Thomas Jefferson changed America in many ways back in the day. A lot of people consider him a great president and he’s famous for many issues he solved. One of the most famous things Thomas Jefferson is remembered for is writing the entire Declaration of Independence, a document that changed America because it was the start of freedom. It even has words of his own that aren’t revised like, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." More things he supported was the French Revolution and slavery. He owned many slaves of his own and thought whites were superior to blacks. Thomas also wrote the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom that stated there would be freedom of religion and separation of churches throughout the country. He was the third child in the family and grew up with six sisters and one brother. Two other brothers died in infancy. Thomas Jefferson - a member of the House of Burgesses, wrote the Declaration of Independence, was ambassador to France, and was the President of the United States of America. He did all these things before, during, and after the Revolutionary war. With his Declaration of Independence he declared the colonies' freedom from England. While President, he bought the Louisiana Purchase and had Lewis and Clark to explore it.
Jefferson also served the American Union for over 50 years. While he was in office, he wrote the Declaration of Independence, which really boosted his reputation.
