Many people buy hybrid cars because they have been told that hybrids are much more eco-friendly than any other vehicles out on the market and they feel proud for supporting the Mother Nature. Two motors in a vehicle have some strength and weaknesses. During idle the electric motor use no energy, they turn off. When at low speeds the battery motor uses less gas than a standard gas motor. Gas motors are much better at faster speeds due to the power it can give out and how heavy gas motors are. People enjoy a speedy and powerful feel while driving, so when the car speeds above 40 MPH the gas motor kicks in. The gas motor in the hybrids charge the electric motors.
