Alex Libby finally got tired of people bugging him and pushing him around, so he decided to move schools. Once he moved to his new school, the bullying stopped. Many years after he went to the White House to have a chat with President Barack Obama. He also was able to have a chat with a beauty pageant winner. All of this happened because Alex decided to become an advocate spokesperson for the bullying cause throughout the world. People enjoyed his inspiring talks, that they made shirts that everyone wears. His act, Brought him national notoriety (Being Famous). The fame he had at school caused him to not commit suicide. Now Alex Libby is a High school Freshman with friends coming up to him and hugging him for what he did.
One of the things he has done is gone to the white house. When he went back home from the white house many people now knew him because of the movie “Bully” and they all felt bad for him, so now Alex has many friends and while at school he gets hugs from others. Alex still has Aspergers. Asperger's is like autism but not as bad. Since Alex does not get bullied anymore he now has his own website that donates money and his shirt from the website, that he wears says “I stand for the silent”. This means he is fighting for all people of bullying around the world to help
One of my most loathed singers, Taylor Swift, once stated, “If they don 't like you for being yourself, be yourself even more.” However, in Erin Murphy’s ‘White Lies’, this is not the case for young Connie, who was a quiet albino girl, new to Arpi’s school. Regardless of her desperate efforts to be accepted by her classmates, they were not warming up to her. Taking action, her mother helped Connie figure out a way to make her classmates talk to her and like her. I agree with her mother’s decision to help her daughter, even if it wasn’t the truth. Bullying is becoming an increasingly important problem for parents, school administrators and teachers on a vast scale.
I knew nothing about the book except its amazing title and distinct description. I have read many bullying stories, but this one seemed to stand out more compared to most stories. I wanted to read this story because it had something that interested me greatly, on the back Lucy stated that “to feel that more than anything else we want to be loved for who we are, while wishing desperately and secretly to be perfect” I found this quote quite unique in contrast to other books in this genre which intrigued me greatly.
A 14-year-old boy in the Bronx was fatally stabbed after a school brawl on June 18, 2014. However, the boy who was stabbed turn out to the bully while Noel Estevez stab him in self-defense. Friends of Noel Estevez stated that he was being bullied. He was not attending school because of the bullying and had try to attempted suicide before the incident. There have been rumors stated that Noel Estevez may have rob the victim’s phone for his alleged mother’s drug addiction. This missing phone is the leading cause of months of bullying Noel Estevez. This incident is very disheartening and rises question on the way the administration handle this situation after several report were made before the stabbing occurred.
Going through the lines of, Lucy Betts's article, “Student Guide: 7 Ways Banter Can Become Bullying,” shows a compelling framework to understand how seemingly harmless jokes or comments can transform into acts of bullying and harassment. This framework becomes bitter when examined alongside Ray Bradbury's short story, "All Summer in a Day," a narrative that captures the devastating impact of bullying through its portrayal of children's cruelty towards a classmate on earth’s evil twin, Venus. The meeting points of Lucy Betts' insights and Bradbury's narrative show how bullying is a form of injustice, showing the importance of mindfulness in our interactions to prevent causing harm to others. Bullying can easily cross lines and create injustice,

In Allie Bidwell’s report for the USNews entitled "Study: Anti-Bullying Programs May Have Opposite Effect” she says, “students at schools with anti-bullying initiatives are actually more likely to be victims of bullying than students who attend schools without such programs.” The anti-bullying programs may not be having the effect that they were supposed to have. They were created with good intentions, but they could be having the opposite effect. Bidwell goes on to explain that bullies could be learning new ways to bully others. The programs are teaching everyone what bullying looks like and what they should do about it. While this is a good thing, it is also teaching bullies ways to bully and go unnoticed. The laws and programs say what to
Although he died at last, these were also meaningful. In my own opinion, Alex is still the person I admire. First and foremost, I do not think his action is meaningless, and what he did was not "escape". The truth is some people do not understand or experience his feeling and thought. As all of us know after watching his documentary, he had an anguished childhood.
Bullying has been engrained in American society since the country’s founding. Bred from a capitalistic economy and competitive social hierarchy, bullying has remained a relevant issue through the years. A thorough analysis of various case studies, statistical research, law cases, and news articles was conducted to understand the issue of bullying and to find preventative measures that should be taken. The purpose of this paper will be to analyze the different rhetorical situations of numerous texts concerning bullying in school systems and understanding their relationships in that aspect.
In the introduction, Emdin includes a tragedy that occurred to a victim of bullying; “...the death of Jamey Rodemeyer, a teenager from Buffalo, NY who committed suicide after being bullied by classmates, the nation has once again become re-awakened to the fact that this issue, which flooded the media a year ago with the death of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi, is not going away anytime soon” (Emdin). By including this in his article, Emdin captures the audience’s attention by showing just how big of a problem bullying is. Children are taking their own lives because they can’t handle the bullying. This inclusion is a good transition into the rest of Emdin’s article. The basis is to get the audience's attention and cause them to make a change to the problem at
Chris just graduated from Emory University with high in honors. He was on a great track of being successful in life. He had sfe enough money in order to go wherever he wanted to and his parents were there to help him go in this road. So he leaves to go to college but when his parents went to go visit him he is gone. He dropped everything to hitchhike in a cross country road trip. He donates all his money so he has nothing left so he can go undetected. He goes so far out the way that he changes his name to Alex Supertramp. Lots of people were so surprised when this happen of why he would but he is following something he wanted to do.
They used what they learned about him in the treatment center to drive him to suicide. The community manipulated Alex only to regain complete control over the society. The state is also willing to take away freedom of choice and willing to replace it with force-fed good behavior. This is an example of control in a state/society because the state choose to sacrifice liberty (and sanity) for the well being of the society as a whole.
Even through everything that happened Alex’s strength never wavered. Things were tough, everyone blamed her for Lukas death and thereafter distanced themselves from her. People called her everything under the sun, a liar, a druggie, and even a murderer. She continued to be called all those things even though all she did was try to help Lukas. Through everything that was happening, she also lost her job, and her home but she made it through. She persevered, found a new job, moved in with family, and made new
