How Does Lady Macbeth Change Throughout The Play

Lady Macbeth destroys the typical idea of a passive and “feminine” leading female character of the times. She is a strong, ruthless, ambitious woman who does what she has to do to acquire what she wants. Although she eventually gets what she wants, her guilt consumes her and leads to her demise.

Absolute power is a perilous crown that bestows on people when they strive for ambition and like a leech it sucks them into a treacherous path, it inebriates their quench, it makes them malicious, and eventually, it corrupts them. The valiant Macbeth is a noble, courageous soldier who fought during a battle where his country Scotland needed him. He soon crosses paths with three witches which they prophesied his ascension to the throne. Blinded by his ambition, he turns to murder to secure his throne. Consequently, his actions soon affected his fate and his wife Lady Macbeth. Over the course of the play, power causes Lady Macbeth to change from ambitious to resentful which leads to her ultimate demise.

In the play Macbeth by Shakespeare, Lady Macbeth is the wife of a great warrior and thane (the governor's name over a district). Throughout the play, Lady Macbeth hears of a prophecy that says that Macbeth would be king. After this, she plots and helps execute a plan to kill the current ruler King Duncan so her husband can be king. However, later on she shows regret and remorse as she misses her old life when she could live in peace. Throughout the play, Lady Macbeth is driven by greed, shame, and guilt.

In The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth was the thane of Glamis And a general for Scotland Nobel brave warrior. At first he and his wife went through a lot of Changes in their personality because of the three witches. They went far from their comfort Zone, but in my opinion Macbeth changed more than Lady Macbeth.

William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, presents the highs and lows of a character who transitions from a noble warrior to a violent tyrant that seeks greed and power which ultimately leads him to his downfall, death. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is considered to be a man of great value and character. He shows this by not wanting anything in return for fighting for his country: “The service and loyalty I owe, in doing it pays itself” (1:4:22-23). He is loyal to King Duncan and proves his loyalty on the battlefield.

Macbeth is a famous and well known play created by the one and only Shakespeare in the Elizabethan times. The main character in this play is of course Macbeth, who goes from being a noble war-hero who is honoured by the king to being a worried murderer who cannot stop fretting about his situation: “to be thus is nothing, but to be safely thus…” He used to be a loyal, loving man who would never think of murdering but then suddenly hears what the witches say about his future. This causes him to slowly change into a greedy, murdering, ambitious man who would kill without a second thought. The change in Macbeth’s character proves that if you find out what your future is going to be then you actually end up changing it yourself as you know what you are going to become, even if it means you have to change who you really are to become someone you and everyone else knows your not.

Macbeth is a Shakespearean tragedy where the titular character, who was once a valiant nobleman, becomes greedy for power and kills the king to fulfill his goals. Throughout this we can see the major changes that Macbeth faces from his character roles, to his actions, and as well as his behavior. After having been given the prophecies by the witches, his decision to become powerful lead to his downfall. He started off as a loyal patron to the king, after receiving the prophecies from the witches, he became a conniving and treacherous man. Lastly, he did whatever he could to become king and eventually achieved the throne.

In William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, there are multitude of changes throughout the play within Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s wickedness. A metamorphosis takes place deep inside both characters; however, the changes oppose each other. The witches chant: “The weird sisters, hand in hand, posters of the sea and land, thus do go about, thrice to thine and thrice to mine and thrice again, to mine and thrice again, to make up nine. Peace! The charms wound up. (Act 1.2 Lines ) The witches pour prophecies into Macbeth giving him an insight of what is to come in his future as King of Scotland. Lady Macbeth receives the news from Macbeth cause her mind to flood with corruption on how to get rid of King Duncan; however, Macbeth is not cruel enough to kill

As the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare progresses Macbeth and Lady Macbeth both undergo a change in their personality. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is a noble soldier that is loyal to the King but is corrupted by the power he desires so greatly, the same power promised to him by the witches. In an analysis by Kevin Curran, titled:” Feeling criminal in Macbeth” Curran explains how the witches planted the seeds of corruption and paved the way to Macbeth’s downfall. Not only does Macbeth undergo a transformation but Lady Macbeth changes from being “the serpent under’t” to “th’ innocent flower” (Shakespeare 1.5.56-58).

Throughout history females were described as weak, emphatic, and nurturing humans who are incapable of doing evil acts. In William Shakespeare's play Macbeth, Lady Macbeth is not the stereotypical female. Lady Macbeth is one of the most powerful female in all of literature, she proves this throughout the play with her smart and devious plans. Lady Macbeth experiences many events in the play that contribute to her transformation of characteristics. Lady Macbeth is a manipulative, ambitious, and a remorseful woman.

My chosen character is Lady Macbeth. During this play Lady Macbeth is portrayed as women with ambition and violence giving her a masculine appearance. Macbeth not only from the way he thinks and speaks but from his actions too . he actually becomes paranoid . at the beginning he is a respected thane who has shown loyalty to the king , but soon after Macbeth fails to resist ambition and the encouragements of the prophecy and his wife , he murders the king to take his throne . this betrayal leads Macbeth into a state of guilt and fear , somehow persuading him o kill again and again to satisfy his paranoia .
