What is lacrosse? Lacrosse is a really fun sport that makes fit and healthy. It was invented by a culture called the Native Americans. That was their game back then. And Konawaena has their own team and the coach is Coach Curran. I was one of the players in his team. And I think its was really fun to play in his team.
When I went to practice at the first time, I was really nervous. But when we introduce each other, I got to know them and started to make friends with them. they are like my family where we look after each other. like what coach said, " If a lacrosse player sees a lacrosse player walking while they're driving, they'll pick that player up." And I kept that in my head.
Lacrosse is a hard sport but you gotta do your best no matter
Lacrosse is an exciting and fast-paced sport with almost nonstop action from start to finish. The strategy is simple. Players move a ball down a field using sticks with nets on them. A goal is scored by hurling the ball past the other team’s goaltender into an upright net. Lacrosse is played at all levels of athletics. There are professional, amateur, and school teams, and there are scholarships for those who play it in college.
Lacrosse is a contact sport composed of two teams, using a small rubber ball and a hand held stick. Lacrosse has roots in cultural tradition of Iroquois people that inhabited what is now new york and parts of New England. Traditionally a northeastern sport, it has recently moved into the south. Study suggests it may have developed as early as the 1,100’s amongst indigenous people.By the 1,700’s, it was apparently well established, documented by Jesuit missionary priests in what we now know as Canada. The game has evolved a lot differently since then. In the traditional Canadian version, each team consisted of about one hundred to one thousand men on a field just about the size of a modern soccer field. The games lasted for two to three days, from sunrise, to sunset, played as a ceremonial type of ritual, like a symbolic warfare to thank the creators.
Lacrosse dates back all the way to the 1600’s when the Indians inhabited most of the North American land. What once was referred to as “stickball” by the Native Americans has changed frequently throughout the years, and is now a popular worldwide play sport. Lacrosse was first played in St. Valley, New York by the Iroquois, who were a Native American tribe. The game was originally created to praise their creator. Also to settle arguments between other tribes and to prepare for war.
I have been playing lacrosse ever since I was 8 years old. It has been a really fun and time consuming sport. The object of the game is to score by shooting the ball in the opposing team's goal using a shaft preferably made from; wood, aluminum, or titanium, that size ranges from about 40 inches to 42 inches for offensive players and size ranges from about 52 inches to 72 inches for defensive players. This sport may sound similar to another sport known as football. Football is played with an oval sized ball made from rubber, weaved with laces that size ranges from about 27 cm long and 60 cm in circumference at its widest point. Which brings me to my claim, “Is Lacrosse better than Football?”. I personally think that it is, this is of course
Belén was first introduced to quinoa after a lacrosse game. The lacrosse parents had set up a tailgate with a great variety of food and a quinoa salad was a part of it. Quinoa is a seed from a weed- like plant, goosefoot, and although it is not a true grain, quinoa shares similar nutritional properties. It is generally cooked and served like most cereal grains (Moncel, 2015). When Belén was doing some research on the type of food that would be good for a lacrosse athlete to eat before or after a game, she also came across quinoa. Quinoa is a very popular food among vegetarians and health enthusiasts because of its high protein content. In addition to being higher in protein than most grains, quinoa is also a complete protein source, which is not common in plant products (Moncel, 2015). These facts led us to think that this food would be beneficial for any athlete along with anyone who was just interested in their overall health.
Out of all the vast variety of sports there are, baseball is the most challenging and difficult sport to play. No other sport compares to the degree of difficulty that you have to deal with, like you do in playing the game of baseball. There are so many different elements that make this game the most difficult. Three major elements stick out in my mind as to why this wonderful sport is the toughest of all. The three main factors in my mind are the increased physical and hand eye coordination component, the mental aspect of this game, and the human interdependence between umpires, which are a vital part in every play.
Lacrosse is the oldest team sport in North America, having been played by Native American tribes long before any European had even set foot on the continent. A century after European missionaries discovered the game played by Native Americans, they began to play it themselves, starting in the 18th century. From there, it evolved and grew in popularity from a very savage game that resembled war, into what it is today, a recreational sport played widely in America and other countries. As U.S. Lacrosse literature aptly puts it "Lacrosse is a game born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, adopted and raised by the Canadians, and later dominated by the Americans.”
I think that lacrosse should be in the Olympic because it is the first native american sport that was played and in the olympics they play hockey, soccer and basketball all for these sports are all played like lacrosse they have the same goal and that is to work together and get the ball into the goal and the more points you get you win the game when the time runs out and the game. And all these sports require you to have work with other people even if you get along with them if you want to win you will work with them. Soccer and lacrosse in the same way because they have players that can only have a certain amount player on one side of the field at one time and on both sides of the fields are the goals and the each team has a goalie. And they
Im sure that plenty of people in this room and in this school play sports. One of the sports that I play is lacrosse. In lacrosse one of the most important parts of your equipment is your stick. I will explain how somebody going into the sport should decide how to make their stick.
Both Lacrosse and Ice hockey are two sports that share similar aspects. One example would be that they both require plenty of athletic prowess, as well as countless hours of training and practice to master. The high amount of contact in both sports enables a player to become both physically and mentally "tough". Lacrosse has grown to its highest level of popularity it has ever reached over the last ten years. Ice hockey has seen a steady climb in its popularity over the past 25 years making it one of the most popular sports in not only Long Island, but all across the U.S. However, there are many differences as well, and we should not overlook the fact that there are plenty of distinctions between the two
Today lacrosse is a fast paced game that has evolved from the original version of the game before our nation was around. The game has an abundance of history behind it. Evidence of the game date back to 1612, were William Strachey wrote about Powhatan peoples playing a game we now know to be lacrosse. It later reappears in a document dating back to 1689 called An account of the Indians in Virginia (Aveni). Through the years it has been made clear that the game was played mostly throughout the eastern half of North America. Tribes in the southeast by the Great Lakes and in the St. Lawrence Valley area played the game most of all. Among these tribes were the Cherokee, Chicksaw, Choctaw, Creek, Seminole, Yuchi, and many others. Till this day what remains of these former tribes still practice the game of lacrosse. The Ojibwe, Menomince, Potawatomi, Sauck, Fox, Miami, Winnebago, Santee, Dakota tribes from the
Everyone has watched softball, most likely baseball as well. Which do you prefer? How do you know that one is best? Well softball, of course, is the better choice. While watching both sports, you see them hitting, catching, and throwing a ball. Softball is more appealing. The reason for that is softball is a more difficult sport.
One thing that snags my interest, and my liking, is field hockey. I have only played for one year, but I plan on playing a few more years. I am a better version of myself when im playing. Field hockey teaches self control, focus, and teamwork. I use field hockey to relieve my stress and to stay in shape.
The Stanford Womenś Volleyball Team is the best sports team ever. First, they have many top players on the team from all around the world. Second, their statistics are terrific. If you are looking at colleges I would totally consider Stanford. In addition, they have a great coach and an unstoppable team. To begin, the Stanford Volleyball Team has brought top players from all around the world to come play on their team. First, eighty percent of their players are six feet tall or even taller. That is an advantage because the taller you are the more strong and harder the players hit the ball which sums up to a point for them. Another advantage is a new freshman makes the team every year and one of them ends up being the freshman of the year. In
