Approximately about 3.2 million children and teens are being victimized by bullies each year. Many of these adolescent children have different reactions to being bullied. What is bullying? What are the risk factors of bullying? There are many mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and even suicide. There are many warning signs you could watch out for in minorities as said in these articles by scholars, that are being bullied. To begin with, what is bullying? Bullying is the aggressive behavior towards other peers. This happens when there is an imbalance of power. There are 3 types of bullying: verbal bullying, social bullying, and physical bullying. What are the risks of bullying? The risks are depression, anxiety, social contact, loneliness, decreased academic level in GPA, and suicide. Most of these risks are mental problems that can be fixed with a psychiatrist or medications, such as anti-depressants. You can also watch for warning signs, such as, missing clothing, bruises, few friends, afraid of going to school, loss of appetite, sad, frequently complains of headaches, and bad dreams. Second, adolescent children who are being bullied or have been bullied can suffer from depression. Teens who have depression can go into a deep despair to not do anything in life anymore; they lost all hope of being happy. Many kids who have depression have difficulty concentrating in school which will cause their GPA to plummet, they also have low energy to
