Persuasive Writing Research Topic Some countries have already banned hunting. These include Botswana and Costa Rica. Still, two out of 196 countries is not enough to help save animals. Banning hunting is an activity that needs to occur all over the world. Hunting should be made illegal worldwide due to the negative influence it impacts on children, its use as a sport and hobby, and the extinction of species it causes. Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting: Don’t take children hunting. Hunting should be banned now that it provides a negative influence on children by affecting their own lives. “In addition, the Associated Press reported that an Illinois man accidentally shot an arrow through the chest of a teenager.” (Committee to Abolish Sport Hunting). This is an exemplar of how menacing this sport (hunting) can be when children are present. Also, putting a weapon full of power on a child’s hands is something that will surely bring disastrous consequences. Heartening children to be

Buzzle: Hunting Pros and Cons. Last but never least, sport hunting should be banned due to the fact that it causes the endanger and extinction of animal species. “One glaring negative of hunting for sport is over hunting. This occurs when hunters kill too many of a species, threatening their survival.” (Life123). Species become endangered when they are over hunted, and if hunters take it too far, the species will no longer exist. “…there are many animals that have been over-hunted and brought to near extinction, one example being the American Buffalo. Another example was the over-killing of the Cougar. Although this animal was hunted to protect cattle from being attacked, it led to this species nearly becoming extinct.” (Buzzle) The substandard thing about species becoming extinct is that they might not reappear until millions of years later. Imagine how long that would
In America, deer are an animal hunted widely throughout our country. Each winter citizens have mixed emotions about the sport. Some say its barbaric and cruel, while others argue that it’s beneficial and useful. Although people may say hunting is cruel and barbaric, have they ever thought about the upsides to be gained from hunting? While this is a topic that can be argued viciously back and forth, I believe hunters win the argument. Deer hunting keeps the population down, protects farmers’ crops, boosts economic sales, betters a person’s mental health, and teaches lifelong lessons on respect. These are just a few of the amazing benefits that can be gained from hunting.
Many people consider hunting dangerous. This is not necessarily correct. Before any person is legally allowed to hunt in most states, they must undergo a required
Guns are used for protection, power, and sporting purposes. Guns are beneficial to society when used by trained professionals, such as the police and military. When in untrained hands, however, guns can cause death to friends, neighbors, family members and children. Due to their small size, weight and concealability, handguns pose some of the greatest risks to the public, ranging from accidental death in the home to mass shootings in public places. Consequently, private ownership of handguns should be banned by the US government due to their irresponsible use in murders and accidental deaths, the increased dangers to others caused by their concealability, and the availability of alternative, non-lethal self-defense weapons.
There are hunters all over the world that use the sport as more than just enjoyment and a goal to get a trophy. Over 200 million animals are killed every year from hunting for the purpose of food and land protection. Farmers who grow corn and vegetables need to kill animals that eat the precious
Hunting has become a staple of American traditions since the beginning of the first hunter/gatherers, to the Native Americans who have lived in the U.S for millennia, even all the way until present day. Much of today’s society looks at hunting as a cruel activity when in reality it has more of a positive effect on the environment than it does harm. There are an abundance of benefits that come from hunting. Some of the benefits of hunting are: it is the biggest contribution to conserving wildlife, the meat is healthier than commercially produced meat, many jobs are being supported out of hunting, and every hunter wants “to bag” the trophy animal; however, there are a few cons to this, which include poaching and interference by the activist
Anybody feel like voluntarily waking up at the crack of dawn just to sit in the middle of the woods in a blind and probably see nothing for hours on end? Wait, what if I add that it’ll be in the middle of winter so the temperature will not only be freezing, but you’ll also have a frost bite approved wind slapping at your face? No takers? I figured that would be the response. You’d be surprised though, because when I was around five or six years old freezing temperatures and being stranded in the woods sounded like paradise, especially with my best friend, my Dad, was right there with me.
According to Statisticbrain, The total number of people over the age of 16 that hunt annually is over 12.6 million. Families used to hunt to feed themselves, and even younger children were taught to hunt to help contribute to their family’s survival. Over the years it has changed but the tradition of hunting together is still passed down from one generation to another. While hunting for meat is no longer a necessity, wild game is still much better for you and healthier than meat bought in a grocery store. Hunting also requires a person to take a class in Hunter Safety before they can legally hunt, where firearm safety and shooting skills are taught. Hunting as a family is a bonding experience where time is spent outside together instead of indoors sitting down watching television or playing video games. There is a saying that goes “Take your kids hunting and you won’t have to hunt for your kids” - kids who are involved with their families more and spend time doing things they enjoy together are much less likely to get in trouble. People who grow up learning how to handle guns safely and respect firearms are much less likely to use one irresponsibly.
Hunting is a sport that men and women around the world have enjoyed for centuries. However, today there is so much controversy over whether it is ethical or beneficial for animals to be hunted. People who do not support hunting are not aware of the benefits it offers for not only the hunter, but also the animal population. There are hunting seasons, specific types of guns the hunters can use, the time sportsmen can hunt, and many other rules that keep sportsmen from hunting unfairly or overhunting. Sportsmen must buy license and tags to hunt legally, which keeps many people from hunting. The people who go against these regulations face heavy fines and in some cases, jail time. People who do not support hunting probably are not aware that because
It is early in the morning; the majestic Elk bugles in the distance. The sun is kissing the tops of the peaks with the most beautiful gold, and painting the clouds rose red. The men and women who enjoy the outdoors whether it is hunting or just hiking help make these types of moments possible. Hunting and the ecosystem is tied closely to conservation of land and animals. The articles of “Hunting and the ecosystem” written by the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Department (SDGFP), and “Facts and statistics on wildlife conservation” written by Roger Holmes, director of the Fish and Wildlife, touch on how hunting is important in the environment to keep a good balance in the ecosystem. They also point out how hunters do more than any other
Hunting is the practice of pursuing wildlife in order to kill it. Individuals who hunt do so for a variety of reasons while wildlife activists oppose hunters’ views and practices. Many people in rural areas of the United States hunt in order to harvest lean, organic, healthy meat for personal consumption. Some individuals hunt because it is tradition and a significant part of their heritage. Others choose to hunt as a means to escape the ins and outs of a chaotic society while taking in the serenity of the great outdoors in a therapeutic manner. Some hunters enjoy hunting for the thrill and the challenge of the chase. Other reasons people hunt include trophy hunting, travel to exotic locations, spending quality time with family and friends, and wildlife conservation. Individuals who are against hunting typically argue that hunting is inhumane and is considered cruelty to animals. Due to the benefits of properly managed ethical hunting, hunting should be legal within the United States.
I believe that Hunting should stay legal because you can get a fresh and healthy product, Less people will be poor because they are saving tons of money by not going to the store to buy meat, and it’s a fun thing to do with your free time.
In a civilized and cultivated country, wild animals only continue to exist at all when preserved by sportsmen”("MARC FOLCO: Some hunting, fishing quotes to live by"). Hunters are the leading source for all conservation programs. Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most passionate hunters. People put down hunting like it’s a bad thing. Many hunters contribute billions of dollars the the economy. Hunting should not be banned because of the positive impacts it has on society.
I watched this video in gun safety class, and the kid was shot by his best friend. The both of them were only 16 when this happened. They were hunting together, the both of them were hunting for squirrels it was winter outside when this happened. And the 16 year old bleed out right in front of his best friend before the ambulance could get to there. There are stories happening like this all the time and people are going out there with a weapon to kill for pleasure or to kill for recreational uses and that is simply not right. I believe that hunting should be illegal because. Of tragic accidents and wasted meat.
There are many issues and topics that americans disagree about. One of these recent topics is hunting. Hunting is the activity of pursuing wild animals or game, for food or sport. This is a recent issue because some believe this activity is wrong and they do not agree with people using guns to harvest wild animals. These people are called “anti-hunters”. These anti-hunters see hunting as people going out in the wilderness and killing helpless and defenseless animals. On the other end of the spectrum we have the hunters. These people think that hunting is okay and that it in fact actually helps both humans and animals. Hunters want to continue this passion of theirs and do not want it to go away. There are two sides to this argument. One being
Everyday thousands of animals are brutally murdered by people that participate in the recreational activity that is hunting. Hunting is an activity that involves a person attempting to kill or trap an animal. Hunting is mainly done to animals in the wildlife and often in cases are used for food, clothing, recreation or trade. In my opinion hunting is morally wrong.
