she speaks her mind, she doesn’t try to hurt anymore in the process. Genuinely, she just wants to say what’s on her mind and I have nothing against that. I wish I had the audacity to be able to vocalize my point-of-views, but sadly I don’t. Taking her place would really show me how that would feel if I did experience it in my
In her award winning novel The Running Dream, Wendelin Van Draanen’s extensive research paid off tremendously. Draanen accurately depicts the life of a teenage girl who is learning how to function accordingly with the new disabilities that took her by storm. Throughout her recovery journey, Jessica exhibits many psychological characteristics. Battling with isolation, reaction formation and projection, Jessica nevertheless powers through all of her struggles and ultimately becomes the person she
Have you ever noticed how some people just stand out from the crowd? Like the clouds in the sky and blades of grass, people are all different. “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker has a good example of an interesting, unique character. “No one loses their innocence. It is either taken away or given willingly” Tiffany Madison. A person’s innocence and freedom should be theirs to hold and control, but that is not always the way things unfold. Conviction flaws, poor evidence, and the social responses to these flaws are all involved and present in the cases of Paula Gray and Keith Allen Harward, as new evidence thirty years after they were imprisoned comes to light.

Paulette Jones has been experiencing many changes consistently with her health, which has affected her outlook on life. Paulette is constantly depress and worries if people accept her for who she is because her physical appearance has changed. The person she once was has disappeared. It is very rare that I get to see her happy, outgoing, spontaneous, and adventurous. She has recently visited here in Ga, and many of times I would walk pass and see her looking in the mirror at herself crying. Sometimes she appear happy, however deep down inside I can see her suffering as she wonders why she is on an endless downward spiral of life. It is very hard to look and hear my niece in such disarray on a continuous
Have you ever heard of the Holocaust? The Holocaust was a terrible time in history when Adolf Hitler was torturing many innocent Jews. He put them in concentration camps, but many tried to hid just like Anne Frank and her family. Anne Frank who was Jew, has a famous quote that says “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Even though throughout the “Diary of Anne Frank” we see that people are not always the best they could be, I agree with Anne and believe that everyone is still good at heart. One overall reason I chose that people are really good at heart are the acts of kindness Peter has throughout the book to Anne. However, I do know that there are two sides of an argument, I can see how some might
Each one of us things we know our classmates, but there is very much we don’t know about them. Her bubbly attitude and determination to make me open up grew on me until I developed a sort of affection for her. We went everywhere together, but with the cold of the winter came the icy resentment I felt whenever she came to school obviously too drugged up to even concentrate. My fear that she would overdose or hurt herself was reminiscent of that which I experienced with my own father. I knew that as time passed my options were increasingly limitted, she wouldn't listen to my advise, she wouldn't come see me everyday anymore, and she found a boyfriend who could supply her with all of her "needs." Soon she almost mirrored my father and I did what I should have always done, I cut her off for good. Like for my father I never really gave up hope that she would come to her senses and get her life together, but she didn't want to change and I didn't want to be around her anymore. I had been surprised by how quickly I had become friends with her and I frankly thought that we could be friends for a long time. However, I realized that while she was changing into what she wanted to be I had to stand my ground and continue to become who I wanted to be, which meant I had to cut her off. Among all thoughts of this experience, one concept will always resonate in my mind which is that while SJ will be dismissed as a young girl who just seemed to be misguided, I will always be hyper analyzed as a product of my parents' own misguided ways. The
DocViewer Page of 2 Zoom Pages In the Secret Life of Bees the character I particularly admire the most would be Lilly because shes someone who grew up with one parent, her father was never really there for her and would constantly abuse her. The abuse was both mentally and physically, because he was so angry that Deborah Lilly’s mom abandoned him. Most people say that words don’t hurt which can be true in some cases but what was different in Lilly’s case was that “T. Ray,” her father wouldn’t talk to her at all and didn't show Lilly any love, it was all anger. Rosaleen was more of a step in mother and a sister, she always took care of Lilly always making sure she was safe and sound.
