Motown records was a record label created in 1959 by Berry Gordy. The record label was created in Detroit, Michigan. Berry Gordy got a loan of $800 from his family to start the record label. Within a few years motown was the biggest selling record company. Berry Gordy ended up selling the record label for over 60 million dollars. Motown was modeled on a automobile assembly line that Berry had worked in his earlier life. Motown was known for having it’s own sound, the “motown sound.” This sound came from three main sources. First, The Funk Brothers, and the Motown house band. The record label was and is still known as a cultural icon. Motown records had its first national hit called “Money(that's what I want.)”

I. Police brutality is constantly made known to us all through mass media, but I hadn’t ever taken the time to truly grasp the severity of it until it hit close to home.
Throughout the country, law enforcement serves to protect the nation and its people. However, throughout the past years, many disturbing cases come up and people question the true authority and power of those who call themselves protectors of justice. Within the past 30 years, four major events have caught the media’s eye: L.A. Riots, the Trayvon Martin case, and recently, the Michael Brown shooting case and the Eric Garner chokehold case.
The automobile industry put American citizens into action. Mass production was a big component in the success of automobiles. Although successful, it became very repetitive. Skilled workers who were once worshipped, were no longer needed. Henry Ford was described as racist, bitter, but he brought success to citizens in the 1920s. Ford started the Ford Motor Company in 1903 with the help of a limited amount of workers in a shed. It was not until 1914 where custom-made cars turned into many cars, such as the Model T, moving down an assembly line. The Model T was a very popular car that benefitted cheap labor and easy mobility for its owners. Ford became a billionaire from the help of the federal government’s actions.
