In this passage, Jesus was trying to explain to Nicodemus how to enter the kingdom of God. In essence, He explained to him how to be reborn in the Holy Spirit. He goes into detail because Nicodemus, being human, did not understand. Nicodemus thought Jesus was being literal when he said that Nicodemus needed to be reborn. He was entirely confused, thinking that he actually had to born again by his mother. Jesus explained to him that it was not by physical rebirth, but of water and the Holy Spirit. In John 3:6 it says that the Spirit gives birth to the Spirit. And this is connected to Ezekiel 37 when it says that the Spirit breathes life to the slain. According to the Bible, without being born again we might as well be the bones in that valley.
god says: even so, is the revival, for, god brings to life the dead, and he shows you his signs, the proofs of his power, so that you might understand, [that you might] reflect and realise that the one capable of reviving a single soul is also capable of reviving a multitude of souls, and then believe}.
This is a literal example of death and rebirth, he has transformed. Jesus is literally transform physically and mentally. He has risen from the dead and there is a clear difference comparing Jesus from his life before he dies and after he
However, Christ’s resurrection ensures our regeneration. We have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Peter explicitly connects Jesus’ resurrection with our regeneration or new birth (1 Peter 1:3-4). When Jesus rose from the dead he had a new quality of life, a “resurrection life” in a human body and human spirit that were perfectly suited for fellowship also obedience to God forever. In his resurrection, Jesus earned for us a new life. Notably, we do not receive all the new “resurrection life” when we become Christians, for our bodies remain as they were, still subject to weakness, aging, and death. But in our spirits, we are made alive with new resurrection power.
Nicodemus doesn’t understand being born again so Jesus talks to him in a language he is familiar with – God’s word. He talks about being born of water and spirit (Ezekiel 36:26-27), how wind comes and goes (Ecclesiastes 11:5), and how the snake was lifted up to save the Israelites lives, (Numbers 21: 8-9) so the Messiah must be lifted up to save people’s souls. Jesus tires of Nicodemus’ continual questions about the same thing. Jesus points out to him that he is not listening.
Baptism in (or with) the Holy Spirit is a very important, distinctive Christian experience in the life of the believer. The basis is found in the book of Acts, specifically the event of Pentecost.
The Holy Spirit of God is the active force or power in one’s life, which most certainly includes spiritual formation (Pettit, 2008, p. 46). When Jesus was speaking with his disciples he made it clear – by using the analogy of a vine and branches – that apart from him they could do nothing (John 15:5). Only if one is connected to Christ will they have the ability to bear fruit and the way Jesus empowers those connected to him is through the Holy Spirt that that father will send in his name (John 14:26). The fact is that the triune God dwells in the Christian in and through the Holy Spirit. One sees this when they place multiple passages together to gain a full understanding of this concept. For example, Jesus made it clear that he and the father would come and make their home with the disciple (John 14:23). In 1 Corinthians 6:19 Paul reminds the Corinthians that their bodies are the very temple of God because the Holy Spirit dwells in them which is similar to what Jesus said would happen when he sent the Holy Spirit after his resurrection and ascension (John 14:17, 16:7).
In this paper, I will review Robert Gromacki’s book The Holy Spirit: Who He is, What He Does I will detail what I feel the book is about. I will emphasize various points given by the author that stood out to me. Finally, I will give my personal evaluation of the book.
1. Nicodemus was a Jewish leader, a member of the Sanhedrin, a Pharisee; they were adversaries of Jesus, who by the virtue of his coming to Jesus and the salute he gave Jesus presupposed that he admitted that Jesus was from God. Because of this admission, Jesus took him to a higher level to tell him about how he can partake in the Kingdom: that he had to be born again, born of water of the Spirit. Unfortunately, Nicodemus didn’t understand, to him, he sees being born again as a repetitive birth. Jesus took him to school that telling him that it is a spiritual birth, a new kind of life that has to be generated by the Holy Spirit.
A typical phrase from a typical high school boy. Believe it or not, he's dead. He just got sent to some place he had never been, a.k.a the sky. Anyone who thinks of being reborn would generally think of a hospital.
In convincing Arjuna to fight, Krishna goes on to talk about the cycle of birth and death. Here he states that the soul never dies and there is merely a sloughing of the body. Here we see that Krishna hints upon the common Hindu belief of reincarnation. He states that the purposeof this cycle is so that a person can achieve their purpose and act all they can to please God. If a person is therefore successful completing his service to God, he has successfully worked off the
The Holy Spirit plays a very vital role in the lives of each and every believer; He can strengthen us with a strength that we cannot even begin to muster up in ourselves. He can bring us joy that we cannot even begin to find in the things of this world. He can bring peace to our lives more than anything that we can ever find on this earth. “The Holy Spirit which is primarily an energizing process, is also a revealing, refining, consuming, illuminating process, and one by which we are made to glow with love to God, and love to man, and love to souls.”

The passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John’s writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous, unrighteous, and of Jesus’ own resurrection; John 5:24-29. Focal point of the Gospel of John and seeing the life-giving power according to the Gospel of John; supposing if one was to look in the Holman Christian Apologetics Study Bible the individual may see a note that is in reference and a prediction (or prophecy) of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it is found in Job (19:23-27); the Scripture says,
This happens with one simple solution. Planning. Before physical birth the soul choses what type of experiences it wishes to have (such as being charitable to those in his community) and chooses a body in which to live out that life. Sometimes, the soul may choose a body that will not be born or whose live will end rather shortly (a mother losing her baby). In these cases, the soul has decided to help another soul experience and learn from loss of a loved one. Between lives, the soul does not immediately become reborn. There is a time spent reflecting on the experiences learned.
It is believed that resurrection does not happen all at one time. Instead, it happens many more times as part of a process for mending the world. This is not necessarily the belief of all people in the religion. Like other ideas, there are even differences in beliefs of reincarnation itself. Some say that it would likely happen to anyone on a routine basis and all that you would need to do is live a good life. In other cases, it seems like the beginning of a modern ghost story. It’s believed that reincarnation would only take place if the soul had some sort of unfinished business to attend to. I am not sure what sort of unfinished business that these souls would have. My only idea, would be some sort of closure needed from a living loved one. Another reason that I do not believe in reincarnation is that animals would act very different if they were being possessed by the souls of those that have already passed away. Plants would not be likely recipients of reincarnated souls in my opinion, especially if they are only being reincarnated for unfinished
