How life changed in the 1750s to 1900s There were many important changes in people’s lives. Some of the important changes were things like houses to things like public health. Many improvement and events happened which effected our life today. Some of these changes had a big impact on the way people lived. For example in 1750 my graph shows life was a very lonely place with only a population of 1.1 million people in Britain also with only a few schools to provide education. They weren’t very aware that germs spread so lots of diseases were around at that time. With just a simple life at home they had most grown food but that was alright with 80% of Britain’s populations worked on farms providing meat and veg to the people. Slow travel was an issue to the people who could afford it. Because of the low amount of children being taught this had an effect on the voting because most were rich men so they have a say in things but this was only 5% of the Britain’s people. But without an education it’s going to be tough to find a job but if you learn than your most likely to get a well-paid job and to vote as you will get older. …show more content…
Travel was a lot faster with only 6 hours from London to Manchester. But there was more people voting because of the massive increase in the population from only 1.1 million in 1700s it grew by massively up to 20 million. Also life at home was more enjoyable with larger amounts of space but more crowded. With the public crowds becoming larger vaccines for some diseases were being cured like small pox, this was a cause for a larger population. But at this time most middle and upper class boys went to school so they could probably vote when they are old enough. But there was decreases of the workers on farmers down to 60 % so a decrease of 20% over 100
The 1920’s was a great and important decade for the United States. After World War I, the United States went through events and changes that, overall, made the United States a much better place to live. New advances in technology and industry improved American life in more ways than just one. Americans had better wages during this time, more leisure time, and overall, had a better life than ever before. In addition, the 1920’s advocated social and cultural change as well. During this time period, the United States did not return to Normalcy, and instead developed attitudes that changed the life of the people of the United States forever thanks to social changes, cultural changes and changes in technology.
There was little change in the population to ownership of upper class. The main change for the middle class was large increase in the number of working people due to welfare standard and the growth of modern industry. The British people socially and economically were at an asset right after the war which resulted in the post-war boom. The depression led population suffered by decrease because of poor health. The war had influenced British society, economics and politics which led to the decline of the British
During the early 19th century, especially before the American Revolution and after the War of 1812, American society changed greatly. It became a nation consisting of two distinct and very different regions: the North and the South. Both regions differ greatly in their economic, social, and political structure causing a drift between the two regions. The drift continues to widen into the 1800s until the disparities leads up to the start of the Civil War in 1861. It was a war that raged across the nation from 1861 to 1865 which became a violent conclusion to the decades of diverse ideas and culture between the two regions.
The Roaring Twenties were a time of great change economically, socially and politically. The American culture was "roaring" in terms of style and social trends, but also the economy was "roaring" as well. The 1920s made a huge impact on the world. There were many ways in which society has changed during the 1920s. Three ways in which society has changed in this time would be the booming economy, entertainment, and prohibition.
In the 1800’s in England, things were changing due to the Industrial Revolution. Before the Industrial Revolution, everyone was making everything in their homes. Everyone had to make and grow their own food and necessities with their own labor so it was slow. During the Industrial Revolution, new machines were being created. This increased the speed at which farming was done. Factories were also being built. The factories and new machines helped with mass production. People also lost jobs on the farms which meant many people were moving to the cities, which caused the cities to grow and become overpopulated. One reason why the Industrial Revolution was a negative occurrence in the world was the living conditions. The cities were overpopulated becoming polluted very easily. Another reason why the Industrial Revolution was a negative occurrence was the working conditions the workers had. The last negative occurrence was the people's health especially the people who worked in the factories. The Industrial
There were many changes in the 1800’s when it came to politics. Changes were needed especially since the New World finally had their freedom. People had to change to be able to go along with the needed political changes that were put upon them by their new government. Some would say this was a better way of life for the people, and the reasons for the changes was to create a better way of life for everyone financially so their family would be taken care of.
Probably one of the most noteworthy changes to Colonial British America during the 1700’s is the increase and diversity in population. According to the text book, in 1700 the population was fewer than 300,000 and about 6.7 percent of said population was African American. However, by 1775 the number rose to about 2.5 million where the black man nearly equaled the white man in number. In addition to these new numbers of whites and blacks, Germans seeking religious freedom, and fleeing from economic oppression and the ravages of war, constituted about 6 percent (150,000) of the 2.5 million.
There were many inventions created to make life a lot easier, the main inventions were the steam engine. The steam engine was used in many industrial settings but mainly for mining. Another great invention was the cotton gin which is a machine which separates cotton fibers rom their seeds. This helped in making many cotton goods such as clothing during the industrial revolution. As well as inventions transport was improved and brought in. The improvement of living standards and education were raised very high. All children must now get a basic education and were all forced to take part in schooling. Working conditions improved majorly with safety. The working conditions for people during this time were now safer and more enjoyable. Hygiene improved rapidly as sewer systems improved during time. Soon after time better food and diet was found as there was a big change in the food produced as well as farming and crops. Many people discovered better medicine which helped with both children and adults’ health which meant better living. Even though the medicine back in the industrial revolution is limited compared to the medicine in our world today, the medicine they had helped in many ways and
The early decades of the 1800’s fostered significant political changes (Schultz, 2009). The American politics were becoming more democratic, which resulted in historians referring to this part of history as the “the era of the common man.” The political changes of the early 1800’s were significantly impacted by the following four reasons: economic booms and busts, expansion of vote, presidential election of 1824, and the second two-party system.
Life Changes of Americans in the 1920's In the 1920's many American lives were improved greatly, but some lives were as bad as they had been before. The economy was booming, with cars being mass produced, and many other consumer goods such as radios, were widely available. Also more jobs became available, and many people recieved a par rise. However there were bad things such as racism about.
The world we know today is constantly changing. In just 90 years a lot of things have changed drastically. 90 years ago the invention of the car was still pretty new but now it's become apart of everyday technology, along with our phones everything has changed. There are some things that have stayed the same. A couple things that have stayed the same over all that time is women's role in society and something that had just started then but still works just the same are movies. They are a lot more ways that you could compare the 1920’s to Today but I'm going to talk about these two, so let's get into it.
From around 1750 to 1900 Britain went through major changes or transformation in industry, agriculture and transportation that affected everybody’s lives. For some it generally improved their lives, however not all were so lucky. The industrial revolution brought with it many changes good for some and bad for others.
During this time the rise of railroads was coming to power due the new invention of the steam engine which made the locomotive efficient. This allowed the spread of railroads to be built all around the country to make transportation easier and faster, this allowed people to move products from the factories from point A to point B easier and faster which made things more efficient. With all the railroads being built it helped the general public because
Three ways society changed in the 1920’s are through culture, economy, and social norms like fashion and women's rights. The 1920’s was a time of change. The United States had just won the war and after the war the United States just wanted to “return to normalcy”. But nothing was normal after the war; the 1920s was a time where the United States was at a peak prosperity. But this can be countered with organized gang violence, increased rate of murder, and countless robberies. Even though prosperity in the 1920s can be counter argued. Overall the 1920s was a time of change; a time for a change in culture, for a change in the economy, and for a change in social norms.
Everyday life in the United States is very different today than it was in the 1700's. Life was harder and the settlers did not have nearly as many luxuries as society has today. Some aspects of the colonial times that were different then are today include family, employment, and social activities. Life in the United States in the 1700's was filled with hard work, cooperation, and dedication to one’s land and family.
