I Want To Pursue A Scholarship Essay

I was thrilled to find out about this scholarship and want to thank you personally for giving students like me the opportunity for further financial assistance in college. I appreciate your contribution to the education of my generation, the future leaders of the world.

Thank you for awarding me a scholarship to further my education at Radford University. In addition I appreciate the graduation gifts, cards and words of encouragement as I celebrated graduation from high school. I promise to work hard and use all gifts wisely. My father is going to retire in some years and my mother is a house wife. They both have invested in their house heavily therefore these reasons might affect my family’s ability to fund my college tuition.

Robert Frost once wrote, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I, I took the one less travelled by and that has made all the difference. As a young, educated, black man I have already chosen to take the road less travelled. Life is a journey where you stumble and fall, but I elected to not become a negative statistic. While in high school I decided to start my college education early in the pursuit of bettering my mind and proving to my ancestors that their plight is being well-respected.

I would like to thank you for your donation to the Amy Wasserman scholarship fund. I attend Cornell University and the cost of attendance is high. I had to take out some loans to cover some of my costs, but the money you donated will help pay some of them off. I live at home with two hard working parents who spend most of their money ensuring that I receive a proper home life and a good education. This scholarship has allowed my parents to not have to worry about my books and school supply expenses for this coming school year. Ever since I was a young kid I have always been interested in movies. My grandma, who was full of the wise the life experience left, always knew about my interest in movies. She feed my vain for the art. Even though her religion, she professed Adventist of seven-day religion, didn't let her go to the cinema, she always found the way to took me to the cinema. She and I enjoyed watch movies. We used to sit in the darkness room, with our faces illuminated from the reflection of the light which rebooted from the screen, both absorbs in the plot of the movie which made us laughed or cried. After the movie, while we went back to her home, she started to talk about the movie. She had a particular point of view where the main story

My mom always told me life was about making tough choices, and throughout my life I’ve had to make them. It has been difficult at times to make it my priority but I have had to learn how to do that. Whenever she would tell me this though, I always thought it would be making the tough decision between right and wrong, not between two things I love. Over the summer I got the opportunity to attend a college class at NYU under a partial scholarship. The class I was going to be taking would give me a taste of the kind of classes I would be taking if I went into the international relations field, which is what I plan on studying in college. I was so excited when I got the letter in the mail, until I read the date, July 30th through August 5th. NYU class ran exactly through the week of honestly one of my favorite events of the year, Camp Able.
