Ice Caps: The Cause Of Global Climate Change

Through looking at recorded snow fall totals, Lake Freeze overs, and agriculture impacts one is able to start seeing trends in environmental changes. By looking at record snow fall records we can get a sense of historical air temperature and see how a specific location has been warming. Lake Freeze over data also gives good indications of an average air temperature increase. But there are still many people in this world that doubt that climate change is real. Yes earth goes through different periods of time where the climate has changed drastically. Look at the Ice Age, there was a time where a huge glacier stretched all the way across Vermont and in some places that glacier was 2 miles thick. Take for example, former Texas governor Rick Perry, who is in charge of the Department of Energy stated in 2011 that, “Global warming was an unproven scientific theory.”(Sidahmed, M. (2016, December 15). To the new presidential administration the topic of climate change has been looked at as a joke or even as a false idea. What we now know with the amounts of glaciers residing and the rise in temperatures and sea levels I believe that this subject is a bigger topic than what they believe. This subject needs to be taken seriously and we as humans need to take responsibility for some of our actions that have impacted climate change. I strongly disagree with many different actions that our president has taken regarding the issue

Climate change is not real. The ice caps are not melting. Animals are not becoming endangered. Food is abundant on the land and in the sea. These are the arguments by naysayers and climate change deniers. These are the people who refuse to listen to generations of history and scientific research. These are the political administrations that will stop scientific advancements.

These last two election cycles have demonstrated the importance of climate change in relation to politics and the american people. What is unfortunate is that what seems to be a very crucial and real problem in our human survival, according to scientists, is being debated by people who do not have the scientific credentials to even discuss the science behind the reality of climate change. Those behind the skeptics, have funded a successful campaign against the reality of the facts and have introduce doubt into the sciences.

Some research shows that climate change is a load of crap. Climate change is a natural event that occurs in cycles of warmings and ice ages, some examples of which are: ice age about 10000 years ago; Mediterranean see froze to ice a few centuries ago; Sea shell in the Artic Ocean suggest a period of warming. The spontaneous worldwide eruption of volcanoes and peak of meteorite and asteroid activity during the dinosaur era would bring more damage to climate that we humans. This year winter in Toronto lasted until April rather than February – where’s the global warming? These so called “scientists” create speculations of these so called “global warming”, “carbon foot print” etc. and conduct these so called “researches” to continue being financed and receive guaranteed income. On the other hand, United Nations is a organization filled with a bunch of bias bureaucrats. In other words, the chain of bureaucrats between the investing party and the so called “Climate Fund” pocket a good chunk of the monetary funds before they even reach the over exaggerated or even non-existing issue. Other examples include excessive and unnecessary spending on “infrastructure” and “job creation”. Climate change has been in effect because of the rising temperature. The ice caps have been melting which proves that temperature and the Earth has been warming from Nasa. There has been a rise in temperature, in 2000-2009 has been documented as the hottest year on record according to www.skepticalscience.com. This supports climate change because there has been records of the hottest year on record which proves that climate change is in effect. Global warming is hot topic nowadays. Alarmists and scientists fight to make their statements known, but while the alarmists avoid the scientist, non-governmental organizations pass themselves as scientist. They not only give out exaggerated data, they also have the nerve to accuse humans of being the cause of global warming. However, 80% of the tide gauges show less rise than the official “global average”. These statistics accurately represent how torn many are on the subject of climate change. Although there are great points to be made on each side, it is always better to be safe than sorry, and the fight against climate change, believe or not, should be in the back of one’s mind at all

The new era of digital communication is where the media influences a lot of people into either believing that humans are the cause of global warming or that they aren’t. A perfect example of a news website that supports global warming, is called Live Science. Live Science posts many scientific stories and information that have to do with current events. A few examples of some of the different kinds of news stories that Live Science posted that connects to global warming, are polar bears in the northern regions struggling to survive, record breaking droughts in California, and large amounts of ice caps melting in Antarctica (Global Warming). The impact humans are having on mother Earth is increasing its effects with the rising of sea levels. Global warming is causing polar ice sheets to melt, which is a major cause of adding volume to our oceans. Furthermore, the troposphere thickens, due to greenhouse gases, increasing the amount of radioactive waves that causes the seawater to warm up, resulting in ocean expansion. Poverty is an ever present danger; people are living in squalor on the streets. The percentage of the population that is homeless is only increasing; these people are going hungry and cannot help themselves. This can be caused by or lead to substance abuse. In order to cope with the situation they are in, whether it is homelessness or just the struggle for life, they turn to mind splitting and body numbing substances. This only creates more problems like increasing their own poverty, and causing them to do things they would not normally do. Environmentalist stat that that cows farting produce greenhouse gas. These environmentalist are really saying that cows are a problem and are breaking down the ozone layer. It depends on the cow's diet but an average cow can fart every 40-90 seconds so it could fart 1,300 to 1,500 times a day. Thats a lot of greenhouse gases being let out just by one cow. Not many people believe in climate change(G.W), “but the people who do believe want the government to take part or take some kind of action and help make it more serious matter”( Scott Clement-Washington Post). They think it should be a one if the number one priority. 34% of people say GW is a big serious threat to the world and 64% of people say that it is no threat whats so ever.
