A person who has had a very positive influence in my life was my very first Scout Master while I was in Boy Scouts. His name was Glen Long. He taught me many things about Boy Scouts, but this is not what makes him an influential person to me. Many people believe that to be a leader you must be strict and demanding. This is not the case, however. Mr. Long showed me many was in how to be a leader, but how to lead with the help of others. He taught me that no good leader leads on his or her own. He also put me in many different situations to get me out of my comfort zone because he said "a person never grows if they are always comfortable." He did this while being fun and starting a very personable relationship with me. He also taught
Influential people change the world with their words, influences people takes risks and try harder in people’s life. Lebron James once said, “Don’t be afraid of failure; this is the way to succeed.” Lebron tried to tell people that they don’t need be afraid to fail even he does. Also, he is one of the greatest players ever and he still is succeeding throughout his life. Failure is what lets us people know what we did wrong and how to succeed next time. Another, quote by Ray Lewis says, “All I know is the grind.” Ray said that hard work pays off, and him working hard getting the grind is paying off for him because he is a very successful football player. He wants people to be successful, so he told them how he did it so that they could follow in his footsteps. Drake says,“Life can always change, you just have to adjust.” Overall, This quote just tells us life will change no matter what, so we need to figure out a way to get through that change. Like when Drake’s life changed when he became a famous rapper, he adjusted and wanted to be better. Now he’s more famous there will be obstacles in our path just find a way around them. Those influential people have quoted
Leadership, as you should know is a very important role in society. Without it all of society and everyone in it would probably crumble. No more inspirations, abolitionists, presidents, or really anything. There can be good leaders, malicious leaders, greedy leaders, and even inspiring leaders. But the question is; what makes a good leader and who is an excellent role model on this subject?
Influencing others, a great thing to do especially if it’s someone that looks up to you or that you care about. Making a change in people’s lives is a great thing to do. I have been called a “leader” by one of the kids at the Salvation Army. I have positively influenced someone by giving a speech on what to do and how to solve problems.
A leader I admire is former Secretary of State General Colin Powell. Mr. Powell has experience many obstacles and understand the meaning of hard work. I personally try to accomplish his pervious goals, such as completing the ROTC program and hopefully attend George Washington University for my Master and Ph.D. General Colin Powell inspires me to do my best at UCF, ROTC and military career.
One of the leaders that influenced me significantly were president Ronald Reagan. President Reagan has done incredible works to make the U.S become much stronger nation. He found ways to create more jobs, reducing tax rates and signing the agreement with former Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev to end cold war.
The person I picked to be my most influential person in leadership is Bryan Galindo. Mr. Galindo is an upcoming senior at University of Houston. His family is originally from Mexico; Mr. Galindo chose UH in order to pursue his Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics. Now, Mr. Galindo is holding an executive position in an Asian American fraternity.
Through my leadership I have convinced many people to believe in themselves to try something new. One of my favorite moments from high school was when I convinced a freshman FFA member to try public speaking.
A leadership experience in what I positively influence others and helped resolve disputes was Link Crew. Link Crew is a program where we help incoming freshmen to high school and show them around school and help them out on anything they need like homework. When I was a link crew leader I helped many kids who had low grades. While I was in this program I noticed that many kids had low grades and didn't turn in work or even their homework I did my best and talked to them about how they will struggle so much to get there credits later on some kids listen and did all their work where they at least passed their classes with a D or C. I had people who I got to meet during this I communicated with many people who joined this program and helped many kids. Students who come to high school think it will be very easy like in middle school but it will get harder each year. Many times I was helping the students I feel like It influenced them to work harder and be better in school and help each other in some ways. Link Crew was such a good program that it was where others students helped other students. I showed many leadership experience by joining this program.
There have also been people who have motivated me to be a leader, especially my high school orchestra director. At the end of my junior year, my director called me into his office and told me he would be moving me from the first violin section to the second violin section. He said he knew I was quiet in the back of the first violin section, but he could see I possessed the leadership skills necessary to sit in the front of the second violin section. This really motivated me to try and make him proud the next year at the front of the section. Many different aspects of my life have affected my leadership philosophy.
I firmly believe that the people i've surrounded myself with have helped me become the person I am today. I think that they have helped me become a leader in my own right and have pushed me to achieve reach my full potential. The passion that I have has forced me to be the leader i am in the sense that i push for the goals I know are reachable and it has also allowed me to be the leader that compromises when it comes to the people I work with. I’m adaptable, positive, and i maximize where and when I
In the past, there have been many people who have done extraordinary things, and most of the time the amazing things they have done makes them influential. For example, influences include people speaking up and saying what is right, helping out with a major issue, and by helping people to think outside the box. Although an individual that has influenced millions of people would be Alexander Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton is influential because he was one of Washington’s most trusted soldiers, his outlook on life inspired many people, and he created the first national bank.
Sparse historical figures stand out like the man Alexander the Great. He became a warrior by the age of sixteen and was a king at twenty. He did things during his existence that others could only envisage about. Alexander was a man who was both wrathful and compassionate depending on the day. He single-handedly transformed the tide of the world in a little over a decade, and inadvertently may have shaped how the entire world has grown. I believe he perfectly exemplifies the qualities of a person whose leadership and legacy has had great effect.
My father is someone who I believe is a good leader. My dad is a good leader because he knows how to overcome difficult situations and communicate when times are tough. He does that all while keeping the trust of everyone around him. He also knows how to stay confident while ensuring us that things will be okay. Not only do I see him as a leader but he has also influenced me to become
Martin Luther King Jr. has given me a preface of knowledge on how any great skilled leader should be. A baptist minister who became something more than a civil rights activist. Dr. King Jr. was a leader to all no matter their background or the measure of their hardships. He taught me to love, not hate, and to accept all as though they were my brother or sister. Most importantly he has inspired me to be a leader and to show skill while doing so. Dr. King Jr. was able to broadcast big impactful words throughout the entire world that touched the hearts of many. Hope is all I can do when aspiring to be as skilled a leader as Martin Luther King Jr. is in my life.
Here are 2 supporting claims on how my dad became a virtuous leader and had the responsibility to influence others to also be leaders themselves. My dad was in the military and became a virtuous leader by teaching young military members the right ways in life. For example, when he was a drill instructor he would always see men wanting to give up in their career, but instead of telling them to man up he would always have the time after drills to see and help on what problems they face every day at boot camp. This gives us an idea of how virtuous leaders influence and help others face obstacles to become leaders too. Doing this in our
