In an interesting social experiment, the company Honest Tea found out how honest people are, across the country. Based on the honor system, this experiment looked at whether people paid for their tea when they thought no one was looking. Most people in the country are honest The makers of Honest Tea set up stands in 27 cities across the country with signs stating that each bottle of tea costs one dollar. They left the stands unmanned, but observed how people behaved, from a distance. The survey did not surprise, for the most part. Overall, 94% of people surveyed paid for the tea, which is slightly down from last year’s 95%. Honest Tea, a company that makes organic tea beverages has been conducting this not-so-scientific survey for six years
The colonists were debating whether or not to retaliate. They decided that the British treatment was too aggressive, and that they wouldn't put up with it any longer.

As seen throughout the novel, Melinda presented major symptoms of self-destruction to the audience as a result from the rape. First of all, there are many signs of this type of behavior, one that Melinda has shown on various occasions are acts of physical harm. The most serious example of this is was in “Rent Round” on page 87 when Melinda was in her closet after a rough day. “I open up a paperclip and scratch it across the inside of my left wrist…… I draw little windowcracks of blood, etching line after line until it stops hurting”. At this point in the novel, we know this quote proves an act of attempted suicide, which greatly relates with self-destructive behavior. This quote/event is great evidence of how the rape affected Melinda mentally.
Planning a party is usually something people do to celebrate a person or a great event. The Boston Tea Party was not that type of party. On December 16, 1773 around 10:00 A.M., Samuel Adams and a group of Patriots who called themselves the Sons of Liberty gathered at the Old South Meeting House in Boston, Massachusetts. They met there to decide what to do about the 1767 Townshend Acts, the 1773 Tea Act, and “taxation without representation.” After much discussion, the men agreed to protest against Great Britain by dumping tea into the Boston Harbor. This event, originally called “the destruction of the tea”, is today known as The Boston Tea Party.

The large and bold typeface of Andrews & Dunham peaks the interest of the audience, so when they go to further examine the package they read Damn Fine Tea, which would explain to the audience first, what the product is and second, that this would be considered an exceptional brand of tea. The designer chooses to let the words Damn Fine Tea speak for itself by using a simple and smaller typeface, rather than making the typeface overpowering and distracting to the message itself. In this sense less is more, no more is said than there needs to be and the type face does not distract the audience from the overall message.
Giving back to those who aren't as fortunate is a feeling that is unlike any other. When looking for what book to choose, “Three Cups of Tea’ jumped out at me due to that factor of giving back. The book takes the reader through Greg Mortensen’s life and his quest to build schools, and give back to the impoverished peoples throughout Pakistan. Mortensen has been an avid climber since he was a young boy, and on his descent on a failed climb on one of the worlds most dangerous mountains which is located in Pakistan, he is in very bad condition and lost from his fellow climbers, Mortenson stumbles into the village of Korphe where he is tended to by the local people there. Inspired by their care for him, and also shocked by their lack of schooling,
Thanks for your post and the information related to Honest Tea and its corporate social responsibility. The Corporate social responsibility has become a tool to build the legitimacy and is used to influence the competitive advantage and highly constructive and interactive relationship with the stakeholders through the CSR activities. However, in today’s business world the CSR activities based on the marketing buzz is not enough and can be detrimental to the long term brand image if the commitment is not made. In 21st century with the shift in consumer preferences, majority of the consumer would be inclined for the brand advocacy of the Company that is driven by values and has a true purpose of community engagement and cultural integration. There are many organizations in the food industry such as Whole Foods, Ben & Jerry foundation, Starbucks, Panera Breads etc. who are engaged in programs to share a part of the profit for community development and farmer’s development.
Central Idea: To be as healthy as we can be, we need to be informed about what certain things, specifically tea, can do to help improve our bodies overall health.
In 1985, Global Tea was founded and started by three sisters in Los Angeles California. The sisters agreed to launch the business due to their fondness for fine tea. The sisters built a gratifying retail customer base throughout the Western states. In 1992, one of the sisters passed from cancer, which hindered the business. Jack Reynolds, who was their CPA decided to react to the opportunity of business ownership. He, along with two of his friends, bought the company and instantly started a transformation of the products. They changed graphics, advertising, and finally decided to reform the name to Tea and More (TAM). Although TAM was running successfully, Jack wanted sole ownership. After approximately 24 months, Jack bought out his friends. Once he was solely responsible for the company he began to run it with more of a dictatorship attitude. Over time TAM staff grew with positions added such as Executive VP, VP of Sales, VP of Operations, and several director level positions. However, no matter how large the company grew, any final decisions still needed to be vetted through Jack for final approval. Granted Jack was quite controlling, by 2009 he had taken the business revenue from approximately $1 million to over $25 million. Before attaining the company, lead vendors were in China and India; and were used on an “as available” basis. Jack had a different vision and added other countries to the vendor’s list. He eventually landed a contract
In our sales pitch we decided to practice first and do a one-time shot because we wanted to have mistakes in order to learn from them. I started with introducing myself in a professional way by saying my name and mentioning who am I representing, but the first mistake I have committed is that I was supposed to introduce myself more not only a name and who am I representing, I was supposed to say in audition who I talked to over the phone and ask the buyer about his situation at least, what I have done is because I really wanted to get it done and that a huge mistake. I jumped from introducing myself straight to the SPIN technique and I missed salesperson gains prospect 's attention, effectively builds rapport, and smooth transition into needs identification, which have a huge part in building up to the SPIN technique.
