Everyone has their own ideal image for the President of the United States of America. The current US president, Barack Obama, was first elected in 2008 and reelected in 2012 for two consecutive terms. There were citizens who favored him, and there were some citizens who did not. The article, “I miss Barack Obama,” give the reader an author’s opinion of President Obama. After witnessing the current presidential candidate debates, David Brooks, the author, said he is going to miss President Obama a lot. He thinks President Obama possesses all the “good traits of character and leadership” a president should have such as “integrity, humanity, good manners and elegance”, which we take for granted (Brooks). I agree with Brooks’ opinion toward President
Being the president of the United States is one of the most prestigious and difficult jobs. The fate of millions of people rests in their hands. The president is the leader of their country. A good leader can bring prosperity wile a bad leader could bring death to a nation. James David Barbers article, “The Presidential Character: Predicting Performance in the White House” addresses types of leadership and how the president’s personality can affect their success in office. The premise of Barber's argument in The Presidential Character is that he believes presidential personalities fall into four categories and combinations of activity, passivity, positivity, and negativity and those personality combinations can be indicative of presidential performance.
The president is constantly looking toward the state of nation’s defense. All major decisions and strategies are his to make alone. Likewise, the president is the nation's number 1 political boss. People look to the president as the leader for public opinion. Even though the president seems like he couldn’t take on many other roles, he is also the Chief of State, he is the leader of the rituals of the American Democracy.
George .W. Bush and Barrack Obama two of America’s great presidents, both filled with their individual ambitions and charisma. These prominent presidents have ruled the most powerful country in the world using their different strategies and policies. George Bush, a republican was the 43rd president of America had two terms in power (cite). On the other hand Barrack Obama the first black president of America and a democrat was his successor. He is known for his charisma. Notwithstanding, their various good leadership skills and the criticisms, Obama has been a better and more successful president United States than George Bush. Despite the fact that his presidency being criticized for being a failure he has done a good job so far. Obama is showing promise in his policies trying fix the problems that were created by past American presidents in terms of handling the domestic and foreign policies.
Sreedhar Potarazu points out in his article “Obama's legacy is at stake” the future of the president’s mark on history. He wonders how, if the ACA doesn’t endure, the president will be remembered. Of course the first black president will always remain his honor, but as far as presidential achievements go where will Obama stand in the halls of American greatness? Potarazu is quick to point out other great leaders from our nation’s past and their noteworthy achievements in order to set a baseline of comparison for President Obama. The author even makes sure to mention such famous phrases as “Iran Hostage Crisis,” “Tear down that wall,” and “Read my lips” only to dramatically drive home the importance of a presidential legacy.
Similar to Bush, Barrack Obama’s inaugural speech considers the American people a crucial force within democracy that must be nurtured and encouraged to use their good will to create a more balanced, enriched nation. In a time when international relations were causing uncertainty at best, Obama looked to the theme of the American mission greatly during his speech. Being the first non-Caucasian president, there was a
Over time there has been alot of president's that has been in and out of the white house. Some of the president's have done a great job in office some president's didn't do so good in the white house. People in general have all sorts of different opinions on president's some people may say one president was the best while another person may disagree. In my opinion out of all the president's there is a man named Abraham Lincoln who i think was one of the greatest president's of all time. One of are president's in the present who i think does not do a very good job in office is president Barack Obama. There are a lot of reason's why i put these two in the catogories i did and in my essay i am going to explain this reasoning behind my
One of the president’s main goals during their term is to leave a positive and lasting impression on the country. No man wants to be known for the way that they ruined the economy or lost the trust of the citizens because of their poor law making skills or their lack of leadership skills. The president that I chose to analyze was President William Jefferson Clinton. He may not have left the office as a saint, but he did leave an impression on the nation that makes him a well-respected president in America’s history.
Because of their positions in the government and their resulting influential abilities, presidents are either praised for advancing the nation, criticized for not doing anything to help the country, or even making the country’s situation worse. Their success as president is dependent on the success of the country. People don’t take into consideration the attempts presidents make, but only those things that help or hurt the country. This leaves room for there to be a good president who may not accomplish much and a bad president who may accomplish a lot.
In next year, all of the citizens in the United States of America are ready to welcome a new president- the 45th president of the America. When everyone think about presidents, they usually give them many honor words, and they also consider that presidents are the most powerful elected official in the world. Specifically, in the America, majority presidents are men, and they are always the best leader of the country. Not embarrassed when everyone talked like this because right now the U.S is one of the most country developing fastest all over the world. Some president’s men everybody usually mention such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy. All of them are the best presidents whom every resident who live in the U.S are proud of them. However, to keep and have these situations are not easy. For instance, President Richard Nixon, the 37th U.S president, was the only commander-in-chief to resign from his position, after the 1970s Watergate scandal. A movie “All president’s man” is one of the best movie, which was, exposed the scandal of president Nixon when he was re-elected in the chair of president in White House. In my opinion that according this movie, media was observed on a lot of areas that were invisible for a long time.
Abstract: In order for one to rate the progress of the Obama administration, you must begin with an honest view of his entrance into office. The President came into office on the promises of change, and some very lofty ideas. He also came into an office plagued by war and a world wide threat of financial dishevel.
One has most likely been told that “anybody can grow up to be president”; however, not everyone is qualified to be the President of the United States ( What para 1 ). A president is a leader; therefore, he or she requires many important presidential qualities. Even though the President of the United States is similar to any other leader, he or she has to be able to withhold the pressure and criticism from the citizens of the United States. A leader for a sports team or club does not have to go through the criticism that the President has. The president has many expectations to live up to; he or she has to be unselfish, face crises, communicate with the public, and protect this great nation.
President Obama, like all Presidents before him, delivered a farewell address to the United States on January 20, 2017. As he stepped down as President he was eloquent and it was as clear as ever that he is a master of oration. Obama will go down in history as the first Black President as well as a strong orator who had the ability to captivate an audience through his use of ethos, pathos and logos amongst other rhetorical devices. His farewell address is a perfect example of Obama’s mastery of discourse as it is chock full of oratorical devices. Obama’s message to the American people and to the rest of the world is that it is essential that we maintain a sense of what it means to have a democracy and that in order to maintain peace and
Ever since Barack Obama became the 44th president of the United States on November 4, 2008 he has changed America. Barack Obama was, the first African American president in U.S., history. During the election for president many candidates had promised people of America that they will make America better. Little did America know that they only did this to get people's votes. Instead of making false promises to the people of America, Barack Obama was the only candidate that used the word “change (npr)” to make the American people interested in what was going to happen. During his presidency, Obama has brought changes to the white house and to the political map in the United States (biography).
As the United States prepares for the coming presidential race in 2016, circumstances throw into question which qualities a candidate should possess in order to be successful and make a positive impact on the nation. Looking into the past, one can surmise that the best leaders must be brave, and filled with indomitable courage, compassion, and hope. The president is one leading millions and making key decisions which have enormous ramifications. As the leader of a nation, he or she speaks out in times of joy and crisis, setting the tone for the entire government body.
As the presidential race comes close to the primary it will mean an end for Obama’s term. In a recent interview, he asked the question that most American had on their mind. Which was if he could would he yearn for a third term, to which he responded “no because he's confident that things are the lot better in the United States than when he came into office’. In fact is true while in office he’s done so much good just like he promised that he would, for example, decreasing unemployment rate, and increasing more jobs and countless other examples. But where no stranger to the fact that there’s still more work to be done in the world and he acknowledge that maybe the next person that he hands the key will hope that they can do as much as possible to help this country.
