Over time many factors have been a part of molding the immigration policy that we know and hold true to. Not just one argument caused the view we see threw when pondering immigration, but many have settled their opinions into our policy. One of the many arguments used was the argument against the Chinese and how they were so-called dangerous. Horace Davis states, “The experience of other nations who have permitted Chinese immigration and showed you that wherever it has been allowed the same unvarying features mark their presence, and that after centuries of contact with other people in the islands of the East Indies their race peculiarities are just distinct as they are today in California; so that our only hope lies in a law restricting their …show more content…

Davis was extremely harsh towards Chinese immigrants, he viewed them as taking the place we call home and shaking the very views and ways America was built upon. Though many immigrants have been welcomed into America, due to ensuring the very heritage of our country, they started to limit those coming in. President Lyndon B. Johnson remarked, “To immigrate to America shall be admitted on the basis of their skills and their close relationship to those already here”. He started to open up the opinion that in order to come into citizenship they must have something to offer. If the immigrants wanted to come to America quickly and be at the very front of lines to cross into the great land they must have contacts or be without a doubt providing essential parts into making America a place to call home. These are just two of the arguments that have been used in making the immigration policy. Views from countless of people, from countless places, have compared and contrasted one another.
