I want to be Neonatal Nurse because, I enjoy helping kids and babies, taking care of them and making a difference in their life. Neonatal Nurses emerged in 1970s by helping the woman give birth, babies were getting sick and the mom was not able to take care of them right away after the delivery. Technology has got involved helping the infants with their variety of problems, and making sure everything is okay with not only the bay but the mom as well. For this kind of job you will have to have Patience because you will be dealing with not only babies that are sick and possibly dying, but the mothers also. You also have to be
I am interested in becoming a neonatal nurse. Neonatal nursing is a different kind of nursing that is only involved with infants with many different problems such as prematurity, birth defects, surgical problems, infections, or cardiac problems. Even though neonatal is the first month after birth many infants continue to have problems for a couple months, some neonatal nurses care for the infant until they are two years old, others just take care of them until they are discharged, some of the infants that they cared for and helped them survive come visit the nurses with their families to thank them for all they had done for them when they were ill. As a neonatal nurse you face an abundance of responsibilities which they are all equally
Two Budgets are your career and min wage. The career I want to have is to be a Forensic Nurse. First, the min wage is how much the state sets for you to get paid, it’s like a certain amount ($7.50). The career wage is basically how much money you get from the job that you get or want. The career wage is supposed to be basically like almost the same or better than min wage, if not something is all the way wrong. In the min wage when they tell you you are getting that amount, you sometimes get it or sometimes not. The career and min wage are supposed to be mainly different.
A baby was just born at 26 weeks gestation. Just over half the normal 40 weeks a baby should stay inside the mother. The baby is immediately whisked away and taken to be evaluated and prepared for a long journey ahead. Ever since I could remember babies and the nursery at the hospital have fascinated me. Whenever we would go visit a friend who had a baby, I would find myself peaking over the windows into the nursery. I have known for a while that working in the neonatal intensive care unit is what I want to pursue. Recently I have been looking into nurse practitioners and furthering my education beyond my BSN. Being able to care for these infants in the most critical stages of their life, and being able to provide them the support they need to survive outside the womb seems so satisfying . Neonatal nurse practitioners have years of education, deep history, detailed job description, high demands and some legal issues.
Premature babies typically have underdeveloped respiratory systems and problems maintaining body heat, so they may be kept on a respirator or in an incubator. Although the neonatal period is the first month after birth, these nurses often care for children up to age 2 who have long-term medical issues. While their primary focus is the health of the babies, neonatal nurses obviously will spend a lot of time with anxious parents who are visiting their children in the NICU and must be able to calmly and clearly explain the babies illnesses and treatment, as well as involve the parents in their
All neonatal nurses must be qualified as a registered nurse, earned through an associate’s degree. Some hospitals accept nurse with an associate’s degree while some only accept the ones with a bachelor’s degree. Neonatal nurses are all required to pass the state board of nursing exam, the National Council Licensure Exam. Just to begin the journey in this career, earning an associate’s will take about 2 years. To move higher, quicker continuing an education would be best to be able to earn a bachelor’s in another 2 years. A part-time will do some justice to be able to continue an education and pay it off, as well. It will cost up to as much as $40,000 for tuitions, books, fees and
NNP’s are specialist nurses that mainly care for premature or seriously ill newborns. Neonatal Nursing is a perfect career for me because I want]ed something that involved the medical field and babies. I would not see Neonatal Nursing as another well-paid job, but more as like “Hey, I get to take care of babies all day, getting paid for it is just a bonus!” Neonatal Nurses care for multiple babies at once (which I have lots of experience with). Some people find it nerve-wracking to care for just one baby, and seeing someone trying to take on multiple would be an interesting thing to see.
For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamed of becoming a nurse. I knew that I wanted to be a nurse I was just not sure of what kind of nurse, but as I got older I grew to love babies and kids more and more. It then hit me, that I wanted to be a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (NICU). Being born prematurely, and knowing by hearing stories and reading about the NICU has shaped me even more to want to be a NICU nurse. I know that with being a NICU nurse involves a lot of time and dedication, but that does not matter. I am always asked " How are you going to be able to handle being a NICU nurse", which leads to the response of "I know that it will be hard, but someone has got to do it". I have always been told that it takes someone
It has always been a dream of mine to pursue a career as a Neonatal Nurse. I chose this career because my love for babies/infants started out at a young age, and as I developed in school, I learned that I have a passion for science and the medical field. Although this career is known to be more rigorous, I believe the rewards outweigh the challenges. Neonatal nurses work with newborn babies that were born with a variety of problems ranging from premature birth, cardiac malformations, not being fully developed, and more. These nurses also work with the families of the babies in comforting and educating the parents as to what to expect and how to properly care for their baby.
Caring for my patient is a key to having a successful business. As a Neonatal Nurse I will respect the mother and her new born. I will show my staff how much I care by working as a team to accomplishing our goals. When I encourage and motivate the mother who may face difficulties, I will keep her baby comfortable while going through medication withdrawals. By creatively performing my job to the best of my ability and completing tasks in a timely matter, will help tremendously.
My major of interest is pre-nursing. I aspire to be an Obstetrician Gynecologist, upon completing undergraduate school. I am aware that over the long course of several hundred years humans have developed and evolved in various ways, I am interested in the role that evolution has played in living organisms. I chose my topic because I am interested in how evolution has been perceived by scientist and how it still remains as only a theory. The knowledge and understanding I will gain from reviewing this topic will be beneficial to my studies and future career choice. My paper will primarily focus on gaining the answer to the questions: How was the earth formed? Why does Evolution seem to be the most logical? How can you prove creation or evolution? Those few questions have mystified humans, especially biological scientist for eternities. There are two main theories that explain how the earth was created. These are the theories of evolution and creation. Evolution and creation are seen from two opposing viewpoints. The theory of creation has been separated into different groups. There are many various beliefs behind the creation theory but, individuals who are religious and believe in divine beings seem to accept the biblical creationist as one of most accepted forms of the creation theory. Biblical creationists
In the mid 1930’s childbirth was extremely dangerous and high percentages of women and their babies died sooner or later after birth. As people took notice, medicine took a lot of steps to lower the mortality rates. A lot of deliveries moved from the homes of people to the hospitals with more safer conditions of birth. Throughout the years, hosptials worked on getting their public sanitation, public nutrition and better control of some deadly chronic diseases. By the 1940s medicines surgical techniques and antibodies improved so much that it made the hospital that much more safer for people to deliver children. Medical Doctor, Elizabeth Eden, stated “By the 1950s, routine maternity care, originally designed to improve safety, had become almost too rigid. For example, the fear of infection, a major killer of mothers and babies, led to such practices as taking away all a woman's personal belongings when she entered the hospital; administering large, uncomfortable enemas; prohibiting fathers and other loved ones from entering the maternity area; keeping babies in nurseries, away from their mothers; and handling babies as little as possible. At the time, bottle-feeding was believed to be more sanitary and superior in almost every way to breast-feeding.” Medical Doctor, Elizabeth Eden also stated “The 1960s was a time when national and international organizations were founded to
I am a hardworking student who is highly motivated to go to college and pursue a nursing career. I try my best to be the most responsible person I can be by always completing all the duties and responsibilities that need to be completed. I am able to learn and memorize information in a short amount of time and be able to remember it afterward. These qualities can be very beneficial when it comes to succeeding in college. I am the type of person who does not give up and always tries to find a way out of any situation. I believe I am a very patient person and willing to help anybody and believe this is important when it comes to pursuing a nursing career. I believe the qualities I have developed throughout the years will help me be able to succeed
Growing up my dream was to become a nurse because I have always loved to take care of people. I also just knew when I finally started my nursing career I could save the world, While in nursing school, I quickly learned
Before the age of eighteen, I had lived in three countries. My father’s career as a doctor and scientist of Military, Disaster & Extreme Medicine took my family throughout Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Ukraine. Although it was a challenge for me to continually adapt to new places and learn three languages, I am grateful for the cultural exposure that traveling provided me. In every new environment I was raised to treat others with equal respect and kindness regardless of any differences or similarities we may have had. This exposure has taught me that successful acclimation lies in the ability to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds. Here, in a country of immigrants, I have met people from countries all around the world. The Nursing field provides me the opportunity to help all people regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. I seek a Nursing degree here in the United States in order to increase my knowledge and to be able to practice in the field of professional nursing. My goal of becoming a Registered Nurse has long been encouraged by my personal interest in the profession and by my experience, previous education and achievements. These factors continue to motivate and inspire my desire to seek this degree and become a healthcare professional.
