Congratulations to Ron Barbian, Rich Busalacchi, Tom Slota and Melanie Kuzmanovic on a well-earned election or re-election. Please enjoy the positive affirmation our community gave you on April 5 in our nonpartisan races. I give you credit for stepping up to do this hard work and for taking the heat and tough criticism that often comes with elected office in our Village. Likely you — and your opponents — said some unfair or unkind things about each other. It is highly likely some your friends and staunchest supporters said some fairly nasty things in your behalf as well. If you haven’t done so already, you might want to send your opponents a personal note of regret for that, and appreciation for their sacrifice and willingness to step up too. …show more content…
We must now all find a way to work and come together.” That is a noble sentiment. In reality, you need look no further than the comments sections of Everything Greendale and the GreendaleNOW to witness just a tiny sliver of the mean-spiritedness expressed on all sides before — and after — Tuesday’s election. For example, in an early morning text the day after the election, school board insider and serial anonymous commenter, Jason Patzfahl assaulted my my iPhone with the Donald Trump treatment — unsolicited — and out of the blue. “Hey Billy, looks like all your right wing candidates lost yesterday…tea bagger Genz, out! Home-schooler Grogan, last place. Historical Society tool Kewan ousted! Times are changing and the parents are speaking. Your blog is so slanted it’s not even funny. It’s the Fox News of Greendale,” texted Patzfahl. As is his wont, he then went on to make some inappropriate ad hominem attacks against my family. Typically, I ignore his foolishness. In truth, I’ve heard from all sides who thought Everything Greendale’s election coverage was biased against them or their favored candidate. That usually means I am doing my
On February 17, Chairman of the NC Democratic Party joined host Bram Sarkowski on his online blog show (63:27), “The Social Spitball,” and went on what amounts to a tirade against some of his party members.
With his character being so publicly displayed, I am asking that you distance yourself from his candidacy.
, still furious about the debate, and wrote “What’s the Matter with Kansas?”: an article that viciously mocked Bryan and the Democrats.
Today and for the past several years, I’m hammered by the liberals in my school for being a conservative. I stay positive because you inspire me. You inspire me to voice my opinion. You said it, “It's impossible to go through life not offending people. All you have to do is basically have an opinion on anything, and you're gonna offend people.” You keep me informed and you help me on how to respond to liberals who are need of the truth. You help me communicate and articulate my conservative views in a respectful thought provoking way that diminishes the bashing I receive from my colleagues. To quote you, “I have to tell you, every day is a roller coaster.” Once upon a time, when we had two incomes, I subscribed to the Limbaugh Letter which further enabled me to articulate my views – thank you for taking time to do your show and your letter.

I would like to thank you for representing the state of Iowa for 14 years. Thank you for your time. You have done such a great job representing Iowa’s fourth congressional district. You served in the Iowa state senate for six years and have made changes for us to make Iowa a better place to live.
Is that true in your case?” Gerson answered, “ I am voting for Donald trump mainly because of the corrupt history and background of the Clinton family. Trump may not be the best choice at this point in my opinion, but he is great compared to her”. The next question i asked was, “ Do you think all of the outlandish this donald trump has said he would do will actually happen?”. He answered, “ i believe it is virtually impossible for him to deport 12 million illegal aliens, as well as having the muslim ban go through. But i do think he is better suited to handle isis and he has the ability to construct a wall”. My next question to the trump supporter was, “What do you think about the allegations that have been directed towards Trump about him being sexist, racist, and ignorant and do you think this will carry into his presidency if he wins”. His answer was, “ I think trump is an idiot, but at least he isn't a criminal and that will carry on into his presidency”. My last question was, “forget all the allegations and scandals about both candidates
"We hear a lot about negative and division and polarization," Kasich said. "Let me tell you. I’ve never been more satisfied professionally. We left the race abruptly. And the reason why we did is that I became convinced, that in one way or another, to go forward I would have to tell people things that I didn’t think were true."
Thank you, thank you! Thank you Joe, and thank you Massachusetts for the great honor of serving as your senator. Thank you guys! What a night. Wow. Michelle Obama, Cory Booker. And we still have Bernie coming up. Bernie reminds us what Democrats fight for every day. Thank you, Bernie. Thank you.
Thank you for asking. I'd say that it's up to you to vote for who you believe is best fit for the position. That said, my vote is with Sue Frost! She's put a tremendous amount of time and energy into the process already and is heavily involved. Respectfully, Kerri Howell is the only candidate I absolutely would not vote for due in part because of her childish behavior during the 2014 elections, & partnered with her support by the Chambers BizPAC and the special interest money. She's become a puppet for outside influences, fighting to keep the status quo and doesn't have our community at heart.
Veterans I am going to have thank you for not only what you have done, but what risk you took kNowing that you could have died on the battlefield when serving for your country and because of the things you have done has given America the right to vote for what you want and when you know that you have
I would first off like to thank you for this incredible opportunity. I know that you and your staff are committed to finding the best possible outcomes for the citizens of this great state and am honored that my suggestions could be considered.
My fellow Liberians, let me start off by giving a noteworthy thank you to everyone who has gotten the voter's selection card. Now, get ready for a huge change in October this year.
Running for elected office is a daunting task, for every candidate. Criticism is a huge part of the job. Hearing your perspective “flaws” from residents you’re fighting to represent is a humbling experience & not for the faint hearted. Reading something negative about you, is like taking a punch in the throat. However, it can be an amazing tool to learn from, no matter how painful. Being uncomfortable is good.
During the month of October and the first week of November 2017, I volunteered for the Nancy Rossi for mayor campaign. While working immensely to help Rossi become the first female mayor of West Haven, I completed a total of 36 hours. At the campaign headquarters, I made calls to citizens of the West Haven, trying to secure their votes for Rossi. This was not my favorite task as a handful of the people I called opted to be odious, or as a result of my accent, could not understand what I was saying. For the majority of the time that I spent working on the campaign, I walked to the houses of registered democrats in West Haven, delivering Rossi’s platform and literature about her team. On a few occasions, some people immediately told us not
