The book the I am reading is called Dead And Gone, By Norah McClintock. Furthermore the book is about an 14 year old boy named Mike who's parents have died and know has to live with his foster parent John Riel. In the book Mike has to serve community service for stealing CD's. Working at the community center Mike meets a girl who's mother got murdered, And Riel knows something about the murder because he was an ex police officer. During this time, the police had found a body that mite of been Emily's mother. The main theme of the book is crime, murder, drama, adventure, and thriller.

In the film “ I Am” written and directed by Tom Shadyac, it is trying to show what is wrong with the world and in the process they end up showing what is truly good with the world. I our world today we can see that greed and competition is making the world we live in today a horrible place and environment. This novel starts off on June 9, 1976, in California with an African American Girl named Dana on her 26th birthday with her husband Kevin and are moving into their new home. Kevin has started to unpack his office and Dana is unpacking books. Then Kevin walks out of the office to talk to Dana when Dana all of a sudden starts to get dizzy and Dana then finds herself in a grove of trees thats in the late 1800’s in the state of Maryland by a nearby river when she spots a young boy drowning named Rufus. She then goes into the river to save the unconscious boy. Once the boy has came back to life and she dealt with his mother she reappears back into her apartment. Several minutes later she begins to feel dizzy again and then disappears.

I think S. E. Hinton, uses adolescence very well to make a very poignant point about social class in America. Most the time when you hear people talk about social class you think of the English aristocrats and how they treated the peasants like they were better than them like the peasants had be beholden to them simply because they had money. The reason why I chose the book By The Time You Read This, I’ll Be Dead was because this book is amazing! It was really sad at some parts when she tried to kill herself. Also, when she meets the boy it was romantic. Daelyn Rice is so obsessed with suicide, but just not sure which method will give the best combination of least pain and maximum benefits. Due to the family’s reality being so harsh and cold, Amanda lives in an illusion to convince herself that all is not horrendous. Amanda’s misperception of reality causes her to become idealistic; being idealistic means hoping for the best outcome to always occur. Amanda only perceives the favorable things in life; she does not take into account the unfavorable. Being idealistic makes a person optimistic and being truthful makes a person a pessimist. What are the consequences when a person is overly idealistic or overly truthful?
