Here I go again – driving around this hospital parking garage to look for a parking space. It appears that no matter how early I arrive; I must deal with searching for a parking space. Furthermore, I now realize it is virtually impossible to find parking space near the hospital building entrance. So, I proceed to the top floor of the garage; hopefully, I will find a parking space near the hospital entrance door. As I drive up the ramp, circle once around the top floor to locate a space near the entrance, I notice a person wearing a lab coat, jump out of a car in a space near the entrance door. I pause for a moment and watch this person sprint through that door. I waited a minute or two before parking my car and entering the hospital. When I step off the elevator, I immediately notice that there are several boxes directly below a fire alarm. Could these boxes indicate that the hospital will update its fire alarm system in the near future? …show more content…
So, I quickly walk down the hallway and around the corner to the main information desk to ensure that I have accurate information for my clinic location. As I approach the desk, I notice one person using a parental tone of voice with another person about a patient getting incorrect information. Also, the person reprimanding the other person stated, “Write these location changes on the old list until you receive a new, updated list.” Even though I just witnessed an employee being scolded about location changes, the representative assisting me is quite friendly and is going to escort me to my clinic.

As many of the service users within the hospital may already be in a vulnerable state, the exposure to smoke may worsen their condition if not addressed quickly. Some of the effects of smoke exposure to a service user already suffering from respiratory problems can include the inability to breathe normally, excessive cough with or without mucus, discomfort in the chest and wheezing or shortness of breath. All problems that can lead to more serious problems if not looked at and fixed as quickly as possible. Another problem that can occur during the case of a fire, can include a safety breach. When the fire alarm is set off inside the hospital it is important to follow the procedure and get everybody to
crucial in the safety of patients. The Informatic Nurse Specialist along with the nurse manager and alarm committee will individualize and customize alarm thresholds to limits that are clinically appropriate for individual patients to decrease the incidence of nuisance and false alarms that distract staff members and contribute to alarm fatigue ( Cvach,2012; Evans,Shumante & Lovelace, 2011). Staff will be re-educated on the appropriate use of alarm systems to help minimize the effects of nuisance and false alarms. When staff are appropriately trained on how to fully utilize equipment, clinically signicant
Depending on the local customers and one can opt for the Broadway Café located in the centre of a city, possibly within a restricted traffic area and accessible only by those who travel on foot or by public transport. In all other areas, in towns or suburbs, smaller cities, are of fundamental importance to the availability of parking. Since now we move mainly by car and the customer has available parking along the public streets adjacent to or, a private courtyard for customers (Ambler, 2000).
The planning of activities within the medical office is important for the Medical Administrative Assistant because planning allows room for organization and without organization there would be no successful businesses. An example of planning activities would include patient scheduling. This is essential in the medical office because the MAA must know the method of scheduling the office will run off of whether it be block or wave scheduling. This is also essential in the medical office because you must know the times available for the physicians so that you do not mistakenly over/under book a physician in the office. By enhancing the skill of planning and or scheduling it will allow success for you as an individual and the medical office you
When someone pulls into the Parkview Nursing Home’s parking lot, the first challenge they will face is picking which of the three doors to go in through. Hoping that they pick the main entrance, they will then be walking into their second challenge: go straight, or go down the hallway to your left. Hopefully, they will find a map of the building and realize the Parkview Nursing Home is like a giant, hollow square. There are four different hallways, two lined with resident’s rooms, one attached to the dining room and one hallway that is for the administration offices. In the middle of this big squared building, is the Courtyard. The Courtyard is an enclosed outdoor area that the residents can go enjoy the weather without the fear that someone
To encourage students to take advantage of the off-campus parking locations to reduce personal stress and traffic congestion, the Department of Parking and Transportation will issue refunds for the $26 parking decal fee already paid for all students who change their parking area selection from East, West or Central parking for the remainder of the semester to either the 3305 Busbee Drive or Town Point satellite parking areas on the Kennesaw campus, or Lots 40/41 on the Marietta campus.
Arkansas Tech University has one of the best parking with an average of two-minute walk from the parking lot to class, including parking areas available by each building on campus- according to ATU’s website and administrator. However, that is not true at all, alongside the increasing student body there not nearly enough parking spots for students. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to increase the number of parking areas available to students. With this issue solved, students will have no complaints with the university.
Driving up to Porterfield Health and Rehabilitation, I was first struck by how old the building looked. Evenly spaced small windows covered by broken blinds were equipped with mounted AC units. Cars of different older model types haphazardly scattered the front of the lot. I could tell that some semblance of order was attempted, but due to the lack of a designated parking lot with painted lines, any major attempt at parking evenly had been abandoned. I steeled myself, got out of my car, and walked up to the front door. I pulled, but it was locked. A nurse watching me struggle quickly entered a passcode into the electronic box outside of the door and let me in. I took my place in the long line forming at the reception desk as a woman in a wheelchair
We were playing a game called (Parking in the City) at the third class meeting by divided to different groups. Each group consisted of two students and should fill some parts in their paper to negotiate Part (A Employee & B Garage attendant) there were Target Point, Resistance Point, BATNA (Best Alternative to Negotiated Agreement) and ZOPA (Zone of Possible Agreement), which I was the employee. After that students who had picked part A or B should discuss about what they would talk and find out how they could peruse the different side. My part A as Employee that I worked at Magnolia Medical Center, which I reserved after a reservation from a restaurant in the downtown. My case was that use the parking space at Magnolia Medical Center because the restaurant is a few minutes’ walk from, so I parked my car there but after I had finished my meal I shocked that I must pay fee with $30 that I should not pay any fee as an employee at Magnolia Medical Center and the ideal would be to pay $0 even there were change in my pocket or to pay less than $30.
Employee’s satisfaction is one of the ways companies remain competitive and people are company’s greatest asset. With the changing of the seasons, the days are shorter and the temperatures are near freezing, the long walk to and from the garage is a big inconvenience. We believe giving employees freedom of choice concerning where they would be able to park would increase safety as well as job satisfaction.
With the proliferation of technology in the today’s healthcare environment, the healthcare community is increasingly concerned about the patient safety risks associated to clinical alarm hazards. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, the Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI) identified clinical alarm hazards as a high priority potential danger area in hospitals and health systems (ECRI, 2014). The Joint Commission, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ECRI, and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) have all identified the need to address alarm management and alarm fatigue as a priority patient safety concern (Horkan, 2014). In response to these concerns, federal regulatory mandates are increasingly coupled with recommended alarm management practices and protocols. Despite these focused efforts, alarm fatigue and alarm management continue to be priority national patient safety concerns.
New students entering Western Michigan University are allowed to have a car on campus. With every new freshmen class entering each year, parking poses a problem. WMU is already limited in its parking on campus and since freshmen are allowed to have cars, the students are faced with the dilemma of having nowhere to park or parking quite far from their destination. There are parking problems all over the campus, creating backups in residence
Over the past few years, my understanding of social work has changed tremendously. I first thought of the field as fixed, rigid, and one-dimensional. The more I learn about social work, however, the more I realize how vast and constantly evolving it is. Social workers study both empirical evidence as well as abstract theory and everything in between. In my studies at Vassar, I have learned the importance of a multi-systems approach to understanding a phenomenon. In my neuroscience classes, I learned that in order to gain the most accurate understanding of a behavior or mental function, one must study interactions at the level of the synapse, at genetic and evolutionary levels, in the context of an organism’s environment, and with
Through the online research, I discovered how other churches have dealt with situations similar to ours. Learning what has worked for other churches has helped me to know whether or not their solution will be acceptable for our church. I found out where other churches visitor parking areas
