Introduction Friedrich Nietzsche believed God is dead, and he has based his theology around these three words. Why does he believe God is dead? Friedrich Nietzsche could have called his theology God does not exist and easily conveyed his message. Nietzsche purposefully chose these three words to send a message to the Christian faith. Since the beginning of time the existence of God has been questioned. Science has attempted to provide

Nietzsche was really upset with the Apostle Paul, whom he believed played a vital role in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He saw the disbelief of Paul and the other disciples as a way for them to invent a new doctrine that they called Christianity. Nietzsche was concerned with happiness as he knew it to be on Earth. Maybe this all stems back to his childhood trauma. Either way, Nietzsche never really presents any kind of evidence to substantiate his own claims.
Religion Believes God is Alive
Webster’s definition of God is: “God, in the Christian, Jewish, and Moslem religions, the all-powerful Being who made and rules the universe and is worshipped by man.” “It is reckoned that Islam is now professed by from 150 to 200 million people, nearly one-seventh of the population of the globe.” Islam believes that God is alive and His name is called “Allah.” The self-proclaimed prophet Mohammed was born in Mecca around the year 570. Some say Mohammed is the author of the Koran, while others believe Allah is the author. Humanity may never know, but the Koran is clear that there is a God and his name is Allah. The more radical views of Islam are on display daily in the news. Suicide bombers, soldiers, and mercenaries, are all men who kill in the name of their God. The Islamic religion proclaims that Allah is to be worshipped, and only Allah. They claim their God is a forgiving and merciful God, but they murder innocent men, women, and children in his name. Nietzsche
In addiction, in many cases when people human right’s is denied they use law as a tool to hold the perpetuators accountable and bring up changes. This is an issue addressed in the article “The Flint Disaster: Why doesn’t black health matter. The lead-poising disaster in Flint is not only a health public issue but it is also practice of discrimination in a community that its predominately black. While there are thousands of people including young children, whose health conditions are worsening because of the lead-poising they get from the water they drink everyday there has been little done to fix this problem. Meanwhile, because this is happening in a black community there less recognition put into the problem. The Flint water crisis is
He would disagree with what Socrates chose to do in accepting death and would look at the demanor of good and evil and raise the idea that this is all dogmatic, which then should be eradicated. If Socrates’s was to leave and struggle by failing to adhere to his principals he would suffer to a degree, but in his sufferage he would become a man of greatness. Nietzsche’s ideas of good and evil being formed through religion requires for it to be gone because God is “dead” therfore meaning is found at the end of ones
Nietzsche strongest argument was that, “Human nature is always driven by “the will to power””, but religion will tell one otherwise, saying that one should forbid their bad desires. Nietzsche is quite critical in particular towards Christianity since it was stated as the religion of slaves and pity by Nietzsche, caused by limiting one’s personal development since they were too obsessed with the treasures of the afterlife. Having said that, Nietzsche also referred to Buddhism as the nihilistic and the “desire for nothingness” religion, however he does praise certain aspects of the Buddhist teaching in comparison to Jesus’. Last but foremost, Nietzsche proves Socrates death to be at the hands of the acceptance of slave morality. For those who practice religion are guaranteed to fall as a slave rather than to become their own master due to all the restriction and standards set up by God. I simply do agree with Nietzsche due to all the evidence connecting back to each and every religion and philosophers. One must strive to reach and achieve their desire in order to be satisfied with one’s life. As people say, “no pain, no gain”, therefore one must live through all the suffering to accomplish greatness in their lives and make the most out of the given life. One can conclude, the practice of religion led many to the acceptance of slave
Nietzsche sets the scene for the current moral situation of society in the beginning of his allegory: the madman “in the bright morning lit a lantern and ran around the marketplace crying incessantly, “I’m looking for God!” (§125). The madman is distressed because many fundamental beliefs of Christianity--the belief in God and “sin, repentance,
Nietzsche admits that the realization that “God is dead” will travel slowly because it is just too “unthinkable”.
Nietzsche was a revolutionary author and philosopher who has had a tremendous impact on German culture up through the twentieth century and even today. Nietzsche's views were very unlike the popular and conventional beliefs and practices of his time and nearly all of his published works were, and still are, rather controversial, especially in On the Genealogy of Morals. His philosophies are more than just controversial and unconventional viewpoints, however; they are absolutely extreme and dangerous if taken out of context or misinterpreted. After Nietzsche's death it took very little for his sister to make some slight alterations to his works to go along with Nazi ideology.
Christianity had become the enemy of life and nature and the church has stifled its followers by turning them into closed minded and weak humans. Nietzsche ultimately believed that religion creates a concept of anti-natural morality which damages our development as humans quite
However, Allah is what our forefathers called God before America and the English language ever existed. Islam Is more than religion it’s the nature of god .and the nature in which he created, humanity Islam is a world that encompasses everything that goes for human development. When someone says they’re “Muslim” they are saying I believe in surrendering my will entirely to do the will of god. That is not a bad name, that is the noblest name and title that one could have. Muslim is not a title as such; it is an indication of the nature in which God (Allah) created you. Many Prophets Such as; The Honorable Elijah Muhammad ,Thirty-four years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was born on or about Oct. 7, 1897 in Sandersville, Georgia. His exact date of his birth remains unknown because record keeping in rural Georgia for the descendants of slaves was not kept current, according to historians and family members. Elijah Muhammad, the son of a minister, and whose parents, William (later named Wali) and Marie Poole, had 12 other children, he quit school after barely finishing the third grade to work in the fields as a sharecropper so his family could eat (www.NOI.org,1996). Elijah later got married and had children, he moved to Georgia. He worked for the Southern
Glover explains that at the end of the century it is hard to be confident about the moral law or about moral progress, he quotes that one reason why there is a decline on morality is because there is a decline in the belief in God (Glover, 2000). “God is dead” is one of Nietzsche famous quotes. Nietzsche is not the first to challenge God authority of morality. Ivan Karamazov was one of the first to question, he question if he was the high power because of all the bad thing that has and was happing in the world ; some examples were rape ,war , poverty, any type of cruelty to humanity (Glover, 2000). Nietzsche also saw the cruelty and believed that human were in danger due to their morality, and also believes that Judeo - Christianity religious beliefs was no longer a serious intellectual option (Glover, 2000, p. 12 to 17).
Nietzsche was an existentialist philosopher. Extentialism is all about an individual. Social institutions such as religion traditionally impose values on people who accept these values as inherently good and worthy of pursuing. However, in Nietzsche’s world, God is dead and can no longer provide
However he does not take back his initial claim stating that “ This deed id still more distant from them that the most distant stars – and yet they have done it themselves.” (Nietzsche 96). This sees to imply that society is not aware of it’s actions and that the realization of the true weight of what has been done will not be realized now but rather in the context of the future. Nietzsche’s claim looks towards the future at the “tremendous event still on its way.” (Nietzsche 96) with an air of fear and guilt for what has been done. Society is not ready to hear about what they have done or accept the true implications, and therefore they are not concerned with what is being said. Nietzsche describes the reaction to the claim “God is Dead” saying that “they too were silent and stared at him in astonishment.” (Nietzsche 96). The 19th century was the start of the movement away from faith and towards other societal norms such as science and the introduction of Darwinism. However, this movement was still very new and therefore such an extreme claim as “God is Dead” was not fully understood or accepted. It can be inferred from Nietzsche’s statements like “the tremendous event is still on it’s way, still wandering- it has not yet reached the ears of man” (Nietzsche 96) that he is primarily concerned with how the death of God will affect those in the future as the full impact has yet to be realized and the degradation of faith will later become a societal
I believe Nietzsche means by “the death of God” is to catch people’s attention to read the whole parable. For example, the author writes, “I shall tell you. We have killed him - you and I. We are his murderers.” to provide a path of interpretation for readers. Accordingly, to the madman’s quote, I suppose God was killed by the people who stopped believing in the idea of a God existing. Moreover, the madman says, “The tremendous event is still on its way, still travelling - it has not yet reached the ears of men.” since he has come too soon to ask people about God’s location. The event’s metaphor about the light from the stars is for readers to understand that God’s arrival will take time. Similarly, the madman explains that everyone born after
The fact that he gave up and refused to fight back gives room for more findings. He disagrees with the Christian community for making Jesus a martyr and sees that in so doing, they had made the Christ teachings vague. Nietzsche wrote his works in the process of rebuilding the damage caused by Christians during the ancient days. His inclination was to show the true way in which God wanted human beings to live as opposed to what Christians were doing.
3). In his most basic claims, Nietzsche implicitly negates the possibility of a “disinterested” or “objective” truth. He would not urge so definitively for an affirmation of reality, if he held out for the possibility of fantasy or god. The ‘innocence of becoming’ is a clear example of how Nietzsche, for all intents and purposes, “debunk[‘s]” the relevance of claims made by traditional authorities. In essence, Nietzsche basically nullifies the relevance of societal hierarchy. Not only this, but the further claims made by such a society regarding morality and philosophical thinking, are seen to be – at best – gullible and naïve. The ‘innocence of becoming’ refers to even the lowest classes of society finding power in their status. In lieu of accepting that we are completely alone in the world, Nietzsche asserts that we have a constant need to blame others for our state. It is simply much easier to do than to accept that everything we do has no genuine or reaching consequences. While the ‘innocence of becoming’ is not necessarily an innocent process as those we choose to blame are usually blameless, it is fair to say that we are innocent of it; much like the ‘will to power’ it also works through self-deception. Evidently we are able to commit to life affirmation by essentially taking no responsibility for our weakness. Christianity itself is closely connected with the ‘becoming’ process as in its
Though the stereotypes we have heard may have or currently do believe, hold some truth there is more to Islam than what most Americans and westerners claim to see. Islam means submission to the will of Allah (swt1), {see footnote} the Arabic word for God, and the obedience of His law. Islam is the religion followed by Muslims. Muslim means one who submits to Allah (swt). Allah (swt) sent Prophet Muhammad (saws2) the words of the Koran, the Holy Book of Islam. Prophet Muhammad (saws) also wrote the Hadith, which is the group of sayings of Prophet Muhammad (saws) {see footnote} and a collection of things that he did. The Koran, also spelt Qur’an, and the Hadith are the books that are the basis for the Islamic faith and the
