There are few things in this world that I hate more than having to create a research paper. I usually don 't get to choose the topic, I have to spend lots of time in the library, and I usually wait until the last minute, so the whole ordeal is worse than it should have been. Well, there are a few things I taught myself to do to keep my research papers flowing and much easier to organize and compile. These are the ideas that I use every single time for any type of sourced writing, including writing articles for Associated Content.
Create a notes file: This is the ultimate tool for my writing. When I have found a source for my paper I take it with me to the computer. While I 'm reading the portion of this book, or encyclopedia, or Internet article, I have a writing program open and I write down paragraphs and bullet points of the article in my own words, highlighting key concepts. This is separated by sources so when I 'm writing I can quickly put down sources, and after I use an article I create my insert for my bibliography. If you keep up with your bibliography notes, when it comes to make your works cited page, you 're already done!
Create headings for your notes: Give your notes from your notes file and copy and paste them into categories. Give each category a heading as to the general idea that groups them together. For example, on my paper in how the Nazi party controlled the people of Germany, I made a group called "Fear Factor." I put all my notes regarding fear in
The first chapter of the MLA Handbook covers the very professional and rather mechanical process of writing a research paper. It begins by identifying the different types of research and the important skills developed by creating these types of papers. It then dives into the actual process of writing, beginning with the selection of your topic and suggests that the subject matter should interest you throughout the entirety of the writing process. A major chunk of this chapter is dedicated to exploring different research methods and sources, making sure you are aware of all of the information that is available. It also stresses the importance of using credible sources and keeping track of which ones you’ve used, creating your working bibliography.

College helps people get a good job, prepares them for adult life, and will help them make more money.
Often remarked as “The Great American Novel”, Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn explores a variety of themes involving race, morality, and religion that tackle the problems he faced in his day. He criticizes religion and its dogma by showing how easily influenced some characters become and Huck’s denial of it to illustrate the hypocrisy and lack of unique search for moral truth for many of its followers. Twain further expands on this negative idea of lacking independent thought by showing examples of groups of people making unwise decisions causing harm to themselves or others because they cannot think for themselves and instead follow the majority around them. Finally, he uses scenes where a single character may make an unoriginal
The last writing project I did was an Argumentative. I choose to write and argue about the television and its effects on children. What the consequences are on playing violent/aggressive video games in young ages. Using credible sources and prove by evidence I could convince my reader about my opinion. In this paper I had to be fare and show both sides of the subject to give the reader a reliable opinion. The most important thing I learned was how to use all the sources and present them in the text. Using MLA format was something new and different for me. I realized the importance of presenting the sources in the correct format to keep the high credibility in my paper. I also understood that the MLA-format is very useful for paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting in my text.

The copiers for the Center Director’s staff were difficult to replace as they can’t go days without being able to print/copy/scan. The second challenge of replacing these copiers was that the new copiers were being removed from area where executives’ offices are located. I asked the vendor to send me their best team to deliver the machines. The vendor’s team was able to get the copiers out quickly and quietly. I put in the tickets for the copiers to be setup a week before each copier arrived, so that the tier II team could work with the systems and network teams to get the copier working within a week. The IT staff at my request made these tickets the highest priority. The Center Director’s staff had copiers that were outdated and had
You want to make sure you have an introduction, body, and then a conclusion. Using Rhetorical strategies will help you tremendously when writing the paper. The rhetorical strategies are narration, description, examples, process analysis, comparison and/or contrast, classification, cause and/or effect, and definition. Narration is telling a story and making sure that story grabs the reader's attention. Description is using your word choice to paint a mental picture for the reader. Examples are when the writer uses specific to make a point. Process analysis is when the writer explains how something is done. Comparison and/or contrast shows similarities and differences. Classification breaks things down into different parts. Cause and/or effect explores the reasons why something happened. Definition explains what something

Before attending GCU and using the sources that they provide, I normally would use resources and tools that were provided by various universities. Two notable examples that I would use where Purdue University's OWL and also Calvin College's KnightCite. OWL is a particularly helpful source since it offers a wide variety of articles regarding various topics that play a key role within successful writing. KnightCite was also a source I widely used because of the fact that it was a great way in order to get MLA (which I used in high school) citations for works used in my papers. However, nowadays I mainly use the sources provided by GCU such as the writing center which I have found to be quite helpful. In particular, I enjoy the templates provided
To write a good research paper, there is a need to be specific about the topic. The content in the topic must be specific, clear n short. The content should make an impact on the mind of the readers. Following are the ten steps which should be considered while writing a good research paper.
Quantitative and Qualitative are said to be systematic in different design. Both design have to follow a process system that involved defining a principle of research.
One of the ways I could do this by becoming more familiar with the library database. During my high school projects, we did not need to always use scholarly sources so I usually just did Google searches for my projects but in this class I had to use scholarly sources for some of my information which was good as I learned to navigate and sort in the library’s extensive database. I was also able to learn how to look at credibility. During high school I just used the first articles I could find that would help with my topic. I did not really give the credibility a second thought but in Composition 1 I learned to take the credibility of an author into account when using that source for my research. Lastly, I learned about doing academic research by doing pertinent research on my topic. Once again in high school I looked at research and thought it was good but I didn’t read it thoroughly and found that sometimes I did not get the information I needed for my project. In Composition 1 I learned this as I struggled to find some relevant items sometimes but overall I could gather the correct information for my projects. In my journalism project I was also able to join the academic “conversation” on the
