First things first, Romeo and Juliet could have made decisions that would have led to a different outcome. Their whole entire “love” was drastically rushed into. They knew each for a whole day before they decided to get married. There is no way that anybody falls in love that quickly. It's not just the matter of time that could have prevented a few unnecessary events, but also Romeo’s repulsive “player” behavior. The same day he fell in love with Juliet, he was still pining over some girl named Rosaline. The only reason he was at Capulets party anyway, was because Rosaline was there. He literally spent the first day moping around town all depressed because Rosaline didn't love him, and later that night he loves another girl. Maybe if Romeo had taken time to get to know either one of those girls, he would realize he didn't really love either of them and no tragic love story would have needed to be composed. …show more content…
Maybe if they had told their families, they could have explained that a name is only that—just a name— and a person shouldn't be defined by what people call them. Maybe their parents would realize how silly their feud was and move on. If they did move on, then Tybalt and Mercutio wouldn't have been killed off. Romeo and Juliet would get happily married with supportive families, and Paris would have never been in the picture. Also, no dead Tybalt means that Romeo wouldn't need to be banished. He would stay in Verona and Juliet wouldn't have to come up with a plan to fake her death, so she could runaway and be with Romeo. Which means there would be no heartache or confusion. So many bad things could have been averted with too simple of
Romeo and Juliet were simply too hasty when they decided to get married only after hours of knowing each other. The play uses the phrase, “Love at first sight”. “Love at first sight” isn’t a thing. In the play they fall for each other because of how they look. It isn’t love when it is based on love, that is called lust. Lust is not a reason to marry someone you just met. They barely even knew each other, and they decided to get married within a few hours, there are no circumstances were that’s okay. You can’t “love” anybody when you’ve only know each other for a few hours. Had they not married in the first place, they both would have lived.
Romeo shouldn’t have reacted so immaturity and should’ve waited patiently. Therefore, Romeo and Juliet would’ve lived happily
When Romeo and Juliet are talking in the balcony scene, Romeo disowns his family’s name and says he will not go by that name anymore by saying “Neither, fair maid, if either thee dislike.” This shows that how rash Romeo can get; with just a few seconds of thinking, he decides that he will switch names just to be with his enemy. This is important because he is disowning his family, who raised him and gave him everything he needed his entire life, just to be with a girl who he doesn’t know much about. “Wilt thou provoke me? Then have at thee, boy!” Romeo says directly before killing Paris outside the grave of Juliet. This is another impulsive decision by Romeo where instead of explaining his situation, hurts himself and Paris in the process. This is important because if he had explained the situation to Paris, someone else besides the Friar would know what happened and could explain to the policemen. Romeo’s thinking skills weren’t strong and affected his family and friends in the
Those who have viewed a tragic play may recognize that some characters, even with good intentions, can have inferior judgment and make unfortunate decisions. The characters of the Nurse and Friar Lawrence make such poor choices that eventually lead to devastating events. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the blame for Romeo and Juliet’s premature deaths falls on the Nurse and Friar Lawrence because of their immature decision making and flawed plans, supporting the theme that making decisions carelessly can lead to negative consequences. While the Nurse and Friar Lawrence both serve as parental figures in the lives of Romeo and Juliet, they fail to act responsibly and instead feed into and enable Romeo and Juliet’s fantasies. At the end of

First, Romeo and Juliet, when they first met, didn’t even have to kiss each other. They could have gotten to know each other, but they did kiss, and I know that things were different back then, but still. Even when they did kiss and talk about getting married, I think they could have gone about it a different way. They could have talked to their parents about it because Romeo's dad probably would have been fine with it and Juliets dad said that he didn’t mind Romeo and that he was a good man. They could have actually got to have a real wedding and honeymoon instead of getting married in secret and
If the Friar would have advised them not to marry and to wait for time to pass so they can get to know each other, then the tragedy once again could have been avoided. As a result, even though there are multiple points in the story where the characters could have avoided all the complications of what the relationship of Romeo and Juliet would bring they continue to act
They would not have to fake a death or drink poison. They would have any fear of their parents for marrying someone they found on their own. Romeo and Juliet fought and died for each other out of passionate love. They were scared to tell their parents and if their parents found out they would not being seeing each other anymore. If their was no feud, Romeo and Juliet could live happily ever after and there would no fighting, less deaths, and one big happy
The thing that separates humans from animals is mankind’s ability to make decisions. One makes many different choices every day. Whether the decision concerns a matter of great importance, like voting for a new president, or just a simple everyday decision, like what one should eat for breakfast, each decision affects one’s own life or another’s life. Making good choices, however, is easier said than done. Over the ages, many people have found themselves in a difficult situation due to unfortunate decision-making.
Romeo and Juliet were facing many obstacles during the time they first encountered one another. Their, so-called, “love” sprung as they were both trying to escape from their present problems. Romeo was previously in love with a beautiful girl named Rosaline, although she couldn’t love him back and fulfill Romeo’s sexual desires because she was becoming a nun. He was heartbroken when he found out about this, and thus, he was left inconsolable. Once he discovered that Rosaline was attending the Capulet ball, he decided to sneak in. Minutes into the ball, Romeo sees Juliet and immediately professes his love for her. Juliet also had her own dilemmas to deal with. Some of which included being forced into marrying Paris, a man whom she did not love. Therefore, her love for Romeo was influenced by her reluctance to marry Paris. Prior to Romeo and Juliet’s encounter at the Capulet party, Juliet comments on marriage stating, “It is an honor that I dream not of,” (1.3.68). This quote shows that Juliet had no interest in getting married anytime soon, although when she meets
Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations, but in this case it led to death. Some think that their death was from their personal choices, others think they were destined to die. Although some think that destiny led these two lovers together, it was their own personal choice. Personal choices have a greater impact on the characters because of its direct effect on the characters.
The actions and decision in Romeo and Juliet have very harsh consequences. If they could be prevent the end result would be a lot better. Romeo and Juliet take lots of risk in the story. Romeo cracks to per pressure and it comes out to be a negative consequence. Romeo and Juliet take risk to see each other every time they meet and talk.
He went from crying over Rosaline in a few hours to falling in love with Juliet. If he wasn't like that he would have never been with Juliet which is a very good thing. Romeo is not in love he just went from one girl to another.
If there was no hatred between the two families, then Romeo would have never had to step in front of Mercutio and cause the serious consequences.
Juliet and Romeo's love at first sight isn't as sweet as it first seems, as it leads into their own and three other character's,Tybalt, Paris, Lady Montague and Mercutio, deaths. "O Romeo, Romeo, brave Mercutio's dead!...This shall determine that .They fight; TYBALT falls" (I,i,78-93). Mercutio is slain by Tybalt, which is then slain by Romeo. If Romeo had not been married to Juliet things might have turned out differently for both characters. If Romeo had been less haste, the chances of this brawl of ever ocurring in the first place would have been much lower, thus saving the lives of two very important characters of this play.
