Interview: Goat-Chasing Dogs to Oddly Named Hamsters ~ Keil Fehlberg ~ 11-28-2016
I sat down to interview my father, soon to find out how intrigued I was about my dad’s stories. It was late at night, about 7:00 PM. I had asked my dad if I could interview him, and he excitedly accepted.
We sat down on the leather, red couch and I slipped out my interview questions. I decided ahead of time to write the questions I was going to write about. I chose to ask about his interactions with his childhood pets, so I then looked him in the eye and asked him.
One of the questions I asked him was “When growing up, what was your first pet you ever encountered?”My dad’s reply was highly entertaining. He explained his story of his first pet. My dad started out with a brown and white hamster named Felix. His brother had a twin hamster named Frances. Soon, the hamsters both escaped, so my dad got a new hampster which he named Kinnikinnick. That hamster also escaped, so my dad got a third hamster called Kinnikinnick 2. Upon hearing this, I bursted out laughing, I couldn’t believe the names that my dad gave them as a child. My father laughed with me as he continued his story. My dad said that the first family pet was a Siberian Husky named Chinook
While the interview occurred I asked him all these questions including “how did

It was of a time when he and his family went to tour Glacier National Park in Montana. They took Chinook with them. When they were stopped on the side of the road to look at mountain goats, mistakenly leaving the car door open. Chinook saw this opportunity, and jumped out of the car to chase the mountain goats. Seeing this, my dad’s sister chased after the dog offroad, running alongside the cliffs. Fearing for her daughter’s life, my grandpa, or my father’s dad, chased after my sister. Then, for fun, my dad chased after my father. It was a complete mess and I had a blast listening to the
The fresh morning air was cool against my face. Father had been gone for a while now, he had been called by his work for some “serious business.” As my sister Aliah, and I played in the pond by our 2 story house, we heard a faint muttering of Father’s pick-up.
While waiting for our food to arrive I started the interview off with some introductory background questions. His demeanor during the interview was very comfortable. I felt he was being very open and honest with his answers. Our conversations flowed very smoothly. I felt as if I was speaking to someone from a different culture from mines, but the way he expressed his perceptions and experiences were not foreign to me. Plainly, I could see how people all over the world could share the same dilemmas.
The first topic Tommy and I discussed was his family life. Tommy is 17 years old, and lives in Greensburg. He has lived here for 5 years. He has moved 2 different times to Irwin and Greensburg. Tommy has a pet pitbull named Jax. He has the best relationship with his dad because that is who he lives with.
I interviewed my stepfather, Michael Roy Garcia, because he has played a very important role in my life for a very long time. He has raised me since I was very young and brought me up as the young man that I am today. I thought it would be interesting to learn a little bit more about his younger years and how he lived when he was my age. I interviewed him on the night of September 24th for about 40 minutes in our living room. Some of the most interesting aspects of the interview were when my stepfather described his high school experience, his family life, and the community that he lived in.
For my interview essay I decided to interview my grandfather, Ronny Allgeier. Ronny is my father’s father, who I have known all of my life. He was born January 28th, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Later came his sister, Sharon, who was born just four years later. Raised by their parents, Sylvester and Anna May, they lived in the same house while growing up. He attended high school at St. Xavier and then entered the Air Force for four years to become a mechanic during the War of Vietnam. After returning from the war he got married to his current wife now, Rebecca. Shortly after he was a route salesman for Ehrler’s Dairy Company, and also opened up his own business known as Allgeier Sod which my father later worked for. His two sons and only children, Todd (my father) and Terry, also attended St. Xavier in Louisville. Although I have always
For my report, I chose to interview my middle-aged father, Nick Steele Jr. He is one of my biggest motivators, friend, and teacher. He is currently fifty-four years old and has embarked on endless life-learning adventures during his time here on earth. A lot of my personality has been in one way, shape or form, been influenced by him in one way or the other.
The meeting took place September 29th in his class room early in the morning around 9 am. We both felt great about the interview it was long anticipated, he told me this was his 10th interview this week. I wasn’t nervous about the interview
It was midday and I was sitting at my desk eating my lunch when I heard the phone ring. It was a very surprising matter that someone had called me at this time of day. I then rushed abruptly to the phone because I knew it must be urgent. My favorite news reporter Marc Hardy was on, so I decided to stop and listened.
We both sat down and I conducted my interview by asking a few basic questions in order for me to discover what type of man Omar was. I
Then the next day the phone blared throughout the Gibson’s home. My father went downstairs to answer the phone and on the other line was the principal of Mount Caramel Academy. My dad’s interview was Monday morning at 8:30 sharp. However, their plane would be taking off at noon later that day. If my dad secured the job my parents would go home retrieve their items and fly back to New Orleans permanently.
I'm interviewing my mom, Amanda. Her life probably wasn’t that interesting, but why don t you see/read for yourself. But myself I think they all had a very good childhood, even if they didn’t all get exactly what they wanted when they wanted a toy or phone or anything else. And I think my mom loved her childhood because she could do anything. Okay lets find out what her childhood had been like back in the days.
Interviewer: Hello Mrs. Bishop. Can we start the interview off with a reflection of your childhood?
1. Question: Share some of the background of your interviewee (or couple). What was this person’s/couple’s story?
The Television quietly mumbles in the background. The dogs snoring on the chairs near it, sitting in his bed is Rob Pace, he is fifty-five years old. He is flipping through different movies on Netflix. Noticing when I entered the room the dogs quickly jumped up and ran out of the room. Pausing the current movie he was watching, so He could call out to the dogs, "Hazel, come" he yells out to one of the dogs leaving, slowly but surely the fat dog by the name of Hazel walked back in. "All right, you want to do this interview?" he asks. Nodding my head, we are about to begin as Hazel begs to be lifted up, Rob ignoring her she then bumbled her way up the ottoman so she could lay on the bed with him, but declining her attempts, he scolds her to get down, as the sheets would get dirty from her paws. I shove my phone with a recording application on it near him, ready to interview, but he quickly gets irritated at the phone and says he will write down his answers for me instead. With a tired sigh from him, since it was quite late at the time, we began the interview, he asked before if he could get mainly positive questions because he hated the negative ones.
In this interview assignment, we, my class, are given a sheet of paper. On that sheet of paper, we are to write ten questions that will give information about ourselves. Once the questions are completed, the class splits up into pairs and exchange questions. Then the pair, one at a time, will ask each other the questions that they wrote. One partner will keep the other’s questions and answers while the other partner does the same. So now, I am going to tell you about what I learned about my partner, Hunter Webb, in this assignment.
