You know that experience you have that you can really never get out of your head? It is not a good memory, one you will probably not tell your mother about until you are well in your forties? I had one of those during my second week of college. My group of friends that experienced this night with me included my roommate Dionia, Reggie, Reginald, and Fredrek. I met Reggie through Dionia, they are both from Orangeburg, SC and attended the same high school. Reginald is Reggie’s roommate which is how I met Reginald, and Fredrek is Reginald’s friend. Fredrek, Reginald and I all happen to be from the same town so we all clicked instantly. The second week of school we were all ready to go out and had some fun, that night we decided to meet up in my dorm so we could go out together. Until that night on Franklin Boulevard I had never felt so scared and helpless in my life.
I was never a person to go out and party in my hometown, but being 18 and in college I decided I would branch out a little but not to where I would be uncomfortable. Coming to Greensboro I knew there were parts of the city that were prone to violence, being new to the city I did not know where those areas were just yet. We decided earlier in the week that we were going to go out that Saturday, Fredrek started looking on Snapchat for addresses or any flyers for parties that we could go to. He found two, one was downtown at a “club” and the other was a house party. The night we were going out we took an Uber while
Catherine and me met at a party at a friends house. It wuz a holloween party. I wuz drunk
It was a Friday night, at the Peoria Civic Center. I was there for the Heartland Heroes Concert. This was a fundraiser for the American Red Cross. I went to the concert with my mom, Ashley, and her mom. RaeLynn, Scotty McCreery, and another local girl country singer was there. The concert was incredible. The concert ended at about 10:00 P.M. We all went out to dinner after the concert. We all decided on Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. When we arrived at Buffalo Wild Wings they told us we could sit out on the patio or the bar. The main dining area was full. We decided to sit out in the patio. The patio was all enclosed, so it wasn’t cold out there. We chose to sit at a small square table in the back. There was only one other group of people out
After hours of straightening my hair, applying makeup, and getting dressed I finally made my way to meet him and his friend. During my walk I contemplated on how the night was going to go, but I couldn’t get Chase out of my head. Finally I greeted Jordan with a hug and turned around to start walking to the car, unfortunately to my surprise Chase was walking toward us. I had Jordan at my side and his friend Camron on the other and I felt completely stuck while Chase nonchalantly walked by with a short hello. Hundreds of thoughts ran through my head and I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and remembered that the man wasn’t mine and pushed him to the back of my mind. While waiting for the car to take us to Galveston I got a call that made my heart drop, it was Chase. I answered with an unbothered voice applying a facade of confidence and strength. His voice was filled with disappointment and anger, I became defensive and told him that I was just celebrating a birthday with my friends. Chase wasn’t moved, his mind was so set on me being disloyal and dishonest. I didn’t know what to do, at that moment I had two thoughts run through my head. Go see Chase and fix what he had thought he had seen. Or ignore him and have a nice night with my
A year ago, a decided to visit a couple of old friends back in Orlando, Florida. This was supposed to be a fairly innocent trip, but with no parents to guide me in the right direction, it was obvious that things were about to get interesting.
(Jane/ Danny) is a (Hispanic/Black/white) (mother/father) of a 9 year old girl, a 6 year old boy, and a 3 year old boy. One night after (Jane/Danny) had put the children to bed, (his/her) friend (Mandy/Jake) called and invited (Jane/Danny) to come to the bar and have a few drinks since they had not seen each other in a month. Since (Jane/Danny) had just put the children to bed for the night, (he/she) decided that it wouldn’t hurt to go out with (Mandy/Jake) since the kids would be asleep the whole time, and it had been a very long time since they had spent time together. After (Jane/Danny) and (Mandy/Jake) caught up over a few drinks for a few hours, they decided that it was getting late and that they needed to get home. Upon opening the door
This was crazy, one minute I'm working at Hot Topic, the next I'm dancing with Dan Howell at a warehouse party. I could tell I was getting really drunk and I knew Dan was too, so I didn't know what was going to happen but I decided I would let fate handle it. We were both so drunk and crazy just having a good time dancing then I remember staring into his melting chocolate brown eyes, leaning in, and pressing my lips against his. He tasted like alcohol, but so did I. His lips were soft and felt good pressed against mine, but it got so heated so quick and next thing I know I'm pressed against the wall (not that I'm complaining) making out with Dan Howell. I broke away from him to take a breathe and saw Carissa chasing after Phil, who looked
So the story has to do with me my dad and some beignets in New Orleans also a drunk guy. Alright the story begin at the end of the school year last year. My parents to me and my sister took us on a two week vacation. Where we went from New Orleans for a four days, to Anna Maria for a day then to the Keys for three(more like 1 ¾ ish because of a storm) and then back up to Anna Maria for the rest of it. When we got to New Orleans it was late and we got to our hotel and slept.
So we went to great wolf lodge, we are driving and I tried to take a nap and all I heard was two of my friends just laughing because they were watching vines. So I told them to shut up and went back to sleep. I slept for one hour and someone called me on the bus floor, and were just talking until we arrived at Great Wolf Lodge. We got of the bus, grabbed our bags and headed in, then we went to separate rooms.
When I matriculated to Oregon State University, I realized how alone I really was, and that my popularity had meant nothing because I had no true connections with people in high school. I did not know how to work for anything because everything seemed to be handed to me. Finally my sophomore year of college, I met Harper, who immediately fit perfectly into my life. I’d never been that close to someone before, we did everything together. As I sat on the bus thinking about her my stomach began to contract violently and I masticated on one of my apple slices to try to calm it. Senior year Harper and I had decided to go to a big party for Halloween in Portland. Half way through the night Harper came up to me crying and insisted for me to drive her home, refusing to tell me why. I agreed because the party wasn’t that great anyway, but we got in a huge fight over why she wasn’t being honest with me or telling me what had happened. I had turned my head to look at her just for a moment, her red hair cascading around her shoulders, her eyes filled with
I was moving towards bigger and better things at that point in my life and to me it didn’t matter if I got to know him or not I still did not approve of him because he was doing drugs with her while she was trying to get her daughter back. Elizabeth then got out of my car and run down the street. So I would get out of the car and calm her down. I would talk her into getting back into the car so that we could head home because that was my friend and I didn’t want to leave her stranded an hour away from home, drunk, at 0230. Elizabeth did this three or four times. The night then turned violent when Elizabeth was in my car she started to hit my car and literally just throw a temper tantrum. She was screaming, crying, punching the door, and kicking the glove box. I got out and went to the passenger side and sat on the edge of the seat next to her to try and calm her down. Considering I had calmed her down a few times before I did not think I would have trouble calming her again. Elizabeth continued to scream at me and then began punching me. After about 15 hits I took and grabbed her arms and held them in place over her chest. I asked her to not hit me again, that hitting me was not okay, and unnecessary. Elizabeth then moved and hit me again so I did punch her back. I hit her
Many nights during summer vacation and holidays are spent visiting with friends at my friend, Austin Tynes’ house. On this single night of spring break, my fear would rise through the roof. A group of ten people was visiting at Austin’s house, and the group gathering was getting rather boring. It was hot and humid outside because of the early Louisiana Spring time
When March 5th finally arrived we had a lot of preparations to tend to. We were pretty sure the Mack’s would leave at night, they told Alex they had a family birthday party to go to. Unlike past Fight Nights no invitations were sent out, everyone was invited. We posted Alex’s address on all forms of social media that morning. I then went to Alex’s in the middle of the afternoon to help him set up for the night. We moved couches, and set up the basement for optimal viewing. Now all we had to do was wait for the Macks to leave. We hung around the house for the rest of the day but right around dinner time I left to make it less obvious and met Katie Peters and Hannah Bouas at subway for dinner. Alex was going to call me whenever his parents left
Early morning towards the end of June last year, it was family rodeo back home where my mom grew up at. We had always gone back to that town and that rodeo since i was a yee young lad, around 5 or 6. We used to go see my grandma, but she died when i was 10. Anyways, it was my mother, my brothers, sister and her family, me and my girlfriend. Well, the car we were suppose to drive 5 hours north with was very cramped for all of us, so i asked my girlfriend if we could borrow her new car she just bought the day before. She “talked” to her mom and her mom said “yes,” so her and I drove in that car while my brother and mom and their friend drove the other.
A week before this crazy night there was a party on main st in orange nj , everyone was talking about it. Full excitement going through my body while I’m getting dressed and waiting for my friends, which felt like time was constantly going in slow- mo. I was very inpatient couldn't wait even a second to get in the party enjoy myself , I haven't had fun in a long time. Finally a car engine and loud music parked in front of my house having a feeling that's them , a big smile came across my face when
October 20, 2007. A date that will be engraved into my head forever. I grew up in what I believe to be a perfect town, Lakeville, MN. It was close to the cities but far enough to grow farm fields. I grew up with two older brothers, Andrew and Derek. We lived in a safe neighborhood where everyone knew each other and if our mom wanted us home all she would have to do is scream our name out the front door and we would come running. Andrew was always the one who had to watch over and babysit me on nights that our mom was out of town. We have always had that inseparable brother, sister bond. Andrew is 11 years older than me so when it was time for him to move out and get a place of his own, I was so sad. He ended up moving only about two miles away, making it easy to still hang out with him all the time. I always looked forward to spending the night at his apartment because I was able to stay up past my bedtime. This night started off like any other Saturday night we ordered food, carved pumpkins, and watched a movie. It was going on eleven o’clock and we both were getting tired so we decide to head upstairs to our own beds. I was sound asleep when I woke up from a bunch of noise and people yelling. I was confused and didn’t know what was going on. My door to my room swung open and the next thing I knew I was painfully getting drugged down the stair by a man I’ve never met before. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the look of my brother’s face, I could tell he was scared. With a gun
