Life is all about what you make it. More so now than ever, lives are taken so much for granted and the small things are so overlooked. Many lives are lived by the wrong priorities, in my opinion. Every day is up for grabs and every moment matters.
Jason Aldean is a popular country music artist (he actually is a rock/country twist) with a crazy lifestyle and many songs to describe it. In my personal opinion I love and live by many of his songs, or as some may say “ways of life.” In 2010 Aldean released one of my favorite albums (My Kind of Party) which included Days Like These. The chorus to this tune reads, “Life is short, let's go live it; Ain't no time for wasting time; Days like these ‒ they go by way too fast; Yeah, days like these ‒ you want to make them last.” I find this to be my mindset through every day because every day is not promised. No life is a waste of life and many times that thought process is overlooked. Your life is given to you, be happy about it and embrace it. Often this world we live in makes life not look so ‘great’ when in reality we are extremely blessed. The first time I heard this song I was a lot younger and did not really understand the words. In fact, I was probably just singing it because I had tickets to his 2010 concert tour and thought I needed to know every song. Now, being a little older, I have learned that music speaks in many ways, good and bad. Music is actually, to me, an extremely powerful way to communicate a person’s opinion. This song hit me hard one day while going shopping back at home with my best friend. At the time we were preparing to go our separate ways for college, and the lyrics have stuck with me ever since. A year later me and my best friend have both ended up in a Starkville and only gotten closer. I could not be more blessed with a better Best Friend, and I definitely hope that days like these last with all of my current and future
Life is what you make it as we go through life’s journey. We all have different experiences that are unique to us individually. “Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.” - Virginia Satir. There are typical aspects of our journey that are similar, but different; we share commonalities along the way with others. In life, we will face challenges that bring about change, which is what happens to us along the way when we are younger, and it makes us who we are when we are older. Change is the opposite
Life is a chance. Life is about taking risks and challenging what lies beyond your boundaries. If you didn 't take chances, you would never experience right from wrong or learn from your mistakes.
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” I try to live by this quote by Charles R. Swindoll every day. I feel that this is a strong quote with a lot of meaning behind it and, it can be interpreted in many ways. In my opinion, we should see things in a positive way all the time. We also should do what we love every day because you never know how close you are to the end.
The world as a classroom really speaks to me. Life is all about learning and moving onto the next big thing. Our whole life until we turn eighteen is focused on school, passing the tests, and succeeding. After that we go to college or go to work, we do not want to stay in that place for too long so then we focus on
In MoveMe, Marcal Grahaman states, “Many of us have spent precious time on earth by working incessantly rather focusing on what really matters. We cannot get life back. We must reflect on family and friends and think about how we are spending our precious commodity. We must be intentional about time we have with one another and take advantage of every moment that we are afforded” (23). I agree totally with her statement due to the fact that we only have one chance at life and time waits for absolutely no one. The way life should be lived is as if the next day isn’t promised.
Throughout this course I have learned that Bruce’s songs have a deeper meaning than the tempo, instruments and lyrics of the song present. This is proven again with the songs Nebraska, Born in the USA, Ghost of Tom Joad, and Streets of Philadelphia. These songs can almost be looked at spiritually and emotionally for those who feel they don’t fit in with society. As Chet Flippo says about Bruce’s songs in his interview “a fundamentalist acceptance of life and its troubles, along with the faith that true belief will bring a better way.”
In her essay “Everyday Moments” Beth reminds us that “Life is not about achieving goals or reaching milestones but rather about appreciating each and every day for what it’s worth” (Beth, par.1). This essay encourages us to answer the questions of when we will stop waiting and start living our lives. Beth did a wonderful job of communicating that humans should start to define their self worth, not by their biggest accomplishment, but by their personality and weird quirks.
Life is made up of moments that can be good or bad, big or small, it just depends how people choose to see it. I personally choose to look at moments in my life with a positive outlook. Life will throw you the craziest obstacles, and how you handle them will design the person you are. The soundtrack of my life is made up of events that impacted my life tremendously, and made me who i am to this day.
That is not the best way of living life according to Alphaville. The lyrics to this song may highlight the celebration of youth, but they have a hidden meaning. This song indicates that vanishing like "a fading horse" is not the way to live. It is better to remain youthful like "diamonds in the sun" by dying in their prime time of their lives. People's remembrance of their good contributions to the world will disappear if they don’t choose to be forever young.
Every person in this world has its own definition and answer to the question, “how shall I live my life?” This is mostly based on the fact that each individual is different. A quote that illustrates how Kathleen Dean Moore has answered this question is, “We do not remember days, we remember moments” by Cesare Pavese a famous Italian poet. Moore wants to enjoy every single moment of her life with her family, she believes that spending time in nature will awaken homing instincts found in her daughter. In a nut shell, according to Moore nature is fundamental, worth noticing and celebrating.
Life is a gift in which many have the great experiences that come with it. As children, most have loving parents, helpful teachers, a good education, and friends that encourage us to fulfill our dreams. We become teenagers who think we know it all, strictly care about having a good time, and make memories that we can carry with us throughout our lifetime. Eventually we must grow up. We get a job, marry someone, and start a family. If you haven’t noticed already, I am describing an ideal life that many don’t have the privilege of living. Adult years begin to tear you apart and build up stress. Learning to live a life on your own can and will lead to tears and mistakes. Although everyone makes mistakes some can be more
n today's world, people are often so caught up in their day-to-day lives that they don't have time to think about their life. As a result of this, it can set them up to go in a direction that doesn't match up with their true needs.
"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive." – Elbert Hubbard. Although this may be a cliché, it has taught me how to laugh and enjoy every moment and every single day on this earth. This quote has taught me that there is a way to find a bright side to every situation. When the inevitable happens, when life finally comes to an end, what will become of everything that you have done in your life? You may have made a major impact on the world, you may have not. Either way in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn't even matter the only thing that truly matters is here and now, and enjoying every single day like it's your last. It is ironic how the vast majority of people on this earth become hung up with the daytoday
I forgot the best of them would go without my every spending a day or a dollar enjoying them. That’s my life story in those few words, a life never lived.” (LaRocco & Coughlin, 1996, p. 109) She gets it now even when it seems too late. Yet many can learn from her mistakes to find ‘it’ early in life so life is not wasted.
I have always really resonated with the quote “Life is a journey, not a destination” –Ralph Waldo Emerson. I am learning and seeing more now that things will get better. I am starting to appreciate the small things that can bring light to my day or entire week. The things that make me the happiest also influence me the most.
