The purpose of this essay is to compare the greek character Timmy to myself. In this document I’m going to go over three important topics that will help you get an understanding of why I think that we have some of the same things in routine. The first subject will be physical attributes, the second one will be the surroundings, and the final subject will be the similarities of our education.
In a lot of different ways me and Timmy have some similarities, as well as some differences. One way that we were similiar is we are both youthful and energetic. A couple more ways we are alike is we both were very social. Timmy and I like to talk to a lot of different people and were very active that way. Also towards the closing of the play Timmy gets upset at his father and loses his temper, and lets his fury get the best of him. Me on the other hand do not lose my temper very often. Another way that we are identical is since I am the eldest son in my family, I have a lot of responsibility. For example since Richard is the antecedent of Timmy, that means that he is the next in line for the throne so therefore he has a lot of responsibilities as well.

Timmy lived in the castle, now I am sure but outside of the city there a lot of plants and animals that he was surrounded by. I am also surrounded by nature I don't exactly live in a castle but in all directions around my house there are fields and trees and animals all around. Also towards the end of the play Timmy gets upset at his father and loses his temper. Me on the other hand do not lose my temper very often. Another way that we are alike is since I am the eldest son in my family, I have a lot of responsibility, and since Richard is the father and king Timmy is the next in line for the throne so therefore he has a lot of responsibilities as
Most people think of a hero as a strong, superior, good-looking person that could never make a mistake. However, in a story called The Odyssey, a connection to real life reveals imperfections to be common in heroes. Each person has their low points and highlights, regardless of their “rank”. The author and epic poet, Homer, exemplifies our main character, Odysseus, to take on this idea of a hero throughout his writing. The time period took place in Ancient Greece, allowing Greek culture to relate to the poem. Different aspects of such culture and history may have influenced the works and creativity of Homer as well. A major point includes The Trojan War because it focuses in on Odysseus’ journey to bring Helen back home by devising a plan to destroy warriors in the city. Acknowledge this factor when reading The Odyssey, for not only evidence of heroism, but also other major points of archetypes, in which the device reflects the insights of readers in modern time and what is seen from Ancient Greek culture.
A person that I am very similar to is Brittney Griner. We have many things in common including our love for the game of basketball. The things we both love about basketball are, it tends to get us in shape in less time than working out for 10 minutes a day. Next, it lets us get out some of the frustration we have built up in us and last we both always have trouble figuring out what to wear on game days. So, I think that Brittney Griner and I are alike because, we love basketball, we both have anger issues we need to control, and have trouble figuring out what to wear on game days.
The Odyssey written by Homer highlights the character development of Odysseus, the epic hero, in his journey of self-discovery. Odysseus is accredited with many strong traits including his nobility, smarts, and bravery. Having one tragic flaw, being his arrogance, was put to the test throughout his heroic journey. Homer stripped the protagonist of his arrogance as the story goes on, by giving him many challenges, giving dire consequences for his mistakes, and allowing him to continue to overcome obstacles. The main purpose of Odysseus’ journey was to reach his home as a humbled man. The hero’s journey can be used as a way to look at life’s morals. The reader is able to see the protagonist continue to make mistakes, because of his arrogance and continue to be punished by the gods. Once he overcame this, he is greatly awarded with the security of his home. This essay will analyze the arrogance of Odysseus along with his extraordinary traits, the molding of his identity, and his new found lesson of humility.
Calvin Jarrett from Ordinary People and Henry Drummond from Inherit the Wind both possess qualities that are similar to my own. These characters have traits that are the most similar to me. Calvin and I both share the fact that we are devoted with our families and honest with others. Drummond and I are both compassionate with others and we are both intelligent. Unlike Calvin, I do not have a serious issue with a family member and when it comes to Henry Drummond, I am not very crafty or sly.
The first similarity that I recognized between us was the fact that we are both outgoing, and aren’t afraid to start a conversation with someone that we don’t know. On page 8, it explains, “He saw me looking at his arm and slightly patted the hard plaster of his cast. ‘Fell out of a tree. Never trust a dead branch.’ He nodded at me.
Heroes today are courageous, noble, great leaders, and daring. Ulysses holds all these virtues, along with being clever. Heroes in ancient Greece are greatly looked up upon for their bravery, cleverness, and their will for sacrificing themselves for the greater good of their men. However, not all heroes are perfect. Heroes in ancient Greece show hubris, which penalizes them because the gods do not condone vanity. In addition, to the qualities of bravery, courage, nobility, and leadership, in Bernard Evlin’s take on The Odyssey, The Adventures of Ulysses, he indicates that cleverness can be more important than other characteristics.
Most Americans often compare themselves with characters from their favorite movie or book. In fact, some people may even visualize themselves as their favorite character when they are watching a movie or reading a book. I relate most with the movie character Tip from the animated movie Home. Tip is very similar to me because she loves traveling and sight-seeing, she adores her pets, and she would do anything for her mom.
Some of the ways they were alike would include that the towns were both happy before the mysterious things happen. More ways could be that the towns were both small, and quiet. But some of the characters were alike, like Steve and Andy and Charlie and Barney. Steve and Andy are alike because they both tried to keep the
The purpose of the paper is to compare and contrast the characters of Penelope in the epic, The Odyssey, Lysistrata in the comedy, Lysistrata, and Medea in the tragedy, Medea. The writer will first give a brief synopsis of each character, followed by a comparison and climaxing with the contrast.
Many books of literature, no matter what time period they were written or who the author is, have many similarities. The books The Iliad and Bhagavad Gita are great examples of this. These two books consist of many of the same themes and characteristics within the readings that cause them to relate to each other. On the other hand, they also have some characteristics that contradict themselves in different ways. In the book The Iliad the author Homer, explains a story revolving around a Greek hero named Achilles. Both stories have two main characters, Achilles and Arjuna, which really have many of the same characteristics within them. Both Achilles from The Iliad and Arjuna from Bhagavad Gita have many similar aspects about themselves and what's expected of them in their daily life. The main theme characteristics that I’m going to discuss in this essay is what duty each character plays in their culture or what role they are expected to take on. I’m also going to compare War between the two stories. Both readings have many similar views under these topics but also have some differences within them. In this essay, I will be explaining the characteristics that are similar in both stories along with the characteristics that contradict in the pieces.
Although the Athenian lovers and the craftsmen are similar in some of the actions they take and the thoughts that they have, they are different in the way they speak, act, and feel. In this essay, I will be comparing the two groups. Firstly, I will explain why these two groups are similar. One way they are alike is shown in their actions.
In this paper I will analyze two characters in two separate works, one from a literary text and one from a film. The focus of this paper will be on heroes that have a relationship to an element of mythology. I will use the character Odysseus from Homer’s epic poem, “The Odyssey” and the character Wonder Woman from the American superhero film “Wonder Woman”. In this essay I will analyze the gender, appearance, actions, and roles that these heroes have. Throughout this essay, I will also discuss the negative characteristics that both these heroes have, such as their violent actions towards others. Heroes possess numerous qualities that make them great, however, there are certain qualities of a hero that are consistent throughout Greek mythology; bravery, intelligence, and strength. These qualities are significant to these two Greek Mythologies because these heroes are known to bravely risk their lives for others, using their wisdom to guide them, all while fighting strongly for what they believe in. This paper will serve to prove that regardless of the gender of each of these personas, the characteristics that define a hero remain consistent.
In the Iliad is a very interesting epic with features two main central characters that are similar in some ways but totally different in other ways. In this epic you will be introduced to Hector and Achilles. Two men from each side in the great Trojan-Greek war. They were both heroes to their people despite their clearly different contrast in their personalities. In this paper I will highlight the life of both of these two leaders of the Greek and Trojans in this epic the Iliad. Also a little will be shed of how Homer portrays the characters deeper then an average thought. I will attempt to show the complexity of his thought process in forming the climax of these two characters coming to battle.
It has been said that many siblings are very similar; However my sister and I are nothing alike we are actually very different. When two people have the same blood type and genotype is not insured that you will be exactly the same. Having same parents increases the chances of having the same genes though. All Siblings have various behaviors and personalities that make them dissimilar. Siblings have a genetic and physical closeness that connect them together. It is reasonable that not all sisters resemble each other. My sister and I are completely opposite.
The Iliad, by Homer, is an epic poem set in the era of the Trojan War, accounting the battle logs during the time of conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles, the text’s tragic protagonist. The heroic outlook on life, in Iliadic terms, is exemplified through the construction of one’s honor through hard work. Being an aspect of the heroic outlook of life, this value is demonstrated through his contribution and dedication to the Trojan War, his experience with neglect from the deities, Achilles’ overall disdain towards Agamemnon, and, lastly, his longingness towards Briseis, his dear lover.
