The controversy over whether the United States should take stronger military action against ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) has been discussed the past few months. The public opinion has grown more favorable to taking stronger action; however, there is a minority of people that still believe the Unites States should stay out of war as long it can. If the United States avoids war, then ISIS will become a bigger threat to the country than it already is. The Unites States should take stronger military force against ISIS. ISIS has proven to be a very powerful threat to our country and other countries around the world; if they are not stopped, ISIS will continue to aim danger at our country and our people.

Americans kidnapped by jihadist groups are killed at nearly four times the rate of other Western hostages in captivity, while American hostages are the least likely to be released, according to a report released a few days ago (Report: American Hostages). The report, issued by West Point's Combating Terrorism Center, found that six countries -- the United States, Turkey, Italy, the United Kingdom, France and Germany -- account for more than 60% of Westerners kidnapped by jihadist groups around the world since 2001 (Report: American Hostages). The report was compiled following the beheadings of Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff, both journalists, and aid worker Peter Kassig at the hands of ISIS, and the death of American Kayla Mueller, also an aid worker, in ISIS captivity (Report: American Hostages). ISIS and other terrorist organizations have taken many innocent lives, and action against these organizations needs to be taken to ensure the prevention of future American casualties. If the United States does not show that they are willing to amend the lives lost, then ISIS will continue to sacrifice innocent individuals. “This threat is not like any other. It is even more barbaric than al Qaeda before it. If unchallenged, its regimen of beheadings, burnings and crucifixions will take us all back into the worst practices of the Middle Ages”
Force is the only thing that ISIS respects. I believe that the action that the United States government is taking is a good start, but if the efforts fail, I truly think they must step up and take whatever measures necessary in putting an end to this travesty. They are endangering the lives of so many people that it would be crazy for the United States and other leading world powers to not take aggressive action in defending them. ISIS attacks many innocent people through violence, terror, and social media tactics. We must do whatever it takes to take them down, before they become even stronger and pose a larger threat to the United States and the
Pros: Building capacity and reducing ethnic tensions in Iraq and Syria may decrease the chances of ISIS to advance in the regions. No U.S boots on ground. Promotes regional responsibility for their stability. Addressing the problems in the long run. It does not portray the U.S as war against the Muslim world.

What is the point of getting involved in something that doesn't directly affect you? Why would the US think about sending troops to fight ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) when ISIS isn’t directly threatening the US? The United States cannot allow ISIS to continue developing because the more power they gain, the more threat they will pose. In addition,a larger commitment of American forces towards fighting the difficult ISIS enemy could galvanize other countries to fight with the US. ISIS started as a small group of Al Qaeda.
To conclude, the United States should no deploy anymore troops to fight ISIS. As a country we should not be involved with a nation we just battled with. It is too dangerous to our troops and our citizens. Also when our troops are away from the Homefront, our nation becomes very vulnerable. By leaving us defenseless, ISIS is left with more opportunity. Not to mention, other nations need to learn how to defend themselves. Sometimes you must sink before you learn to swim, and it is not our duty to rescue them. Our militia is better off when they're on home
Over the past summer, a media firestorm began when a radical Islamic group came to the four fronts of our headlines. Under their raised black flag, the Islamic state of Iraq and Levant is a deathly cult, which has taken over vast territory in Iraq and Syria. They have instituted extreme law including broadcasting beheadings and public executions, to violence against women, and recruiting westerners. In this paper we will explore the complex origins of this terrorist group and attempt to explain how ISIS lures hundreds and maybe thousands of westerns to join their army. Finally we will explore what the United States should do in this military situation.
The word “ terrorism” is used a lot in the world nowadays. The definition of a terrorist is someone who uses intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror or fear, in order to achieve a political, religious, or ideological aim. Some example of what we have establish as terror attacks are the Twin Towers in New York on the 11 of september 2001 or the Paris attack on november the 13 2015. The attacks were done by two different groups of terrorists, but what people tend to ignore is that these terrorist groups did not come to life from the unknown. What people tend to ignore or maybe just don’t understand or don’t know is that in this case, Al Qaeda was a creation of the United States of America, a country which was colossally
ISIS has been a rapidly increasing threat to not just the United States of America, but the entire world. ISIS has done countless brutal, sick, heart wrenching things that have caused a national and international uproar in the citizens of numerous countries. ISIS considers them the Islamic State, and they seem to have many motives. They basically want a large portion of the Middle east under ISIS control and for the rest of the world to accept their disgusting “traditions” as they claim they are doing, This threat has done some very unspeakable things; the problem needs to be solved. Considering the view the United State holds right now, there are a few actions that can be taken to reduce this threat that ISIS presents. ISIS has rapidly become an enormous problem for most of, if not all of the world. There are some very simple and some very complicated ways to solves this problem. The most efficient way is to simple go to war with ISIS and physically, mentally and emotionally destroy everything and everyone that is supporting this cause, another way is to give them what they desire to have, finally the last option is just completely ignore the foreign issue until it presents itself on U.S. soil. After an online video emerged on Tuesday, January 21st, 2015, showing ISIS threatening to kill two Japanese hostages, relatively little was known about the relationship between the two prisoners. But Reuters News revealed later that next day
Paris. Sydney. London. These are three of the many countries that have felt the brutality of ISIS in recent months. What is ISIS you may ask?
I recommend that Abu bin Al-Baghdadi should be tried at a federal court in the U.S. Military commissions which were set by the administration of George W. Bush have been criticized for lacking accountability and fair trial processes to detainees at Guantanamo Bay. A lot of people tend to think that indefinite detention at the facility is fair enough due to legal, political, and economic constraints that prevent transfer of detainees at the military facility to face justice in the U.S. One fundamental factor in detaining the likes of Al-Baghdadi at the prison is because they are suspects of war crimes and terrorism which led to the deaths of many innocent civilians and America’s service men and women. The battle between good and evil is the greatest battle of human nature. Are humans fighting to become good, or are humans fighting against evil? To be born good means that evil is not rooted in any human, but rather evil is influenced upon one. To be born good implies that criminals, rapists, and murderers are not born with the intent of destruction and evil doings, but society has triggered them to become that way. Is innocence in a human lost, or is it never there? In Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein, Shelley uses the example of the Creature to argue that all humans are born good and innocent, but because of the pain, suffering, and societal influences one may endure in a lifetime, this good can be destroyed and overcome by evil
In our society, there are many threats to our American Society. In efforts to shut down many of these threats, it has been decided that the main threat is terrorism in the middle east. In the video “Hunting ISIS” it is described that radical Muslims become terrorist on most occasions and that these terrorist they become are ruthless. They have no regard for human life nor their own. Terrorism, the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, is the greatest security threat to our American society.
The President Barack Obama was addressing about “the scourge of terrorism and terrorist attack” and question and answer segment about military draft in the White House at about 5 pm this afternoon. The United States had been involved in wars against global terrorism that would harm the U.S. for a long time. No matter in U.S. or abroad, thousands of soldiers and residents lost their lives during wars. Everywhere the dangerous rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS has managed to wrest control of territory, people have been brutalized, terrorized and even enslaved.
With the upcoming election, candidates need to voice to the public their plans for dealing with pressing issues facing America today. The biggest multinational threat at the moment is ISIS, or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and the public is looking at the potential President for answers. With something as difficult to deal with as the war on ISIS, these candidates need to prepare thorough plans in order to win the public’s support. It’s not as simple as deciding whether or not we want American troops on the ground. We have to form alliances, expand our military strength, protect ourselves internationally, and prevent ISIS from growing.
