ISIS is being led by multiple people who are extremely resistant to compromise and believe that they are following a prophecy. They have a divine prophecy that they will either be led to a great demise or a wonderful ending where they will come out on top. They are heavily armed, can fund themselves, have an organized infrastructure, and can cause a lot of damage. And for this incident, America takes a lot of credit for this and call it the Surge in which they helped Sunnis rise up against Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s rule. This led to Al-Qaeda in Iraq being defeated but not destroyed by only being driven out of the land they used to control and later they began rebuilding themselves by being involved in the fighting in Syria as they were trying to throw the Shiite Assad regime. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, better known as ISIS, is a terrorist group with the intentions to generate fear among people by committing acts of terror. Their short term goals are to inflict fear into the eyes of the world, along with attracting Muslims from various countries for its self-proclaimed cause (Wood). Their long term intentions are to overthrow the all other governments and establish an Islamic culture based only on Sharia law (Wood).

There's a $10 million dollar reward for information leading to capturing or killing him. The U.S. has accused Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of kidnapping, raping, enslaving, and killing American citizens. Within his group he keeps him personal life and personality a secret and this is what the young people in his group like.

As of early 2015, Isis has had control over numerous territory in Iraq and Syria as well as minor territories in Libya and Nigeria. The group has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the UN, EU, UK, USA, India, Australia, Canada and many more Western Countries. More than 60 countries around the world are directly or indirectly engaged in war with Isis.

ISIS appears to have a history with groups coming and going into the mix. While it’s not very known what their ideology is, you can very well establish your own perception based off their actions. ISIS falls under an extreme form of Salafi ideology, which is a fundamentalist approach to Islam. The group rejects religious innovations and supports Sharia law. If you don 't support their goals or share the same beliefs, ISIS uses extreme violence as an answer. Their beliefs and goals are to return to the early days of Islam or “Pure Islam.” They abide by an apocalyptic theory and believe that the Mhadi will soon arrive and redeem Islam.
