INTRODUCTION A soldier is considered as the 'man of the moment'. It is because, the military organizations treat timeliness with extreme importance. It orients all courses of their activities and their success depends on the quality of that orientation. Therefore constant researches go on in every military organization to raise the understanding of timeliness among its members, many schemes are being formulated to improve the scope of doing more in little time, or doing something exactly on time, add to that the relentless practice of forming the habit of being on time. No wonder then, why the military personnel is regarded

This shifts the focus onto the individuals who are supposed to provide a regimented contribution into the proceedings.
Importance of Timeliness : Individual Level
Any member of a military force are taken as someone ready to serve at any moment, with all his/her skills, intelligence, strength and presence of mind; much like someone readily set on the starting track, totally geared up to run from the moment 'go'. This explains how much preparation it takes to condition one's body and mind to attain that level of ability and agility. It requires a continuous, disciplined practice of skills as well as lifestyle conducive to retain and augment those skills. Through this comprehensive state of affairs, the magnitude of the word 'discipline' reaches a new high, as it encompasses every step of a member of any military force, as if a guardian angel securing its subject from any danger. Needless to say, without timeliness this application of discipline is impossible, where it aims to build a dynamic and dedicated force. To bring in such dynamism, a force needs to incorporate a vast curriculum for its members. Here also, timeliness works like wonders, as everyone knows, a plan is as good as its schedules. Because of this, military organizations enforce strenuous routines and schedules to secure that level of discipline. With time, those imposed features of discipline culminate into self-discipline, as
The department’s leadership is responsible for providing appropriate manpower and resources to each mission using an increasingly tight budget, while also following strict laws for high priority missions, such as nuclear defense, which mandate both high levels of training and manpower (Air Education Training Command, 2015). Additionally, warfare technology has become incredibly advanced. Due to this complication, the educational and technical requirements for military service members and employees are steadily increasing.
Force management, or what is really otherwise known as planned comprehensive change, is in reality a complex and interwoven process. Though it was designed within the confines of a systemic approach referred to as the DOTMLPF (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership & Education, Personnel and Facilities), in reality it is meant to enable both dutiful and well-thought out change as well as faster, more urgent adjustments in accordance with the evolving nature of war and information gathering tactics. The Army, as one branch involved in this initiative, focuses most of its attention in this regard on the organizational sector because of the way it facilitates an adequate and democratic step-by-step system of review (Student Reader, F102:2). But the fact is that even this initiative remains multi-faceted and appears to be rather bureaucratic in nature (it has five phases, which seems antithetical to an urgent change process), which might not be surprising since implementing the type of changes that are demanded can have major implications of all sorts. Still, it does appear that this concentration is being well received and that it will eventually serve its goal even if it does not appear that way when detailed on a point by point basis.
Army leaders must balance the link between the Army’s culture and it’s climate and institutional practices. When there is a proper balance it has a huge impact on the mindset of the Army’s Soldiers. Their actions or inactions impacts the five key attributes of the profession, and the four fields of expertise, and have long term effects on the Army’s culture and climate. These actions influence Soldiers’ perceptions that they are serving professional who have answered the call of service to the republic, it is important that Soldiers understand that their role is a calling and not just a job.
Military discipline is a special form of military relations. Its specifics lie in coordinating the conduct and actions of military personnel and in serving to establish such relations as are required for successful joint activity. The conduct of servicemen is regulated by special rules and standards of behavior set forth in laws, military regulations and orders of commanders (superiors) and reflecting the specific features of the military
Discipline is being considered as a primary requisite in each military academy in the world. Especially, during any military training discipline is being required. So, show how well disciplined soldier you are in front of your senior military officials you should be punctual. Punctuality plays a vital role in making any cadet a full fledged military official. Military training is considered as one of the toughest assignment to crack.
disciplined and well-directed enemy. In you work in the Army we may wonder why the officers and noncommissioned officers insist on
For example you are told to be at work at 0900 work call, you are supposed to be there at 0850. But, you may ask, how does me not being at 0630 formation on Fort Hood for PT put other people’s lives in danger? Well, it doesn’t. But, making being on time, or even a bit early, a habit can help when you eventually do end up down range and you need to be on time for a mission. Civilians are also expected to be at their right place at the right time. The only difference is being on time is on time in the civilian world. If work is at 10:00 then as long as it’s not 10:01, then you are in the clear. Showing people you can be on time not only shows you have discipline, but you respect for your superior leaders. Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more than likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Nobody wants to depend on a person that can’t even simply show up for a formation that is held every day at the same time and place. In basic accountability and being on time was strongly instilled in us
The importance of being on time in the military (or anywhere at all), is simply a symptom of discipline, which was instilled in new enlisted soldiers during basic training. Being on time shows reliability. We have to show discipline, responsibility, show care through following military rules and regulations. Being on time not only pertains to accountability, but shows respect to our fellow soldiers, our unit, command and organization as a whole. Being on time also will avoid any disciplinary actions that may hinder you from reaching your goals. Being on time may have a greater importance and effect, than we may know. Being on time enables us to be able to trust and rely on each other in life and death situations. Last but not least, it
It is important to be on time for work because it shows that you are dedicated in the things that you do and it can help you in moving up in your field of work. It is important to be on time in the military because you will be at the right place at the right time, you will be accountable for and if anything was to happen no one can accuse you of any thing because you were where you were suppose to be at the right
In today's army, being on time can be a paramount activity. Consequences for not showing up on time can be disasterous. In a normal job, you get up, go to work, and come home, and that is the limit of the level of involvement. The army is not one of those jobs. In the army, we are constantly training our mind and bodies for a combat environment. In such an environment, the level of involvement must be much higher. It is understood that any mistake, however seemingly small can have extreme consequences. Among those consequences are situations which can lead to soldiers loosing their lives.
b. While military discipline is the result of effective training, it is affected by every feature of military life. It is manifested in individuals and units by cohesion, bonding, and a spirit of teamwork; by smartness of appearance and action;
One of the most Important self disciplines the US military stresses is timeliness. In order to meet hard times and avoid unwanted corrective training, a soldier must develop a sense of time management. Punishment for failing to meet designated hard times can range from corrective training, such as writing a paper, or harsher punishment, such as article 15s, for more serious offenses, like missing movement. In order to properly manage one's time a system and routine must be devised based upon expected time requirements, such as the time it takes to get to and from point A to B, and extra time must be allotted to allow for unexpected time sinks, or obstacles with a potential for a variance in time consumption, such as construction, or the security gates when entering post. After deciding upon a
Deadlines are particularly important to meet when you are a leader of soldiers. Deadlines keep your mind focused on what you need to do and by when. Everything done in the military is based on time and deadlines. Whether is time to eat or get ready for a mission or even just a simple exercise. Reason for this is because setting everything up in a timely manner which helps keep everything organized; meet deadlines, and increase maximum productivity. Time is something that you can’t get back once it’s lost so it’s best to manage your time as much as possible. Each day the in the military in constructed around a time schedule, from the beginning of the day till the end at COB. First of all the military is all about being organized, using time management is the best way to stay completely organized and prioritize task. This way when you have tasked that need to be done you set when they have to be done at a certain time, by who and get it done at that time. This way people aren’t trying to this or try to do that all at the same time, and nothing will ever get done at that designated time with the work divided. With time management you set task #1, task #2, task #3 etc. in a timely manner to ensure each task gets done on time. This also helps keep everything and everyone looking professional as possible and maintain order. The military is all about looking professional and staying well
Military Discipline is a state of order and obedience existing within a command. Self discipline in the military is where soldiers do the 4 rights without being told, even in the absence of the commander. Discipline is created within a unit by instilling a sense of confidence and responsibility in each individual. To strengthen discipline, senior leaders need to give praise to their subordinates, either individually or as a whole, for tasks done well. By doing this, it will accomplish every commanders goal of having a unit that functions well and builds a bond which binds together the team. Everything in life requires some sort of discipline. Whether it is hitting a baseball, learning to sew , playing a musical instrument, making good
A couple of these simple key factors from time is limited, are you cannot go back in time. What this means is that no matter what you do or how you spend your time there are only seven days a week, twenty-four hours in a day, and sixty minutes per hour. What this means is that no matter how hard badly you feel like you will need more time in a day to accomplish your tasks, time is set. Next by exercising good time management junior officers will be able to set the standard to make it a priority for everyone to turn in all of their things on time.
