11 of September 2001 was the obvious example that showed the weakness of security, lack of preparation of internal security organs. The enemy was new and unexpected and "HE" did not require a large army to strike a crushing blow, but the only thing he nedded actually was the presence of a small group of people armed with explosive weapons.
As it presented in "National Security Strategy" of the US, the main purpose of the United States government is to protect the American people, the fight against terrorism and also the promotion of democracy around the world. The basis of the document the White House on the principle of preventive approach. This principle states that providing self-defense, the US is ready to strike at the enemy, even if the time and place of the attack on America is not known.
The primary task of the military-political leadership of the United States of America proclaims the protection of the population from different enemies - outside the countru and also within the
Every business organization has a social responsibility in ensuring that the environment it operates in is protected. Many companies have identified that they have a major role to play in protecting the natural habitat and ensuring that business is not only about making profits. Some organizations are setting aside funds that are developed in the protection of the environment while other organizations are setting a tree-planting day as part of their annual calendar. Companies have legal and ethical responsibilities that guide the organization in making sure that the environment is taken care of. The natural resource depletion and the environmental pollution have led to conservation groups setting rules that govern the company in utilizing natural resources.
“At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security.” This quote by Jodi Rell states the mission of the United States government after the tragic event on September 11, 2001. The nation’s security before nine-eleven was not stern enough to stop a deadly attack from another country. The impact that nine-eleven had on the federal government brought many changes, including the national security. National security is the concept that a government should protect the state and its citizens against national crises. The United States’ national security has become stronger since nine-eleven in areas such as airports, public schools and sporting events.
The United States is a militaristic country because of the military budget, the military’s expansion into civilian areas, and military culture. The large and increasing budget of the military is an example of U.S. militarism. According to National Priorities
In response to what marked the United States forever, the September 11 attacks, the federal government procreated what is known as The Department of Homeland Security. The main responsibilities of the Department of Homeland Security consisted of having to protect the territory of the United States and protectorates from and responding to terrorist attacks, man-made accidents, and natural disasters. In another words, the existence of the Department of Homeland Security is to ensure a homeland that is safe, secure, and resilient against terrorism and other hazards. Though many different government agencies see and define Homeland Security accordingly to their protocol, the National Strategy for the Department of Homeland Security was able to
The Army accomplishes this by organizing, equipping and training forces for quick and sustained operation on land while remaining prepared and ready for future operations. The Army accomplishes all missions assigned by the President of the United States. The Army’s fundamental mission to win in the unforgiving crucible of ground combat, requires the combined, cohesive efforts of the entire team. Soldiers and civilians alike should be well prepared for the mission of today as well as the
National security became the ground breaking concern in the United States after the tragic events unfolded on September 11, 2001. Many questions were brought to the attention of the public eye, such as why the September 11 attacks weren’t diffused prior to the deaths of
The United States has been attacked many times by different terrorist organizations, but never more vicious than the attacks on September 11, 2001. During that time the US was utilizing the resources of the Central Intelligence Agency and the military to find and disrupt terrorist plots. However, sometimes once information was obtained that an attack attempt was imminent, there was not always action. There was too much data to sift through and not enough resources to track down every possibility (possible lead?). This is still the case today, however the tactics and ability of the government to find the more credible threats is substantially better than it was fifteen years ago. Though the resources and
The purpose of the United States Army is to fight and win the Nation’s wars. Civilian authorities entrust the Army to carry out this unique responsibility through competent leaders and subordinates collectively. All parties constantly evaluate trust both internally and externally. Recent continuous conflict has demonstrated the importance of trust and its fragile nature with the American people. Without trust the Army is incapable of achieving its mission, thus making it the most important characteristic of the Army Profession.
The military has been instrumental in the protection and development of U.S interests around the world. From the Revolutionary War, which established the United States as a nation, through the World Wars, which set up the U.S as one of the world super powers, to its current war on terror, the military has helped and protected U.S. interests around the world. During all these wars American soldiers have proudly served their country. Because of these wars America is famous throughout the world for military power and its protection of freedom in the world. Today the U.S is an international symbol of wealth and power; it has the largest Gross Domestic Product in the world as well as the strongest military. Yet even America falls prey to a
The attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001 were the direct result of the failure of US agencies, ranging from the White House to airport security, to recognize vulnerabilities present in the various symptoms. The reason why these vulnerabilities were not acknowledged and repaired is that these various agencies were trapped in a cognitive dissonance cycle of thinking. After the Cold War, terrorism was seen as a regional problem (9/11 Commission, 92). The majority of terrorist groups were either groups sponsored by governments or militants trying to create governments (i.e. Palestine Liberation Organization). As a result, the tactics used for fighting terrorism were centralized mostly in the Middle East and were restricted to
On September 11, 2001 terrorists apprehended 4 airplanes and committed the most heinous act in American history. They flew two planes into the world trade center, one into the Pentagon, and one crashed in a field in Pennsylvania crash killing more than three thousand American citizens. Since 9 /11many things have changed in America in relation to our national security.
The morale and welfare of the men and women that serve our country is considered one of America’s primary missions. Throughout the course of American history, the U.S. government has set forth initiatives as well as mandated laws; with efforts to provide aid and support services for members of the armed services.
The law enforcement and the military are two of the biggest protections from terrorism but the president of the United States is also a protector. The president has to protect Americans from all kinds of threats that people make. When the president takes oath he must swear to protect and defend the Constitution (Spencer, Jack). Every day the different threats towards the United States changes which means the president is always changing their plan to keep Americans safe. The government is in control of saying what is considered a threat to the United States (Spencer, Jack). Every day the government tries to find a new way to end terrorism.
As we train, lead, and develop the soldiers and leaders of America’s Army, we as leaders must understand our responsibilities in that mission. In addition to our responsibilities to the mission, we must also understand our responsibilities to assist in the accomplishment of the Army’s goals. AR 350-1 states:
…preserving the peace and security, and providing for the defense, of the United States, the Territories, Commonwealths, and possessions, and any areas occupied by the United States; supporting the national policies; implementing the national objectives; and overcoming any nations responsible for aggressive acts that imperil the peace and security of the United States. (Title 10, U.S. Code)
