My goals in life are to get a first enlist in the Navy, hope to get a job as a diver in the special operations program. After my first enlistment is up, I want to be a diver at an aquarium where I can feed the animals; Meanwhile, I would like to attend Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at The University of Miami and earn a doctorate degree in Marine Biology to become a Marine Biologist. I've always been fascinated with animals, especially aquatic life. Although, I wasn't dead-set on becoming one at first, over spring break I made my final decision. We went to an aquarium and I just loved every bit of it; the animal’s interactions, the knowledge behind all of it, and the joy I saw between the employees and the animals. I’m very interested in not just the study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water, but also marine conservation and ecology. Thinking about the studies of protecting and preserving of the ecosystems in oceans and seas and interactions among organisms and their environment just gets my full attention. I could sit for hours and hours and listen to anybody talk about these subjects and they would have my full attention, one-hundred percent. This subject has never, and never will lose my interest.
As I've researched, marine biologists must achieve at certain skills, such as: public speaking, science, critical thinking, reading comprehension and active listening. I succeed very well in all of those skills, yes, some more than
When I was six years old my mother asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I told her with a straight face “a paleontologist” at that age I knew how to spell and pronounce all the scientific names for almost every known species of dinosaur at the time and I also knew their feeding habits, habitats, period they inhabited. Fast Forward five years later my career goal had changed to a herpetologist, I envisioned myself treating amphibians and reptiles while performing zoonotic as well as conservative research. From an early age I was fascinated with animals and knew I wanted my future occupation to be involved with them but it wasn’t until I was a sophomore in high school that I was introduced to the possibility of veterinary medicine.
I used to tell my friends and teachers that I wanted to explore the medical field because that was what my family wanted me to do. They wanted me to become a doctor as it is a well praised profession that pays extremely well. As I grew older and entered middle school, I realized that becoming a doctor wasn’t something I was immensely interested in. Instead of a doctor, I wanted to become a veterinarian, treating animals instead of people. I’ve become aware of my passion for animals ever since I began having pets: from fish to hamsters to dogs. I decided to focus on animals when I first took one of my hamsters to a veterinarian. I thought that their profession was fun and interesting because it revolves around animals, something that I love and grown up with. Although studying veterinary sciences is difficult and competitive, becoming an animal doctor has been one of my greatest
There is nothing glamorous about putting on scrubs everyday but it is beautiful to be an integral part of a patient taking an interest in their health. The oral cavity is intricately associated with the rest of the body and a fundamental, but often forgotten part of overall health. As a dental hygienist I have the opportunity to educate and help people improve or maintain their periodontal health. I would like to transfer because I have a huge desire to educate future registered dental hygienists and by continuing my education I will be equipping myself to be a stronger leader and mentor for students. Dental hygiene is my passion and my desire is to share my enthusiasm for dental hygiene with future generations of dental hygienists. The
I have always had a passion and interest in working with the unknown. When I was in high school, I always made sure I was taking science classes that interested me, and would help me decide on what I wanted to major in college. I chose neuroscience as my major because it is a subject that continues to fascinate me. Neuroscience is the study of how the nervous system develops, its structure, and what it does. I want to focus on the brain and its impact on behavior and cognitive functions. I want to go into clinical neuroscience (looking at the disorders of the nervous system) or cognitive neuroscience, which studies the higher cognitive functions and underlying neural bases. With a neuroscience major, I would like to pursue a career in clinical research, do research for the National Institute of Health, work for the CDC and specialize in neurological disease, and/or run a clinical research project in another country. I want to pursue a career in one of these areas because I want to dedicate my knowledge, skills, and time to helping people and the world of science. I want my work to make a positive impact on society and be beneficial for the forthcoming generations. I want to help people and discover new things that will help those in need. I am motivated every day to continue working hard by realizing there are still more things to be discovered and that it could be done by me.
By being able to work with different creatures and animals I am ready to become a marine biologist. Since I was a little girl I have been following in my grandpa’s footsteps by working with animals at his veterinary clinic. I have been very successful in cleaning feces off the floor, feeding the animals, and delivering medication to the doctors. Each and every one of these skills I have shown great practice in and are absolutely vital to succeed. My interpretation of being college and career ready is having certain skills to go to the workplace and shine in the career of your choosing. As a result, my prefered career as a marine biologist requires many skills such as solving tasks with others, evaluating and understanding information, and working with an assortment of people and
Over the course of my life, I have wanted to be many things. I was going to be a nurse or a chef or even an FBI profiler, like the characters on the show Criminal Minds. Whatever my current obsession was, that’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a veterinarian at one point too, but quickly abandoned the idea when I realized how poor my luck with animals was as a child. For the record, I have been attacked by at least three goats, a chicken, and my cat (many times). Despite all this, my love for animals has stayed consistent throughout my life. I’ve been especially interested in sea life since about middle school when I began to watch Shark Week on the Discovery Channel. With each passing year, I became more captivated with the beautiful, misunderstood creatures. By my senior year in high school, I knew what I wanted to with my life. I wanted to spend it learning about and helping to protect these awesome predators.
When I start my years at UW-Eau Claire, I will be starting with my major as Undecided. However, I do have a few different majors and/or careers in mind. One of the ideas I have in mind is becoming a Marine Biologist. Ever since I was young, I loved learning about the ocean; one of my favorite things to do, in fact, is to watch documentaries about ocean life with my dad. Learning about the way the creatures live and survive, is an important aspect of my life. However, I also enjoy learning about the history of ancient cultures; specifically about their mythology and religion. Therefore, another option I am considering is something involving those aspects of history, archeology perhaps. My love for mythology stemmed from my love of fantasy. As
Ten years from now I hope to have already accomplished my dream goals or at least be striving towards those goals. The word phrase “dream goals” can entail a million little easily accomplishable things, such as attending college or far fetched goals such as going into outer space, not to say that it is impossible to reach such a far fetched goals. My main goals or “dream goals” that I am currently striving for are career based, and those goals are to one day become a successful Marine Biologist that specializes in cetaceans, marine mammals, while also trying my hardest to converse the natural beauty of the oceans ecosystem. Now this may not be the most finically sound job, or even easily achieved career, but for me it is not about the money or easy way. Would I prefer that I have a high income? Yes. Would I prefer to strive for a job that is not so competitive and limited? Of course. However, I feel in love with the ocean and its creatures below the surface a long time ago, whether others can tell or not.
Knowing my career goal would require obtaining a doctorates degree, I completed my undergraduate career with the challenges of graduate school in mind. I took extra steps outside of the classroom such as studying abroad in Kenya. In 2015 I took the Primatology, Wildlife Ecology, and Conservation
Do you wish to someday be marine biologist , a poet, or even a stay at home parent? Well no matter what you aspire to do with your life you need to have faith in yourself.Hope and dreams demand people to believe in themselves and what they are capable of doing.Without confidence and motivation it is hard to maintain hope, dreams , and goals.
Before attending the University of Arizona, I felt a need to set a specific goal to achieve in ten years later. The collegiate journey was more different than I aspect. With far more about many options in careers, I had realized that broader goals could help me explore what actually interest me the most. Before I started college, I had chosen pre-physiology. However, I am majoring in biomedical engineering now and really enjoy taking engineering courses. Currently, I have broadened my horizons to consider both graduate and medical schools unlike before. Before, I never believed that one can change goals so rapidly. Now, college has changed me.
There are many educational requirements to become successful in biology. Firstly, to be successful in biology, you will need a high school education, A Masters or Doctorate degree, and a knowledge in the field of science. A master's degree in biology is required, but a doctorate is required for some jobs, mostly in education. This is important because to even become a biologist you will need to get a college education. (Marine Biologist). You will also need a lexile of 1400 or higher to read the material needed to become a biologist (Jumbo Squid). This is important because
In ten years I can see myself out of college and working as a marine biologist. I always thought when I was younger that you were obligated to have your whole life planned out by the minute, but I didn't. A year ago I had no idea what I wanted to do when I was older. The fact that I finally have an idea about what I want to do is certainly important to me. I find this career so intriguing because it has to do with three of my favorite things; animals, the ocean, and science. With this career, I not only can provide for my family, but I can have fun while doing it. I will always be obligated to remind myself that by achieving this goal, I must need to work hard now and in the future. Every long term goal needs to have short term goals leading
The ocean takes up more than seventy percent of earths surface, but there are so many mysteries that we have yet to solve. We have explored less than five percent of the ocean, the majority of what makes up the planet we live on. I aspire to study the ocean and all of its mysteries, to discover new findings and help the animals of the sea along the way. I have wanted to be a marine biologist since I was little. The ocean has always been where I feel at home. From floating on the waves looking out into the unknown, or below the water searching for something new, becoming a marine biologist has always been my passion. Alongside my passion of my dream job was my love for sports, volleyball in particular. I was faced with the challenge of giving
Marine biologist help us to know more about animals in a sense that we should know about our world we live in. Edward Thorndike says, “That the process of animal learning rested not on some form of reasoning and not even on imitation.” It's true it's not just something we do it's something we choose to do as in a fact that animals have a huge impact on us whether we think so or not. Animals are studied by marine biologist because we want to know about who created them and what's out there. Yes it's hard but we love the job, not only because we get paid a lot but it's the fact I or others get to dive do things we love all day and get paid for it. Marine biology is not only focused on the facts of sea life it focus on all of the life's sources.
