“I’m starting to think I don’t feel anything anymore” quote by Alex Libby (Hirsch). There are three things that could make the Hollister bully policy more effective. One, what the Hollister school policy would be like if it looked like other schools bully policies. Second, the bully policy should talk about gun control. Last, it talks about what the teacher and students should do when they see or hear about bullying, but it doesn’t talk about is what the bullies consequences are. I believe that the Hollister Bully Policy is not enough.
When someone is bullying another person, I believe that they should have consequences for it. In Nixa’s handbook it clearly tells what their consequences are. “Such discipline may include detention, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, expulsion, removal from participation in activities, exclusion from honors and awards, and other consequences deemed appropriate by the principal or superintendent.” (Nixa Public Schools). In Branson’s handbook also states what the bullies consequences will be. “Students who participate in bullying or who retaliate against anyone who reports bullying will be disciplined in accordance with the district's discipline code.” (Branson Public Schools). Nixa’s and Branson’s handbook plainly states the

With so many school shootings around the world it’s not safe for kids to have access to guns. Most of school shootings is because they were depressed or bullied or both and that’s why I think it should talk about gun control under the bully policy. I’m not sure if Hollister kids get bullied a lot or not but I’m sure it happens. We never know if there is gonna be a school shooting or even someone who is gonna kill themselves because the school doesn’t do enough. In the Hollister school policy I think it should talk more about gun control under the section of the bully
What is red, silver, black, and white that has won two NBA Championships? If you guessed the Houston Rockets, you are correct. Founded in just 1971, the Houston Rockets became part of the National Basketball Association as members of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The Houston Rockets have won two NBA Championships and four Western Conference titles in their time. In their 2017 season, they finished third in their conference.
Pennhurst was the heart of the “Human Rights Movement” that revolutionized America’s approach to health care for mentally and physically handicapped. Like many similar facilities of that era, Pennhurst functioned almost completely independently from the rest of society. Pennhurst produced its own food, operated its own power plant, and policed its own grounds. Pennhurst housed 2,791 people most of them children.Only 200 of the residence were in any type of arts, education, or recreation programs that would help them mingle in society. If there was a bully that needed taken care of then, the doctors would give him a drug that would make him the most uncomfortable but wouldn’t cause any permanent injury. There were a lot of bullies at Pennhurst that the staff knew about and didn’t do anything to stop them from bullying other patients. Such patients needed to be restrained for their own
The Bully Survival Support Group will be a short-term group which will consist of 8 sessions, totaling 8 weeks. The group will be short-term because it is a closed therapeutic support group that members are not admitted into the group after selection have been made. This decision was made to enable the group leader and co-facilitator instigate another session of the support group, to enable other students have an equal chance to be recruited, and supported through participation.
Students in Hollister High School hold their heads up high with pride. They are the stars of the school with the most friend and attention. While they are getting all the attention no one notices the students in the background. The ones getting shoved to the ground for being “annoying”. Things like this lead students like Tyler Long ,from the movie Bully, to commit suicide. Hollister High School has the chance to stop things like this from happening. Based on the student handbook and the way the administration acts it makes you wonder. Who would Hollister High School protect? The quarterback of the football team or the quiet girl at the back of the classroom who gets picked on? If this high school really wants to protect the harms of bullying then why don’t they have a proper bully policy? One of things that is good about the student handbook is are the consequences, but there are still some flaws in the policy. Such as the Report form, this form is helpful in some cases, but a waste of time. Lastly, one of the other flaws is the teacher's role in letting kids know about the bully problem, and giving teachers more of a opportunity to inform their students about bullying, and how it affects the people around them. If Hollister High School wants to improve their school then there are going to be some changes to be made.
At last week’s match against the New Orleans Pelicans, where the Houston Rockets won 100:95, two Houston Community College students were shadowing Rockets employees on a game day at the Toyota Center.
There is no reason to bully. You should settle problems in a civil way. We should all come together and try to make an impact on the bullies. One way to help is if we see something report it .We can also have arranged assemblies in school or outside of school. As a group make a website for anti-bullying. Together, as a group we can make a difference if we stand together nothing is impossible
Justin and Ricky are friends with Danesia and Casey. Theses four are the common group that I constantly get complaints about. Danesia is confrontational to the more timid workers and the word bully is often associated with her. Danesia works closing often which is with mostly Justin or Rick and they often leave her in charge. Because she has a bad work ethic and she bullies some of the workers, it has caused a couple of girls to quit and a few to look for alternative jobs because they are only available to work at night and she along with Ricky and Justin are their main problems. When I brought this problem to Cheryl she told me that they(the workers) are only mad because she tells them what to do. Danesia herself is not an good example
Currently, there are not any Supreme Laws that addresses bullying. In the case of Morrow V. Balaski (Case No. 13-302). The parents of tried to hold the school where their daughters attended responsible for the bullying of their daughters. The incident was brought before the school administrators and the bully received a suspension. After, the suspension was completed the school allowed the student to return. The parents alleged The school allowed the student to return to school knowingly, the student would cause harm to her children.
“Fatty! Pig! Fatty! Come on Fatty keep up!” In a community people think it is awesome to bully people. Bullying is teasing someone because people are overweight, or people are jealous. For example, people usually get bullied because people are overweight, or have down syndrome. The people behind this bullying are usually the jocks. Consider the people that are hurt everyday because of bullying. For instance, more people are hurt then being excited or happy. Let’s stop bullying because people are alike and no one is perfect. This world is not perfect by any means, so no one will be perfect. Also, people should try to act like people are perfect. People on Earth should be like brothers and sisters. Yes brothers and sisters have their fights,
By definition, bullying is a repeated act of physical or mental harm over a course of time where the victim cannot defend themselves. This is a very prominent issue that can lead to problems such as depression and self-harm. Bullying is like a virus. It constantly changes and evolves, usually without us even noticing it.That is why teachers have a difficult time finding it.I believe that we, students of Vicenza Middle School should stand up for one another.Teachers can not be everywhere, but we can. If you witness someone being bullied, step in and make the bullies stop. One of my favorite quotes is from Lieutenant Colonel David Grossman, “ There are three types of people in this world, sheep, wolves and sheep dog.” The sheep would be the victim,
In the last three years gun control has been a more important issue do to bringing them to school. In 2011, 20% of high school students were bullied at school, and 33% reported being involved in a physical fight in the year before. In one month, nearly 6% of high schoolers stayed home because they felt unsafe at or own their way to school. More than 7% of 9th through 12th graders reported being threatened or injured with a weapon on school property at least ones in the last year. An additional 6% admitted to bringing a weapon on school property for protection. More than 50% of children who have been bullied online do not report the behavior to their parents, with no idea regarding this behavior. In 2011, one million children were harassed,
People who have bullied someone should not be given criminal charges. According to Eli Federman’s article “Bullying is Bad, But Criminalizing Bullying Would Be Even Worse”, America has the highest prison rate in the world, spending $60.3 billion in budget expenditures. If bullies into a prison or jail, there would be so much people in those facilities that putting more people in jail would be unnecessary, costing the government more money. Bullies should not carry criminal charges because it wouldn’t greatly help the victims and it would not stop the spread of bullying.
I believe that kids that bully other kids should get punished because they know what they are doing. I also believe that the parents should also get punished because they raised their child to be that way and also the punishment should be how long they bullied that kid for that long. It’s really my opinion about bullying because other people have opinions about it.I just think that everyone should be treated equally and treat other with respect When their kids bullies another child they need to pay for them.
Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.
Bullies not getting punished leads more students to get involved in these horrible acts due to peer pressure. Students feel like they need to bully to be popular or because everyone else does it. They don’t realize that bullying other kids makes you look worse and can drive that student to never come back to school or do something even worse. If the students who started the bullying were caught and suspended, less students would continue the bullying. They would see the consequences that a bully got and
