In the tragedy of “Julius Caesar”, Brutus is the tragic hero. He fits the description of a tragic hero for many reasons. A tragic hero is a literary who makes many poor decisions. They make error while judging a situation, ultimately leading up to their deaths. The reason tragic heroes suffer from death is because they have hamartias, or flaws, in their character or in what they feel is their fate. The tragic hero of “Julius Caesar” is not as obvious as they usually are in William Shakespeare's work. However, as you look closer at Brutus’s character, it becomes clear that he is the tragic hero. A tragic hero always has a flaw, or flaws, that contribute to their downfall. Brutus has many flaws. He was too trusting, and had very poor judgement.
