Issue of immigration violation is a threat to both the community and national security. The congress mandated the federal agencies to detain and deal with issues of immigration violation. And the state and law enforcers come to play only to act as watch dogs on behalf of the federal government. They are mandated by the Fourth Amendment to act, warrant or take legal actions “probable cause of action.” It is therefore prohibited by the law for a state and a local enforcer to detain undocumented alien without legal cause to do so. Arrests should be purely be on the basis of a logic suspicion, federal crimes or criminal violations as per the Fourth amendment. Otherwise the congress mandated the federal government full responsibility of detaining
Before lands were set up into fixed colonies, people were free to roam and sail as they pleased. However, this is not to say that discrimination did not exist, and some were killed when they entered into foreign borders. The same holds true today in the United States of America, not necessarily due to discrimination but due to the immigration laws that were put into practice in 1790, beginning with the Naturalization Act. While it is safe precaution to make sure who enters the country and what their motives are, many are being denied the access to the American dream. It is because of this that the U.S. must take a step back and reevaluate their immigration policies.
The United States is known as “the land of opportunities and hope” but it does not always offer what it portrays. Undocumented immigrants who come to the U.S. in search of “the American dream” have faced many injustices in this country, a country which claims to be free and fair. Undocumented immigrants are everywhere; however, not all immigrants are bad or trying to hurt others. In the United States, especially in California, Mexicans are the targeted group when it comes to politics and other important government issues. Mexicans are seen as invaders who are constantly killing and raping, but in reality this is not true. There are some Mexicans who kill and rape, yet there are also Mexicans who come to the U.S. to work and provide for their family.
America, the land of the free, is a place many people look to in times of great despair, grief, and tragedy. The United States is a country built upon refuges and outcasts seeking a life many call the “American Dream”. The Founding Fathers established a country for people of all types of races, ethnicities, cultures and religions. This unique quality is what draws in immigrants and makes our nation powerful. Unfortunately, due to recent tourist attacks, the United States has become even stricter on their immigration policies and countless people are now having to flee to the United States illegally. Many undocumented immigrants including Jose Vargas, escape to America in attempt for a more prosperous and healthy life such
Immigrants come to the United States to live the American Dream. The dream of equal opportunity to achieve success through hard work and determination. Unfortunately, the majority of immigrants are not legally eligible to live in America. However, these immigrants go against the laws in the United States. Without having the opportunity to pass to the border legally, most of these immigrants choose to go through the toughest mission to enter America. They go through many obstacles such as, crossing rivers with depths up to sixty feet, walking long distances of a desert, and climbing mountains. Some immigrants succeed in crossing the border, while others die on their way due to dehydration and starvation. Although, they go through a tough journey, they are living in America with the fear of being deported. This later becomes a big impact for families.

Our federal government has no greater constitutional responsibility, nor more important function than protecting our borders. There is also no greater failure than the lack of performance in this duty. Hundreds of thousands of our troops guard borders around the world, while an epidemic of illegal immigration to our country goes unchecked.
Immigration has been a controversial subject over the years, especially when the time comes for Presidential elections, but while legislators play politics, the immigration problem has continued to be unresolved. The future will tell whether the immigration reform will resolve the problem of millions of immigrants who already reside in the United States, or the problem will continue to be ignored until another presidential term. Very little has been done in the past or is being done in the present to resolve any of the issues surrounding immigration.
There are many different ways people migrate to the U.S., and many views on it, but illegally should not be one of the ways. Some of the immigrants sneak past border patrol and forge identities for themselves or get in other ways that allow them to take minimum wage jobs. Other immigrants are refugees, the government granted asylum to. Then there are the anchor babies being born in the U.S. as citizens, to illegal immigrant parents these babies are legal United States citizens, unlike their parents. We cannot just simply separate them from their parents.
America’s open border policies are not the way to protect our citizens and our future. Illegal Immigration shouldn’t be considered to be a good thing, as a handful of illegals could pose as innocent beings, but could be vital threats to the country. As stated by Fair.org, “...their presence outside the law furnishes an opportunity for terrorists to blend to the same shadow (Fair.org)”. When you bring in any type of illegal immigrant, no matter who he or she is, will pose a risk of having to commit a crime or a terrorist act.
Being an immigrant in the US, fortunately legal, gives me the access to the immigrant community--legal and illegal. I have heard so many stories that make me question the fairness of the immigration system specifically and the United States generally. One year ago, my colleague’s wife was able to get a U.S/ visa. She traveled with their kids, who were Americans by birth, to the U.S.A. At the airport, the immigration officer gave her a three month stay. After the three months were over, she had to stay on illegally. The immigration found out. INS (The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service) wanted to deport the mother and canceled the father’s application for permanent residency. So far this may seem ok, but here comes the shock.
“Virginitie, Mariage and Widowhood” (MAINER). Stage one: A girl child is controlled by her father and other male figures around her. She grows up to be a young woman, a virgin, a prospective bride. Stage two: Marriage— decided again by powerful men around her. She has no freedom to choose her soul partner. No precedence for love or compatibility. This is the stage the submissive woman spends most of her life; her duty is to fulfill her dominant husband’s every wish and demand. She is entrusted to take care of the household, and bear and raise children. When her husband meets his end, she is now a widow and is looked down by society. At this juncture of her life again, she is sub-ordinate to men in her family circle. This was the typical
When speaking about immigration offenses such as what to do with the millions of undocumented immigrants who live in the US, it will bring tension because not only does our morals and our country’s history pulls us towards amnesty, but our laws and the repercussions of allowing amnesty pull us towards deporting them back to their home counties. Being a criminal justice major, while I have sympathy for those who are here for an opportunity for a better life, my legal and moral side cannot justify them breaking our laws and should be charged with a criminal sanction. While cruel sounding yes, but when there are rules stating how you can immigrate to this country we cannot award those who break our laws. Not only does that spit in the face of
In 2010, the State of Arizona passed Senate Bill 1070 which was intended to create additional barriers for illegal immigrants crossing the border into the United States from Mexico. The bill required immigrants to carry their immigration papers at all times, forbid illegal immigrants from holding a job (employers could be punished), allowed arrests to be made if officials had probable cause for deportation, and required police officers to check the immigration status of anyone they detained. Before it went into effect, the federal government stepped in, claiming the law was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court sided with the federal government in Arizona v. United States, agreeing that all but the fourth provision are preempted by federal immigration
America, to everyone around the world—even to those who have not stepped on its land, is acknowledged as the "Land of Opportunity," a place applauded and revered for its allocation of freedom and equality among its inhabitants. Because of this, those seeking to flee poverty and lack of resources to sustain their lives come this country to experience the "American Dream." One might ask, however. why the presence of illegal immigrants is still apparent within the country's boundaries if everyone on this territory is equal to one another. Illegal immigration is controversial, separating the desires of the country between two decisions: keep them in the United States or transport them back to their homeland. Many orthodox Americans are opposed
Illegal immigration has become a huge issue in the United States, it is estimated that there are about twelve million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. today and that number is growing larger every day. This issue has caused multiple social, economic, safety, and law issues within the country. The state and federal government is using billions of dollars on things such as school, welfare, and medical and receiving minimal or no money in return simply because they are giving out the money to illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes to help fund things. Even though illegal immigrants help the economy, take low paying jobs, and improve the overall image of America, the U.S. must not allow any persons who enter this country illegally to
