Greece is a country in South Eastern Europe, also being known as the birth place of western culture. Originating western literature, philosophy, historiography, political science even the Olympic Games. Greeks also developed and thrived in many fields that rely on systematic thought, such as history biology, philosophy and physics, geometry. In their expansion, the Greeks also produced an ideal of beauty that influenced Western art. The culture of Greece has evolved over thousands of years. Evolving through many characteristics of various cultures of successors in the early Ancient Empire. Many historians give credit to the Greek war of Independence for giving birth to a brand new Greek culture. Greeks are great – hearted at their contributions that they have put out into the world; a recent study even found that Greeks pride in being Greek surpassed the ethnic satisfaction of every other European nation. For example, in Greece, it is common for an elderly member of the community to help a young adult in search of a job. Greeks are heavily influenced by their religion, the Greek Orthodox Church, when it comes to everyday life, in turn having strict rules for how one should behave within society. Religion is essential to life in Greece and is indicated in the respect of hierarchy and the view of the family as a single unit of strength.
